If Section is right about the bird rights and that does happen (sign-and-trade with Toronto).....

    G - R. Foye / M. Chalmers / J. Williams
    G - D. Wade / R. Bell
    F - L. James / M. Miller / D. Wright
    F - C. Bosh / U. Haslem / J. Vernado
    C - J. Anthony / D. Pittman / ? (Brad Miller FTW!)

If you want to be cheap that team doesn't even need to bring Dorell Wright back if it's not a very financial friendly deal.

Imagine rolling out this line up for stretches:

    G - Dwyane Wade
    G - Mike Miller
    F - LeBron James
    F - Udonis Haslem
    C - Chris Bosh

I know Bosh doesn't want to be a full time center but I'm sure he'll see limited minutes there.

If the LeBron James plan fails us which I believe it will, and that's fine because we're winners anyway.... no Brendan Haywood makes it clear. Hello Mike Miller & Ray Felton, IMO. Possibly Haslem's return as well.

He's be a center in certain offensive sets but I think Haslem would play far more minutes at center.

And Mike Miller should not be given a damn deadline. With or without LeBron he should be our primary target with Haywood off the market.

I've always liked MM going back to his days at UF, but dammit if it doesn't seem like he's hurt all the time.

I am excited for all of you Miami Heat fans if this comes to fruition. Dolphins getting Dansby and Marshall plus Heat getting the bouncing version of the Trifecta equals a spectacular few months.

You really think that? Seriously? If so you should get off your high horse. The only NY team i even follow is the Yankees, Football its the Dolphins, Baseball; Yankees, Hockey; Avalanche, and Basketball, 1996 Chicago Bulls. To think that i really think that a league can't succeed unless their NY teams are competing is bull****. I think its bad for the NBA because you got 3 of the top players in the NBA on one team. I don't even want him to go to the Knicks, i want him to stay in Cleveland. So get your facts straight next time. IMO a league can't succeed if there is no competition.

You can't have it both ways - you can't say the Heat are unstoppable and going to win the next 5 championships AND say there is going to be competition.

It is awesome for the Heat - but I think bad for the league in that there will be no rivalries. Three of the biggest superstars play for the same team, so you won't have any Bird vs Magic kind of situations. You won't be able to argue who the best player in the league is, because 2 of the 3 choices play on the same team.

    hmmmm...

I just read on NBA.com that Stern says the Heat will only be allowed to play 3 players at a time if Lebron joins in order to keep the east competitive.

I think the Lakers would have something to say about Miami winning championships in perpetuity. MIA (V) LA rivalry would be awesome! Don't forget that in one season, both Paul and Anthony could join Amar'e for the Knicks.

Basketball is going to continue and won't be going anywhere. The only reason to think that it wouldn't work is because you've (a) been fed alot of crap about NBA or (b) you're not a fan of the Heat.

A 6'8 center? Can't see it. Not when we have to go through Dwight Howard and then Bynum. We need more size than that.

That's what the phrase "bad for MLB/NBA/NFL" means. Sports media members always equate the fortunes of a sports league with the fortunes of its NY teams. It's not right, but they do it, and they cover it up with euphemisms.

The Lakers and Celtics beating each other up in the '80s was great for the NBA. The Bulls winning six championships in the '90s was great for the NBA. LA's three titles earlier this decade were great for the NBA.

Dynasties draw viewers and sell tickets. Competition between juggernauts fuels headlines and chatter.

This is good for the NBA, not bad. It's bad for New York, though, which is fine with me.

I said more minutes at center, not that he would start at center. You can probably pencil Joel Anthony in for the starting center job. But putting Haslem at C is the best way to increase his minutes, especially if we somehow keep Beasley as Bosh's backup.

Sure you can. There are thirty teams in the NBA and sixteen of those make the playoffs every year. In the East, you'll have the Super Heat versus a better Knicks, a strong Orlando, and an improved Chicago. The Western Conference isn't quite as competitive as it was a couple of years ago, but you've got a surging OKC and Portland to compete against the defending champion Lakers and a surprisingly good Nuggets squad.

There's plenty of competition to be had in the NBA even with three of its best players in one town.

It's crazy to believe the Lakers wouldn't be competition. In fact they're probably still the favorites regardless of what happens tonight and the rest of the summer. Don't mistake Orlando and Boston for pushovers either... even against such a dynamic trio, which probably won't happen to begin with.

But Lebron looking so desperate for help cries out that Kobe is the best player in the league.

Hey if it wasnt for the Giants, we all would be in a world of hurt!!!!! so hats off to NY....

The whole NY arguement is BS, NY'ers dont care about any city but NY, you bust NY'ers(from NY) balls about the Red Sox, they dont care, they are more worried about the Mets, and the back page...its crazy...they think every sport is there throne, and they loan it out from time to time....

I have seen 6 championships from baseball, it is getting boring...I dont even get excited about it anymore...

    The hate is like fuel.

    it is jealousy.

If they had Pat Riley pulling the strings, a great city, a superstar recruiting, a great owner, etc...and all of that conspired to build a really good team...Nobody would complain if it was their team doing it.

Isn't that the whole point of being a GM?

Building a great team? Do you sign Peyton Manning, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson, but as soon as Antonio gates commits to a contract...you say.."AH...nah..that's okay...I think we have enough."

SO is the complaint NOW that Pat Riley is TOO good at his job?

I don't think they'd be unstoppable, just the favorites. I still expect the Lakers to be a very good team. I mean they are the B2B champions. What I think this creates is a potential dynasty on each coast much like you had in the LA/Boston battles of old. Many people think back to those times as one of the golden eras of the sport. I think the ideal situation for the NBA is to have a couple of teams that can make the argument as all-time greats battling it out. I see the Lakers as having at least two more potential years as a dynasty as currently configured. Maybe Miami can face them in some epic finals battles those two years. Miami may or may not emerge as true dynasty for their time period. Then some other team will challenge Miami for supremacy. I figure Wade will start declining in about 4 years so that could open the door.

Who's blaming the Heat for taking advantage? I just think it waters down basketball even more.

The "Heat" is on because anything less than 3-4 championships they are a failure.

I ONLY feel bad for Cleveland as a CITY.

I have a long memory of them cheering when Dan Marino was on his back with a torn Achilles.

Most of those scumbags are gone. I feel bad for the kids that idolize Lebron James. But seriously..if he leaves (and I am not convinced he is leaving Cleveland) it is nobody;s fault but that Franchises fault. Danny Ferry...etc...

and of course...grow a beach and get better weather.

Now for NY and CHI...drop dead and **** you.

The past 2 years Lebron has been the best regular season player in the league....Kobe while he had a CRAPPY finals series for his standards does have a nice supporting cast, but jesus if it takes THAT to get you a ring how can he ever claim to be the best in the league? He cant.

This.....you cant be mad that a team is willing to spend the cash, instead of greedy owners pocketing it to put together a championship team, and have people in the FO that know what they are doing....With todays ticket prices, at least this is something in return....I would like to see the northeast winning go away, my 4 favorite days are......

    -When the Pats season ends
    -When the Celtics season ends
-When the Red Sox season ends
    -When the Bruins season ends

Okay and the 4th of July thats 5.....

The only thing i dislike about whats going on is that Riley had to wait until i was going up to college in Gainesville to decide he wanted to rape the rest of the NBA. Oh well, thats what nationally televised games are for.

Can't we not get a trade exception b/c we're under the cap? I'm assuming he emant we're just clearing cap space, but that's now two reports in the last hour or so regarding Beasley deals with the Mike Miller thing.

You only make this move if you're sure you've snared the big game.

No idea to be honest, im living on campus in UF this year so i cant really order extra channels or a satellite dish. I dpn't know if they braodcast Heat games or if they have those local sports network on the cable in the dorm rooms, and if they do id think theyd broadcast Orlando over Miami just due to proximity.
