Born and raised a UM fan, but the tuition costs are just waaaaay too high for me to justify going there. Maybe for my masters, maybe,

I never say anything definite, because there are alot of moving parts in all this.

But..if they are moving Beasley for cap space..and cap space only..it means that we got Lebron James. PERIOD.

    end of story.

This was posted before, but I just wanna say, WHY CANT I LIVE THIS LIFE?!?!?!?!?! Okay okay A) I'm not 6'+ 250, and can jump thru the roof, and B) Sorry Heat fans I had a City of Cleveland "woo is me" moment right there...

LeBron James has reportedly booked a party at the W Hotel in Miami for Saturday night.

Yes, he's going to Carmelo Anthony's wedding in New York on Saturday, but it seems feasible that he could jet to Miami in time for an old fashioned throwdown at the W that night. All signs are pointing to him signing with the Heat - now more than ever.

Congrats to Miami because its all but done, I dont think it was a smart move for Lebron personally for a few different reasons...but it is what it is.

D.Wade is still the heart and soul of that team no matter WHO comes! He is a loyal unselfish person and player.

Also congrats to Kobe...now their is no doubt.

If the Knicks get Parker and Carmello then get ready for an old rivalry to kick back into high gear.

Sam Amico is posting up a storm on Twitter...

Source: Heat has big party planned for season-ticket holders tonight to coincide with LeBron announcement.

Source: LeBron made decision in call w/Bosh, Wade. All of this was previously planned: Bosh & Wade would announce 1st, then LBJ in show.

Source: Spoelstra will continue to coach Heat. Plans are to have LeBron play point guard, a la Magic.

Source: LeBron has already rented spots, in Miami, for party.

Source had knowledge of the conference call between James, Wade, Bosh. Story coming

I think once they win one championship the pressure's off. Obviously the goal is to win at least two (more would depend on the lengths of the contracts they sign), but if they win just one championship in three years it may be deemed not to have lived up to expectations but it wouldn't be a failure.

What's the advantage? My basketball IQ can't comprehend this.

He's a natural PG. Remember early in his career when he got blasted for passing too much?

wade can play off the ball while LeBron does what he does best, distribute the basketball. It also gives him an advantage posting up what is probably gonna be a smaller player, we also don't need to find a good starting point guard, which are much harder to find than a decent shooting SF who can play defense,

I tuned him out early in his career because I was sick over how his high school games were broadcast nationally. Too much hype for me.

But hey, if that's what he wants to do, come on down.

Edit: Stugotz on 790 saying that Wade's entourage doesn't want LeBron in Miami, and somehow he leaps to asking if Wade is going to prevent LeBron from coming and how Heat fans would feel if Wade prevented LeBron from coming here. What?

I was a cane fan growing up then went to UF for undergrad and UM for grad school. Of the two I would say that UF is a far more collegiate experience. UM often feels like a commuter school. Obviously everybody is different, but IMO UF is a much better place to go to college just based on the experience. I'm not talking here about academics as that may depend on your field. Back when I was there UF was the better academic school in most of the fields I was considering, but I'm sure there were fields where Miami was superior.

    I'll explain.

Small Forward is the most expendable position and PG is a premium one.

You play Lebron James at PG..it forces teams to flop their assignments and flip SF to guard the point and teams to use their PG to guard the SF...two matchup problems.

It neutralizes lane jumpers at the PG position in this league.

You can also play alot of double post offense which is a Riley Staple and quite simply...it cannot be defended BY ANYBODY. You catch them in one switch and it is over...6'-8" 250 vs. 6'-1" 170.

it would mean that Lebron;s stats would look alot like Magic's back int eh day. 19 ppg 12 assists 9 rebs per game. Wade would remain the teams leading scorer.

That benefits Wade the most. He plays off the ball and would never EVER see double team or any team try to deny him the ball..because as soon as they cheat...Lebron has the lane open to himself.

This will be the best offense since the showtime lakers.

Got to be a load of bull. Israel Gutierrez reported it on SC after he writes ana rticle about how he doesn't want LBJ and yet neither Ira or any other reporter follow up and report the story.

He may have gotten it from Wade's 2nd cousin, but ti didn't come from Wade. He has been orchestrating this dance the whole time.

No. that party was for a Wade signing party for his family and friends.

(These guys are like corporations..believe it or not..Dwyane Wade employs like 30 people. So family and friends could mean all the employees and their families..etc...)

I have not heard anything...and SOURCE told me after I posted the Bosh news that till this Lebron thing is settled..he could not correspond with me. (Too busy)

    Worthy was really good....

and I know that trio had 3 hall of famers...

but this trio is actually better.

The total weight beats the Laker trio.

I would say Wade is better than Worthy, but Kareem is much better than Bosh. Magic Lebron might be a push. Its really close though in terms of just actual talent level. These guys might be better in terms of talent but we'll have to see if they play together as well as those guys did.

All i know is im excited as hell

A few things before i depart for the day and try to get things done.

    To the city of Cleveland:

Lebron James is a FREE-AGENT. That means he is free to go where he pleases. If he wanted to be in Cleveland, he would have signed the extension last yr. He has been orchastrating this departure for over a year. GET OVER IT!

To the reporters who are hating on the Heat and Lebron:

what a bunch of crybabies! all this "oh lebron is deserting the city, lebron is the next art modell, lebron wont win anywhere else"

Please please tell me again how a free agent is deserting a city. Who cares if he grew up there. If his petition to the NBA to let him join the league after his junior yr in HS was granted he may have not ever ended up with the Cavs. The man feels he wants to win a championship, and really what athlete plays a sport without that aspiration. The man wants to play with his best friends in the league and that happens to be in miami. Give the guy a break. If you have a chance to win with these 3 guys now in almost any city, thats where you go. GET OVER IT!

    To miami heat fans:

Get excited because the triumverate is about to arrive!

Completely overrated in the game of Basketball. Football? Yes. Basketball, no.

The Celtics proved this, as did Ron Artest with the Lakers last year. He was a horrible fit for that team IMO.

Four-way trade talk: Beasley told WED by Heat to expect trade and Bobcats highly motivated to get him: (http://es.pn/bPnrvh)

Oh the sweet irony. Michael Jordan will turn the final screw that tears Jerry Reinsdorf's heart out. I can't be the only guy that loves this angle.

This seals it for me. I've been cautiously excited. Now I'm going to go buy some alcohol and get drunk well before LeBron's announcement tonight.

The only real question left is whether we start referring to Miami as Titletown or Title Beach. Between the Super Heat and the way the Fins are looking... damn.

Totally agree with this....from a storybook view yeah its a shame, hometown kid, playing for hometown city....just like Joe Mauer in Minnesota, same exact thing.....HOWEVER...I agree as a free agent he is free to choose, give him credit, he made the hard choice....

I assume from Lebron you will hear, after all the ''championship, not about the money, playing with friends'' stick, that you will hear, about he wanted to play and do it on his own......i.e.....away from home, without the support of the City he calls home IMO....
