It has just become very very easy to hate the Heat.
Not in the same category as the Lakers, but not far behind.

The true tragedy of it is, D Wade, from all accounts, is one of the best people in Pro Sports these days.

As little as I pay attention to the NBA anymore, you can bet I will pay attention each and everytime the Heat lose a game.

This is the greatest thing to happen to the NBA since Kobe-Shaq in LA. Ratings will skyrocket. People love to hate a successful team. David Stern needs to hope that the Lakers can keep it up for another couple of years, or that Portland or OKC become very good very quickly.

The NBA Finals already draws more viewers than the World Series. A dynastic run can cement that lead for a decade or more.

Side note: I've changed my ringtone to the Imperial March. Seems appropriate.

Doesn't matter. Stern will make sure teams look good enough to be competitive with the Heat.

Well with no Salary cap, the Baseball is boring. It secures the title to the deep pocketed teams 90% of the time. This means that Underdog MLB stories are very very rare. Thus making a Yankees world series the most boring thing on earth unless of course you're a new yorker... In which case you'll watch it 35 times and brag about every single one as if there was any real strategy involved besides buying the best players available...

These guys are all taking paycuts to join the Heat. They aren't coming to the Heat because of money. Can you imagine players taking less money to join the Yankees?

Fair enough, and no I can't.
I honestly wouldn't have had such an issue with it if Queen James hadn't shown his real egotistical colors I imagine.
Prior to this, I really did like the Heat.

He stood up and defended his decision like a man. He could have just released a statement and not answered any questions. I'm not going to knock him, because in the end, the entire thing helped the NBA.

Not only that, but come on... He gave them 6 great years! What do they want?? A lifetime commitment? What did they do so great that he owes them so much? They owe him EVERYTHING. How many times has it been said that he needs a better supporting cast?? They tried (some may call that trying), but in the end, he didn't think he could win there. He gave it a good long shot and has moved on. Where's the crime?

But reagrding this situation, I feel the same way now as I did when the Canes were the most hated team in college football: Pretty ****ing good.

It's fun to be the team everyone hates, so in that sense I understand where Yankees fans are coming from. Only difference is we won't act like complete douches about it. Well, not on purpose anyway :shifty:

I love how people are saying lebron's win's shouldn't count or have some kind of * now, there's none of this talk if wade and bosh go to clevland or if bron went to LA somehow would kobe's next couple of rings not count? It's insane.

Yes, sort of like how the Big Three in Boston hadn't set foot on a court before people already declared them a championship contender. Guess what? They won it that first year.

Let that hate fester. We feed on it. To Heat fans, the rest of the NBA is the Jets, and we don't even need Ted Ginn to beat you.

He did a 1 hour docudrama (Very heavy on the drama) usually staged by princess' in a chick flick.
It lessens the NBA and turns this entire thing into a cheap trick by a very well paid and very egocentric john...

It also received the highest ratings of any ESPN news program, ever.

The NBA received much more attention than they normally would have. For a league thats suffered from declining ratings and attendance, this is the best thing that could have happened.

Would you rather have had an extra hour of Baseball Tonight on?

Thank you for pointing out the entire falacy of the entire thing.
    ESPN is a whore.
If this is the best they can do, do a prime-time Reality Drama, on a sports channel?
Sorry, ESPN doesn't add to this at all

the heat did nothing wrong. its now their job to find some kind of way to get 3 guys that averaged no less than about 25 ppg their touches and some way to have a bench that can get them through 82 games + playoffs.

fans should blame the players. it was mostly their doing

I have absolutely no idea where anyone is coming from on this.

So the Heat aren't good enough to beat the Lakers, but they are easily good enough to come out of the East. The same East that produced last years Celtics that pushed the Lakers to game 7.

    Give me a break.

I do agree with this, and what the players did wasn't nessicerily bad (although, change in rules is going to come from this) but the way that Labron did it is what I find issue with.
Anybody still think he's not an egotistical person?
    I didn't, but I certainly do now.
On the bright side, at least its not the Lakers or Knicks.
