That would be a sweet lineup; right there, that's the best starting 5 in the league.

i think we can all see that wade bosh and lebron had this somwehat planned out before this free agent season officially started. but thats not tampering. thats 3 of the top players deciding to join efforts for a common goal. none of them are required to stay where they were.

they all had the power to make their decisions independently. they all chose to sacrifice millions of dollars and smaller individual success for the oppurtunity to have greater success and work with some of their most respected colleagues that also happen to be good friends.

its a great idea for a superstar to have two superstar team mates. it makes their team incredibly strong and leaves 2 fewer superstars out there on other teams that they have to battle through.

i think too many people are complaining too much about too many details of this entire story. i say power to the players. they made incredibly smart business decisions for themselves. they set an example and prove its not all about getting the biggest contract. i think its an amazing example of team work, dedication and compromise too achieve a common goal.

you can blame espn/sports center for that. they chose to focus on the wrong angle of the story. all day thursday there were more and more hints of james coming to miami. instead of filming and showing miami reactions they chose to talk about negative impacts of everywhere that didnt get him. its like espn/sports center doesnt support the whole situation.

Well the only way they could prove there was tampering is if they could prove Wade went to Pat Riley and told him if the could clear enough salary cap space that Bosh and James would come. Now I think that did happen but is it provable? I seriously doubt it.
I kinda have to laugh when people seriously try to claim these guys gave up money. Salary isn't the only check these guys cash. Theres no doubt the three of them, particularly Bosh, are even more marketable, every sports related company or really any company is probably on the phone with their agents trying to throw money at them. I'd say they make a good 10 million a piece more in marketing per year because they joined the same team. More power to them but these guys are smart businessmen, they know exactly what they are doing and they ain't giving up a dime. Oh and Florida has no state tax......

I'm going to assume ESPN knows jack like usual, but this has me perturbed:

If we plan on starting him at point I'll be upset, and if we offer him more than the Min I'm going to be really upset, especially with UD still waiting on us.

    The contracts were cleverly constructed.

the option that was built in allows them to rework the deal while maintaining their value, and push the next reup up to they are at least 36 years old, which means that the agents think that the next CBA is going to be VERY unfriendly to the players.

That's what I'm going with. I really want to see Lebron in the Magic Johnson role. I really see this team as potentially being Magic and Jordan playing with Tim Duncan while all three are in their prime. This is video game fantasy stuff.

IMO Lebron could potentially be Magic. Wade is probably a hair below Jordan just b/c Jordan was so incredible. But I see that same "killer" mentality in Wade that I saw in Jordan. I think Bosh is a slight step below Duncan in his prime. He's just as good of a scorer, maybe better, but a couple of rebounds and a block or so below Duncan when Duncan was at his best. I am curious to see what Bosh's game will look like with a better supporting cast. Duncan certainly had better support players when he was in his prime and winning championships than what we've seen Bosh play with thus far in Toronto.

Haslem has four offers on the table, including ours. The biggest offer is reportedly 3 years, $20m from the Nets. He's deciding this weekend and will probably have an answer early in the week. I'd say Tuesday.

These are all very good comparisons but to be honest the one thing that sticks out is that they are all a 'hair' below the others that came before them in that specific role. I think all three will bring a new dynamic of their that people will be talking about for a long time.

I admit that I may be a bit swept up in the emotions of this coup, but I do agree with Wade's comment that this is arguably the most talented trio ever on one team. I don't think it's a slam dunk, but I do think they deserve to be in the conversation. We'll have see what they can achieve to really give the argument some meat, but IMO the prospects look good.

To be expected. In the end, it's just noise. Four franchises banked their immediate futures on one player and missed out. It's not Pat Riley's fault that they were that foolish.

Paul has actually been linked to the Triple Crown as a fourth member to be added later. (Don't ask me how that works financially.) I don't know if that's legitimate information or sarcastic speculation. Nothing ever came of the CP3/Magic trade rumors, though.

Carmelo's been associated with NY for a long time. I believe he's got a better chance of going to the Knicks (50%) than LeBron (0%) ever did.

I read the CP3 to Miami rumor. It's just a suggestion, though. Nothing serious.

What happened to the CP3 rumors anyway? Is he staying in NO now?

I like the "Evil Empire" theme song as an intro idea.

I see a lot of Run DMC's "Peter Piper" in their future as well.

Hell, you could bring them in on the Austin Power's theme song it's so laughable...

I've heard them all being possibly able to form in Denver as well?

I mean, its all kids on message board ****. But they seemed to have an idea of their team's cap situation?

I dont understand the cap, so I dont know how valid the claims are.

But if the Magic could somehow do it... they have the same advantage as the Heat in terms of state taxes...
