Im tired of all this jets are SB contenders talk IMO you dont get better by getting worse.

they got rid of Jones/Washington added Tomlinson - how does that add up LT is DONE hes only a backup and hes going to replace 2 people?(oh yeah they have Greene big whoop)

they lose Faneca and aaaaaaaaaaddd who - nuff said.

they lose Rhodes and add Pool - downgrade

ok so they added Holmes and Cromartie.

Holmes played in PIT is this going to be a story like Deon Branch , T,J. Housh, Roy Williams where they go to another team and suck i think so specially since Dirty sanchez is throwing the rock.

Cromartie ok so im actually worried about this add especually since Revis is on the other side.

I just dont see it they got lucky last year getting in the playoffs but no one sees that all they see is the postseason push which was all D Sanches just didnt mess up but what happoned in Indy yeah exactly. the jets will prob go 9-7 again and miss the playoffs oh and lets not forget that each of the last 2 times the jets make the playoffs they dont go back till they get a new coach (Edwards,Mangini)

IDK just POed ranting sick of the Jet talk

    F'em.

The dumb talk coming from the media will stop once their season is flushed down the toilet as usual.

I agree with your title, but I'd say that if they were the defending world champs or went 0-16 last season.

Seriously, think about how you would feel, and how the media would feel if we had gone to the AFC Championship game last year and then in the offseason made a lot of splashy moves (albeit flawed, as you pointed out). Would not the general media have US painted as contenders and ready to make the next step ?? Sure they would. We'll have to wait and see how things shake out. I believe, as you do, that we made much more sound "building block" type of moves with a young Dansby and Marshall to become core players for our next run. However, we didn't get to the AFC CG last season and won't be recognized by many until we start beating people in September...

Don't lose to much sleep over the fact that the Jests are being viewed as the "Offseason Champions". Lets worry about things in Sept....

Not really being Fin's related, this will probably get moved, but I will do some more rambling...
As many experts say, the thing is to make the Post Season, and once your there anything can happen... The Jets made it and did as much as they could do with their chances... Kudos to them...

But the reality is, the whole country knows the Jets made the Post Seson, on at least Indi giving up and resting their starters in the last 2 games... The Colts backs ups were really no match for the Jets Defense and Offense...

and their BIG Post Season Push to the Conference final??? Well they played a game with the SD Chargers who decided that they will run the ball against the Jets to win that game... What game planning was that???

SD went away from what they do best to what the Jets D does best, and that is stopping the run... I have to give the "A" for ***whole for the Chargers O coordinator in that game... Play to an opponents strength...

The Cinci game... well again the Reds, I mean Bengals, game planning was to run the ball, which they did well all season, except when they again play the Jets in the last game of the season... Who won that outcome and did the Bengals score any points in the one???

Again the 2 first Post Season games, opponents played to the Jets strength and did not attack their weakness on D, and that really was the short passing game... Something SD should have planned for, IMO...

So the Jets had a good first half against the Colts in the Conference Final... and were winning at the start of the 2nd half... well so did Miami when they played Indi early in the year... You just don't hear anyone mention this do you???

All you hear is that the Jets had the lead at the start of the 3rd quarter, until the Colts re-groupped and tore them their great D, via the Short Passing game in the 2nd half. The Jets had 5-6 DB's in that scenario, and could not contain that Passing attack...

Why do you think they went heavy on CB's this Off Season??? Their Passing D was eventually shown for what it trully was... their weakness and they had to shore it up some...

Jet fans don't think much of the loss of Jones... [/B]well he scored 14 TDs last year (84 points)... that was second in the team (first their FG kicker, 122)... Jones scored 25% of the total points last year and the leader on Offense...and at a distant 3rd and 4th was Edwards (with 4 TDs, 26 points) and Cotchery (4 TDs, 24 points)...

So yes, the Jets will have some trouble scoring this year, IMO...

Their weakness again this year will be their Offense, and if you can score over 23 points against their D, you have a pretty good chance of winning those games, specially if you control the tempo...

Its a good thing that the game has to be played on the field and not in the tabloids.

The long faces of Jet Fans that we have become accustomed to seeing and the lame excuses will come back soon enough .

For every 2 championship b.s. rants about the Jets, there's the opinion that they are full of hot air and could burst early next season. They are getting a bit of bad press too. But I like it. let em think they are something special.

I actually think we've been getting too much attention lately. All of a sudden, Lombardi is on our bandwagon, and high expectations are put on us with the acquisitions of a few players and draft picks. I'd rather see us fly a little lower under the radar.

You can't argue with delusional fans...Let's just wait until the season starts and if the Jests fail AGAIN then maybe their fans will stop hyping them up every season, Eh?

12 more days, and then we will have something real to talk about.....camp reports, position battles rounding into shape, why did Marshall drop a ball at camp, who is unsigned still....I cant wait for the on-field stuff to begin, I am sick of predictions, and why Henne will or wont be good articles....

Lets put these pads on boys and go to work!!

    Jealousy will get you nowhere.

We had a surprise season last year and so no everyone things we will be busting through to the SB.

For me, that is a long shot.

Can we do better than 9 wins? Sure, but to say we are a play or two away from the big show is just not thinking it through.

well thats what majority of people are thinking. when nfl live is mentioning the top 4 teams as saints, colts, vikings and jets......thats just ludicrous.

so you see its not jealousy.....we are just agreeing with you having disdain against the majority of the nation salivating at the jets balls like a dog in heat.
