no stoooopid the Jets were, in fact the Jets are the reason the NFL exists, u didnt know that!?!??!!?!?
This is a very good point. And the reason for it was subpar pass pro from the guards. Though already a strong suit, the running game should be even better this year. But improved pass pro from the interior guys will open up the offense nearly as much as Brandon Marshall will.
you have already received your wish. the Miami Orca are the top Pod of the Seven Seas Long, Dimitri, Grove, Incognito, Carey for starts
More or less, no problem with Williamson's view there. Dead wrong, DTrain led the Oline in POA wins with 83%. Not while rehabbing a toe injury, that means no weight lifting involving his lower body.. Agree, but he such a valuable backup he may not win the Starter's job at G, but could push Grove at Center "if" another as talented swingman emerges, Proctor, Garner, Tsoumpas. Fascinating prospect who knows WildCat blocing schemes, I suspect he is a bit raw though and not likely to win the Starter's role until midseason..if at all this season. I know he has been penciled in as the RG, but I suspect it is not as much of a lock as people may think, rotten Richie is signed to a cheapy contract for a reason, two terrible teams let him walk in 09..for a reason. I suspect we have a bit too much depth at G, and another Alleman/Ndukwe style trade should surprise no one imho.
THIS is what I have been calling for and LOVING since Parcells/Ireland/Sparano got here. Games are won & lost in the trenches, our trenches are looking damn good, we will be winning some games with our OL. The thing about not having to keep in extra blockers opening up the passing game just gave me goosebumps, had not thought of that. Nearly had to change my drawers after reading it.
Absolutely..... not to mention be just as much of an aid to helping Henne develop as Marshall should be. Getting some time back there should mean more big plays and fewer mistakes.... Henne should be well armed to do some damage this year.... that spotlight on him will be a bright one.
the word elite is not something i have thought about when it comes to our oline..not yet imo...I dont think you can have 2/5ths of the line up for grabs and health concerns at your center position and call yourself elite..
IMO the Dolphins had the best run blocking OL last year until Grove got hurt. Their pass pro was decent but handicapped by a young QB that struggled at times with pocket awareness. Henne's development alone will make a huge difference in the OL's pass pro this coming year. I think you can be the best OL in the league with just 4 of the 5 playing well as long the 5th guy is a G and not a complete sieve, serviceable will do. The Dolphins have that at their tackles and center (when healthy) and they have several guards who can and have played at a high level. I think that Incognito is a lock for one of those G spots anyways.
Agreed I just hope that Henne doesnt have too much faith, and is holding the ball for long periods of time....only bad things happen when you hold the football too long in this league....
