New York sends: Eddy curry, Anthony Randolph, Toney Douglas, Ronny Turiaf, and Keleena Azubuike

Knicks receive: CP3 and the atrocious contract of emeka okafor.
Then I pray okafor's contract can be flipped for something better...like maybe okafor, felton and chandler for Jr smith's expiring deal and carmelo on say December 15th when felton's contract becomes tradeable

    LOL

New York trades all their trash and other team's trash with one decent rotation player, and a backup for the best pure point guard in basketball.

    makes perfect sense.

    1. I was just throwing something out that works cap wise
    2. Randolph is hardly just a rotation player. He's probably the next Marcus Camby as the similarities in their games are pretty scary.

So you think a team in serious financial trouble is going to take back a bunch of god awful contracts? That makes perfect sense when the easiest way for any team to get Paul is going to be to rid New Orleans of their worst contract, Okafor.

We'll see, I think New Orleans knows who CP3 is, and will want a real offer instead of a cap dump trade.

The Knicks best bet is the Melo sweepstakes. If they are smart, they unload all they got for Melo NOW. Work on his extension later.

i definitely think the Knicks are in the game. Wonder if the Nets might be a darkhorse. I would definitely write off the Lakers. I think Orlando makes the most sense. If they get him I think it leapfrogs them over Miami which I think is a slight favorite in the east right now

portland is on pauls list. portland has the best pieces to get this done and i really hope they do.

joel pryzbilla exipiring contract(and might be paid 80% insurance if he doesn't play due to injuries)
andre miller team option next year, so basically an expiring
nicolas batum(don't forget new orleans coach monty williams, former blazer assistant LOVES batum and has been the one developing him)
    bayless
oden(give up him or batum but not both)
    rudy(doubt it, **** hiM)

plus we have paul allen who could give a **** about okafors contract lol

edit: i didn't include aldridge because he just has a new deal and i assume NOH are trying to shed salary.

    LOL!

Your hate is clouding your judgment. If they got him..the Heat will still have the best two players on the court.

    Did you forget that?

I know Sec, the hate is unreal.

Check out Hollinger's latest projection using the real Heat roster. If you recall he originally projected 61 wins and a berth in the Finals for 3 maxes and 12 minimum guys.

Now that he is using the real players he comes out with this 68 wins and a championship. Although he cautions we probably won't need to win 68 as guys will rest towards the end. He basically called a Lakers-Heat finals and suggested no one else is particularly close.

if we get paul and carmelo while keeping gallinari, then and only then would I say we even challenge the heat. And we would have to find a better option at SG then Bill Walker/Keleena Azubuike unless walker really continues to develop.

Hollinger is the one analyst on ESPN I read because he makes sense. The NBA really hasn't seen a combination as good as wade-lebron since kobe and shaq or Mj and pippen and those worked out pretty well.

Imo, as teams are currently constructed the only team that can hang with Miami is LAL because with a front line of gasol-iron-bynum they have probably more length then anyone else. That's just one of the reasons I want the knicks to hang on to gallinari at sf because length will be an issue for Miami when a team has multiple talented bigs.

I agree with that..although the Heat trump card is that in the end..it is basically a Wade vs. Paul showdown. But it will make for interesting basketball.

The best super team scenario that is realistic is a Deron Williams, Carmelo, Dwight Howard trio.

    The NBA: Where boring happens.

I realize I am a disgruntled Cavs fan, but the Heat superteam and now Paul demanding a trade to a small handful of teams takes some of the fun out of the NBA. The players having this much control and concentrating so much of the talent really kills most of the competitive fun of the sport.

Obviously a Lakers / Heat rivalry for the next few years will be fun on a top-line level, but the regular season and even, really, the playoffs until the Finals are going to just be boring.

I guess I am saying it is good for the occasional fan to tune in and see all the hype - but the more hardcore fan bases in each market are going to take a hit.

Then that series is a real series.

Come to think of it...that is CP3's best destination if he wants to challenge the nWo.

Oden hasn't done anything. Let's not count him as a core member of a championship team. He has to prove he can play a full season first.

agree...also have camby who was amazing last year for portland.

eh..unless they want to part with lopez i don't see it happening. he's their best piece along with harris but new orleans don't want a PG back they already have collison.

when he's played he has dominated the boards, and on defense. he can and will dominate if he stays healthy, especially when he develops some post moves. he is only 22 right now.

The fact that he's "only 22" and still can't play a full season isn't an excuse, it's a cause for concern.

I don't argue that he's a good player, I argue that he's an ineffectual player because of his inability to stay on the court. He's the Ronnie Brown of the NBA.

thats just nuts. howard and paul together not to mention the rest of that team would far surpass anything the HEAT have. A dominating center is worth far more than any other position. BTW, congrats to lebron on his new endorsement deal

Dwight doesnt dominate the game consistantly like a Shaq or a kareem did. Hes good defensively, probably the best big man in the league at that, but hes not at a, say, bill russell level where he can take over a game on defense.

He is a top 10, probably top 5 player, don't get me wrong. But the top 3 players in this league, Kobe,Wade,LeBron, are miles ahead of everyone else in terms of being able to dominate games single handedly. And while Paul and Howard would be a great team up, Wade and LeBron would stil be the best two players on the court, followed by howard and paul, and then Bosh would be the next best player.

And this fictional team up isnt happening for atleast another couple years, so to say orlando or whoever's supporting cast is gonna be so much better than miami's is impossible to quantify, as we don't know what either team is gonna do the next couple seasons.

You guys know that Paul had his meniscus removed right? That means that sooner, rather than later, he is going to be bone on bone and grinding down his knees. I don't know if he has more than two healthy years left in him. Either that or he is going to have to change his game.

would really have too see who Orlando would end up giving up in a trade scenario but Howard has more room to improve than the other two plus he's a big man. A good big man = a very good other position player IMO. And Miami has no center wirth talking about. I think Howard is 5th as is after Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Durant ( . Considering he's still getting better he could easily move up to 3rd by next year

if they trade jameer nelson adn rashard lewis, there will probably be others but those would be the two big names. Who would their third best player be? vince carter? not exactly the most dependable of guys there, as we saw these past playoffs, and the rest of their role players wouldnt be that much, if at all better than what miami has to offer.

The heat might not have anyone to match up on dwight, but who would the magic have to match up with either wade or lebron, let alone one of them.

And dwight still has room to improve, but statisically he hasnt really improved all that much these past few years, both his rebounding and are down from his career highs, which were two years ago. His FG% has improved a tad since that season, but i think thats more from shooting less than any improvement in his offensive game. So while he may improve, i don't predict any gigantic leap in his ability that will propell him past either wade, lebron or Kobe into the top 3.

    No. your theory is nuts.

If they gave up NOBODY (which is unlikely of course), The Heat would still have the best two players on the court. Which would mean curtains.

Anyway..ask Dwight Howard how he did against Joel Anthony and Jermaine Oneal last year. Not pretty.

again..your hate is clouding your judgment,.

Dwight Howard is good..very good, but he is irrelevant against our defensive system. IRRELEVANT.

You are desperately grasping for straws.

Acceptance is coming very hard for you.

    he is getting better?

which Dwight Howard are you watching?

he is who he is. A defensive dominating center. He is Alonzo Mourning. Except that ZO had a little better offensive game in his prime.

the guy is absolutely dominating in the paint. His outside game is a bit weak but when you're talking about a rebounding vacuum, shot blocker and killer inside presence, I'm not sure where you get he's only a defensive dominating player. With Paul, Howard would easily be scoring in the mid 20s
