I thought about this over and over. I believe during the slow news cycle is the best to discuss this. It's inevitable that this idea resurface's and while its been beat to death we need to come to grips he will be in our stadium on the third week in primetime.

I say the best thing Miami fans could do is support Jason. I know we all have emotional connections to this issue. But this guy gave us alot, and let it all out on the field.

I Believe we could act like jets fans and be bitter and destroy our great players for small reasons, or take the high road and support a player that worked his *** off to support Miami year after yr. Jason may have sold out for one last hurrah but he is a Fin for life IMO.

Im disapointed of course but he still deserves respect. (AND WHERE IS DOLPHIN DEBBY) lol

If we cheer our own we show the class Miami Dolphins have shown since the Shula days.

You bring up the Jets it's hard to argue. But JT was a staple of this team for years.

IMO He is my enemy this yr, after i'll treat him like my Best Friend that hit on my ex-girlfriend while drunk. I pop him in the mouth and say (I LOVE YA MAN)

Edit: had to add the Ex-girlfriend part

After he retires I can see people cheering for him, but while he is in that green, I can't hear any good reason why anybody would root for him...

Anyone who cheers a jest is NOT a Dolphan...Period, end of story...
Maybe, some of us will find it in our hearts to forgive him after he's retired, but for now.....not gonna happen...

Edit: Unless of course, you are cheering for them to lose....

Ya know i was thinking the same way, After retirement is a given IMO.

But when he Hits the stadium week 3, if we boo we show no respect for the work he put in. Its a tough question thats why i propose the idea

Now again this thread was a discussion of how do you treat Jason this season. With respect or hate?

But if Lousaka Headbutts him in the hole , woooooot!

Not while he is wearing the uniform of a team in the East besides MIA.

I hope we sweep his sorry *** and be the ones to knock him out of a playoff spot so he never gets that ring - so long as he's in a Jets uni, or Pats uni, or Bills uni. He's expecting big things in NY, bigger than he thought were possible in MIA, and to hell with him for it.

    For right now.

After he retires = yay thanks JT.

So im thinking, most people we trash him until he retires and takes his one day contract with the Phins. LOL. I would never cheer his play against us.

Im getting from the posts is we do not acknowledge or support him in Miami week 3?

So he his like a man that that dance's like a fairy and married a women that looks like Zach Thomas (He is a handsome man lol).

Like the respect he showed us when he went to D.C. or the Jests? No way I cheer Jason Who? while he is wearing a Jests uniform playing to beat our team. Man has no loyalty or respect, he should have taken a cue from Zach and gone elsewhere.

When he retires, if he returns to Dolphins stadium, THEN I will cheer Jason Who? NEVER while he is a HATED Jet.

I have to agree with this, he has plenty of money. But just because he makes the decision to try one last time at a title do we hate on him?

Nothing more than maybe a polite round of applause when he's introduced. At the most. Some people will boo him. He should understand that since he's wearing gang green now. I wouldn't cheer him for making a play or anything.

I'm going to boo his *** at max every time the stadium announcer says his name. No matter what it is.

A New York Jet is a New York Jet. If Dan Marino became a part of that organization for whatever reason he'd be 110% dead to me as well. Nobody gets special treatment when it comes to "being" a Jet.

I would cheer for JT when he was introduced, but I wouldn't cheer for him during the game. I am actually hoping he has a many sacks this year that end up being meaningless in terms of Jet wins. For example, I would be happy for him to have a couple of three sack games (not against Miami) in games where either the Jets were clearly being blown out or were going to win easily anyways.

Personally, I don't believe in booing for anything other than lack of effort or poor sportsmanship. IMO booing for other reasons is classless. Obviously, many disagree, but that's the principal I adhere to. In JT's case, I respect what he's done for this franchise over the years so I would cheer his introduction. I wouldn't cheer him while he's playing against us or for the Jets during any game (unless it benefitted the Dolphins), but I also wouldn't boo him.

I agree, there's no need to be a bad sport about it. He did a lot for us over the years, and clapping during his introduction is a classy way to handle it. During the game is an entirely different story though.

He didn't feel cheap for shucking the Aqua, Orange and Teal for the Redskins & Jets, so why should I show him any respect ? Screw JT he is dead to me, and I think the team should wait a long, long, long time to put him on the ring of honor, if they ever do, just to send a message, that going to that one team in NY is the one thing you cannot do if you are a true Dolphin in your heart. They are the mortal enemies of the Dolphins....it is an act of treason on par with Benedict Arnold.

It's just gonna be too weird when he's introduced, I think I'll just take the fifth...I think if everyone just goes silent in the stadium it will have a better effect.

Of course we cheer him in the introduction. He'll always be best remembered as a Dolphin. No need to tear down something he's spent his entire career building.

On the real, though...That's gonna be one schizo intro with the smattering of cheers and boos. Cheers and boos (pfffft!) what are we in a bar? hahaha Landshark stadium...duhhh

screw him. the only time i'm going to cheer anything with his name is if the announcer says "ricky behind a polite block steamrolls jason taylor on the way to the endzone"

i hope this season with the jets makes his redskin year look hall of fame.
