BC reminds me very much of the Dolphins early in the season, portions look good, but there is that one flaw that just wrecks any hope of winning. Rumor is Hall lost the locker room last week, with the Gray Cup in Edmonton this yr, a firing may be close to happening. The Evil Empire is more or less the "my little pony, vanilla ice cream with sprinkles" Empire nowadays. Riders got spanked, amazing really, but that is the CFL.
BC has lost Casey Printers with a Torn ACL and MCL. Man, this is going to be a loong season in BC if Travis Lulay or J Jackson or the newly signed Mike Reily cannot play well.
hahahaha I was trying you all po'd ar me hahahaha you didnt fall for it....I dont mind the CFL, dont get me wrong I dont go all Yodi on it like you, but if it is on I'd watch it over Seinfeld anyday!!!!
I pull for the Roughriders so I was just making a joke and needed an excuse to post a picture of their mascot since it's a gopher. You seem like a pretty fun person. Two close games last night. Saskatchewan came up a little short but Durant sure can move around back there.
BC is off to their worst start under Wally Buono, 1-5, they at least finally benched Travis Lulay, who has as much job security as a Heat Season Ticket salesman.. What is worse, now they play the Riders and Alo's 4 of the next 5 games.
http://forum.colts.com/showthread.php?56400-John-Chick/page3 Some early TC attendee impressions of John Chick as he makes the CFL to NFL jump, interesting, I looked for more substantial reviews but came up with a blank.
It's Labour Day!! Time for some football! http://www.atdhe.net/20966/watch-cfl-toronto-argonauts-vs-hamilton-tiger-cats Go Ticats! Argos suck!!
Tell ya what Pads...I do not watch much CFL ..... very little actually .... but one guy I would not mind looking at from what little I have seen is Jason Barnes from Edmonton, he has the look of a super athlete, good COD and some down the field speed...too bad we have 93 developmental WR's around...............
Wr's have a tough time translating to the NFL .02, that one yard standoff at the LoS means escaping Jams at the LoS is not a skill they have when they try to make that jump.
Uggh, BC was making a run, now we have the "Foley Follies" http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100914/sports/fbo_cfl_argos_foley What a piece of work this cat is..sheesh. Great weekend of football: TiCats at BC...Leos going for 3 in a row Winnipeg at Toronto..Argos are reeling, hot start and they just have gone cold. For BC..go..Argos! Game of the Week Friday Riders vs Stamps Sask is another team that cooled off, Stamps are red hot, Sask needs the game and I suspect they get it, Riders are resilent..if unable to count to 12..
I don't know anything about the CFL, but didn't Ken Dorsey play last week?? I heard him on 790 before last Saturday.
I don't think he did, at least play much, he made the Argos and Cleo Lemon has been a horse for them. Cannot find any stats for Dorsey playing. Larry Beavers is in BC, how long before Ed Wang heads up north?
Well, don't be too sad, if he can play he will make it on the field sooner or later. Toronto is rebuilding and in some ways Dorsey is better off not taking the kill shots Lemon has soaked up.
With the NFL preseason package, then college season starting, followed by NFL regular reason starting I haven't really caught any CFL lately. Did enjoy watching it in July though, maybe I can catch the Riders game this week. Is Durant still playing pretty good?
He sort of slumped and threw a bunch of picks. CFL plays on Fridays and Saturdays, which makes it great while waiting for Sunday.
Watching Grice Mullen returning kicks for the Riders, he looks good tbh about it. FSU's Chris Carr landed in Winnipeg to team up with Adarious Bowman, at 6'6 and fast he had 163 yds and 2 TD's in a half. DE Phil Hunt is next in line to make the jump to the NFL: 4.71 40/41 inch vert/ at 260, he is down to 240 in Winnipeg and will wind up with close to 20 sacks, if Wake is James Harrison, Hunt is more Elvis Dumervil at 6'1 but with better hand fighting skills than Cam Wake had when he made the jump. Riders and TiCats BC at Stampeders. BC dodged a bullet when the Blue Bombers petered away a huge lead to the Alouettes last evening. Stevie Baggs landed in Hamilton, had a call from the AZ Cardinals with a NFL offer, he declined and signed in Hamilton for 150k or so. And Khalif Mitchell signed in BC, he is a fine DT prospect who could polish up his game in the CFL.
BC added two import prospects who are good NFL prospects: -DT Khalif Mitchell, played huge role in BC's upset of Calgary at home. -Brandon Sharpe..led the NCAA in sacks in 09 with 15 Sharpe could easily join the list of BC Passrushing DE's who made the jump to the NFL: -Chris Wilson-Redskins -Cameron Wake-Dolphins -Ricky Foley-Seahawks and Jets. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=71735&draftyear=2010&genpos=DE -4.71 40 -35 inch vertical Finished his career at Texas Tech with 16 sacks, he sat behind TT's previous passrushing DE. Great pickup by BC heading into the final 6 games
Thought Hurricane Fans would like to read about how Amp Reddick is doing in the CFL: http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Rookie+Reddick+amps+play/3629857/story.html#ixzz11bfb7vV9 CFL defenses use a sorta Safety/OLB hybrid because the field is so wide, Reddick's physical style and speed have fit right in up in the CFL.
Interesting: Never thought of Wright as a potential CFL player, he was a good prospect coming out of Texas, that shoulder just cut off his career. As the season is winding down: East: Alouettes TiCats Argonauts West: Stampeders Riders Final playoff spot is coming down to the Eskimos vs the BC Lions, with the Esks holding a tie breaker edge.
final weekend, the only games of note: Sunday Riders vs Eskimos, the Riders are on a 4 game losing streak, the Esks need a win to clinch a playoff slot, ex Dolphin Rod Wright will make his first CFL start Saturday BC Lions vs Hamilton TiCats, the Cats have nothing to play for as they have wrapped up a home playoff game, the Lions need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive
Ahh, last games that matter of week #19: BC Lions 23 Hamilton Ticats 21 Edmonton Eskimos 23 Sasky Riders 31 BC Lions, after starting 1-7, cutting their QB Casey Printers, have made the playoffs! In honor, my Avy has been changed to a picture of the CFL's all time winningest Coach, Wally Buono, and like Coaches at every level of football, he was speaking of next week when interviewed and has mastered: The Trumpet look, where the coach or GM appears ready to blow a bugle..don't know why every Coach I've ever seen does this, it must be on the last page of the "How to be a Head Coach" manual.
