You do realize LeBron also has higher field goal percentage, assists, rebounds, blocks and whatever other stat you want to use as well right, cause thats what we are talking about? He hasnt just outscored kobe for their careers, hes been flat out better in every measurable way.

Stop posting stupid pictures. I can do that to if you want to completely ruin this thread, since you lost the argument.

    elimination games?

    Okay.

Now you are trying to make the stats harder to look for?

But that can be found as well.

he has played in 18 elimination games. He is 12-6 in those 18 games.

To NOT give him credit for ANY wins...lets just count his stats in the losses:

In elimination games that he lost: 30.0 ppg 42.5% FG 9.3 RPG 6.6 APG

This guy is better than I thought.

The question is, do you have ANY argument worth a damn?

Points per game is not the measure.

we are using ALL of the stats.

FG% RPG, APG, as well as PPG.

    then using PER.

    Iverson's terrible FG% doesn't even qualify him for the top 10 all-time.

    lebron didn't play in College.

He hoisted two trophies by your definition. He has two HS championships.

Miami Humidity? Overhyped? The NY Jets of basketball?

When you resort to BS and veiled baiting, you are admitting defeat.

lebron = loser. i am not looking for an argument. i am making a statement. putting together specious arguments based on fantasy basketball isnt an argument either. he's gotten his wish and fled the city of cleveland to play second fiddle to wade in his quest for a ring. if he fails, his reputation of being a loser will be cemented for all time. no stats needed just a fact. win and redeem your reputation. lose and cement it

The Opening Pitch: Yikes, that's going to leave a mark.

Last night's loss -- the embarrassing conclusion to the Cavs' humiliating ouster from the NBA Playoffs -- is the defining moment of LeBron's career so far.

Hold on: That is not to say LeBron isn't a brilliant player and hasn't had the single-greatest 7-year start to a career of any player in NBA history. And that is not to say he can't eventually win a title and create a new defining moment.

But for now -- today -- LeBron leads the ranks of Ewing, Barkley, Malone and Stockton: Playoff failure. The NBA is not baseball; it isn't about individual career milestones -- it is about defining individual moments. It is about championships.

Part of LeBron's defining moment is losing at all. Whether he was bounced in 6 or 7, in the conference semis or the NBA Finals, in blowouts or at the buzzer, the expectation for LeBron this season was "championship or bust." Well ...

But part of it is the way he went out: Like a punk. Three straight losses. A near-sweep. A collapse. Individually iffy. Game 5 wasn't even close. Game 6 didn't feel close, either.

The lasting stat: Not LeBron's triple-double, but his 9 turnovers. The lasting image: The way the Cavs helplessly stood there as the final minute wound down, not even attempting to foul to try to create a miracle ending.

Once unimaginable, there is a legitimate question whether LeBron and the Cavs quit on this series.

At least at the final buzzer, LeBron shook hands and offered hugs to the Celtics. He looked either shell-shocked or indifferent, depending on your feelings about LeBron.

He had a fair reaction for someone whose career just hit a defining new low.

Thats absolutely ridicuslous. It doesn't matter how great an individual player is, without a great team around him, he isn't going to win a championship.

A great team is ALWAYS going to beat a great individual.

What was the defining moment of Jordans career before he won it all?

football is different, so is baseball and hockey for that matter. basketball due to the small roster elevates the individual performance and makes getting a ring necessary unlike the other sports where you are a minor percent of your roster.

Jordan from 1987 to 1990 went out "like a punk" to the Detroit Pistons.

he lost three times in a row to the exact same team.

You can interpret it however you want but when its done for about two years I consider it to be stringing along.

As far as New York... i simply refer you back to that "Haters gonna hate" slogan thats posted like 47x in this thread. It quite funny that you say the Knicks werent being fought over to go there yet they signed the 3rd best free agent (amar'e), the 7th best free agent (Felton) and were able to sign and trade the 5th best free agent for a combination of excellent young talent (Anthony Randolph) and cap friendly contracts (Turiaf and Azubuike).

The only thing that could have gone better this offseason for the Knicks would have been getting lebron or wade. Wade I never felt was a realistic option because I never felt he was leaving Miami and Lebron I was simply disappointed didnt come.

Dude thats just getting carried away, the heat are good. Really good. The Knicks NEED Cp3 or Deron and Carmelo just to have a chance. :wink2:

Dude, calling people idiots just isnt gonna fly. The debate here has been heated and maybe myself and others havent set the best example but thats just not how we roll on this board.

Didn't the Heat get the top 3 free agents? Amare being the 4th best? Boozer the 5th and David lee falling either 6th or 7th behind Joe Johnson?

How is not a failure for the Mighty Knicks to settle for the 4th best after the crappy market Heat get the top 3?

IMO, this offseason was an unmitigated disaster for the Knicks. An even bigger disaster for the Bulls because they got actively played with by Wade, and they flat out settled for Boozer.

There have been several studies that have concluded that there's really no such thing as being "clutch" or "not clutch" for professional athletes. There was a huge one done with baseball players that basically showed that almost all players played the same in the post-season and regular season. The differences in the post-season for some players were the result of a smaller sample size. As players played longer and increased their number of post-season appearances, their post season numbers pretty much became identical to their regular season numbers. It mostly became a matter of luck then as to whether a player became known as clutch or not. If a player had good performances early in their post-season at bats they were labeled as clutch by the fans. If they struggled early then they were labeled as chokers by the fans. But over time their numbers showed they were no more or less effective in the post-season than they were in the regular season. A-rod is a good example. He struggled early in the post-season so he was labeled as a choker, but if you look at his numbers now they pretty much equal his regular season numbers.

A guy like Kobe had some big performances in the post-season, but he also had some stinkers. Yet the less objective fans will still label him as clutch and will forget or just de-emphasize the bad games. Reality is that given enough appearances Kobe will be as good of a player in the post-season as he was in the regular season.

You can expect the same from LBJ. He has been one of the best regular season performers and one of the best post-season performers. That will probably continue. Some fans will focus on one good or bad performance and use it as proof of a player being clutch or not clutch, but really all they are proving is their ignorance.

Then every single player who listen to more than one team's pitch and said anything good about those teams was stringing teams along.

And Chicago and Miami also signed many to FAs. Basically among the teams with cap space, you saw the FAs spread fairly evenly except for Miami which simply had the most cap space. Miami didn't get the FAs b/c it was the greatest city. It had some things to offer just like any other big city, but you can't argue that FAs chose Miami over NY b/c it was a better city. The truth is Miami got the most/best FAs primarily b/c it had cap space and a respected organization. That's what mattered most. NY is a great city, but it's not the only one. It's not the place every FA wants to play. It's just another option among many other great cities.

I don't know if I agree that 'clutch' doesnt exist. I think when you get in certain situations, you'll see a rise in the level of play from all players, just based on the circumstances.

I think the fact that people still believe Kobe is a better clutch player than LeBron is unbelievable and borderline criminal.

82games keeps stats for 'clutch' situations:

    http://www.82games.com/0910/CSORT11.HTM

The difference between LeBron and Kobe is the same as the difference between Kobe and Aaron Brooks.

Theres even more evidence, and its pretty overwhelming in favor of LeBron
