I'll believe it when I see it come September. Grandpa Favre has flip-flopped many times in the last 5 years.

I will refrain from discussing how the Dolphins matchup with their opponents in the Dolphins forum this season.

    Apologies.

This Drama Queen of all Drama Queens will be there when we play them, count on it. This is they typical Favre crap. He was feeling left out because of all the attention TO was getting the last couple of weeks. He needs some attention and this is his grab for it.

Well, its Favre so I expect there will soon be reports that he is returning followed by more reports that he's retiring and so on, but he is still a great talent and in a QB driven league his health will make a big difference in the difficulty of our game against Minny. With Favre there I give Minny the advantage. Without Farve, I think the game is a toss up. Now it's the NFL so every game is winnable (or losable) but potentially our early schedule could get a bit easier.

Well this isn't actually confirmed by him or the team [yet], so who knows. But, if he does retire, that should help the Dolphins. This team hasn't won their opening game since 2005, and hasn't started 2-0 since 2002.

Now, you would think they have a golden opportunity facing the Bills [which is in Buffalo, so it's not a gimme, but you can't blame the weather or anything.] and the Vikings in week 2 who won't have an elite QB.[if this is all true]. Let's hope they are motivated to start hot. That game vs Atlanta last year they looked like zombies.

How happy are the Vikings that they decided not to take a young QB early in the draft this year.

Joe Webb is who they took. Rick Spielman to the rescue.

My take on the matter is that right now I am taking as if one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL is retiring. I am taking out the past few years he has done this and giving him the reverence he deserves.

However, and this is a big however, if he changes his mind again (like so many think he will), then I will completely lose all respect for him for once and for all.

To clarify, my intent was to discuss the matchup now that their QB position has (apparently) taken this hit.

With so much being made of this team's inability to start strong, this is a good news.

Jackson could start strong though. He had a good run towards the end of 2008. And he's got wheels.

They have nobody to blame but themselves though. They knew this would happen at some point.

Vikings I'm now hearing are prepared to do whatever they need, including giving more $$ and more time, to get Favre to reconsider

Favre is the hot girlfriend, the Vikes are the dude he has wrapped around his little finger. He just wants attention, and to know he is loved. Once he has both of those things, he becomes disinterested. I tried to tell this to Jets fans.

maybe we can trade them pennington. might be able to get an overvalued draft pick considering they are a super bowl contender if they get good qb play

It's not the money and time he wants.......it's the attention. The commissioner should step in, force his hand and stop letting him hijack every freakin preseason.

Pending he does retire, then Miami has a serious shot at starting the season at 2-0 in 2 road games with 2 home games upcoming. Hopefully they can win 1 of the games between the Jets or Patriots, then we'd be 3-1 heading into the bye week.

I'll take that considering I think there's like a 10% chance we go and win in GB.

This is actually really good news for us because as strong as T. Jackson was at the end of 2008, he hasn't played significant snaps since and is sure to still be rusty and catching back up to the speed of the game by week 2. And for our team with a questionable secondary, this is big

Farve will be in the hall of fame the old man has game. Hopefully he retiires I really would like starting this season with a winning record. Our chances improve if we don't see flip flop on to the field.

Actually when Pennington was initially cast adrift for Favre , I thought Minnesota would be a pretty much perfect landing spot for him.

I don't want to see it now however, barring a Godfather offer of course . Sure Thigpen may enter the tought process here as well from the Vikings.

Part of me hopes this soap opera continues with Favre making a belated comeback during the season only to break Childress heart again by lobbing a bingo to seal their season exit.

I wasn't too afraid of the Vikings even with Favre at the helm. If we played that game close, Favre would have been guaranteed to choke at some point.

That said, I'll believe he's done when the 2010 regular season passes and he hasn't played.

The Vikes are loaded and they are very tough to play at their home.

Week 2 without Favre? I select that option to try and steal a road victory

The Vikings are a very good team. But their defense isn't quite what it used to be, and their pass defense in particular is suspect. On offense, Favre and Peterson love committing turnovers. Those two are prime examples of the double-edged sword.

They're a beatable team even with Favre.

Favre's like the girl who wants to hear you say she's pretty before she'll **** you.

Once people kiss his *** because he said this his ego will be satisfied and he'll play.

I like Pennington and Thigpen right where they are, and I doubt this is the final chapter of Favre Watch, but imagine the irony of either those guys going to the Vikings.

Favre went to the Jets and replaced Pennington, and then Penny would go to the Vikings and replace Favre.

Thigpen was drafted by the Vikings in the 7th round... hopefully they would have to give up more than that to get him back.
