Well, I'm disappointed. Both for the team and the player. But, I'd rather it happen now, as opposed to right before the season starts (or, in season). Now, the FO has a chance to fall back and come up with another game plan (assuming he was penciled in as the third down/pass coverage LB as has been suggested). Hopefully, Crowder, Dobbins and the rest will step up and make Edds loss less significant.

Hopefully, he is fully recovered and even more motivated come this time next year. Let's hope so anyway.

    Go Phins! :marble:

This does suck, but hopefully he can fully recover. I think Spitler has a good shot to step in and make the squad.

    well we're really down

    1) jason ferguson for the last eight games and playoffs
    2) phillip merling who may or not have stepped up his game ala Soliai if early reports are any indication
    3) aj edds 3rd down, passing situation LB

so far these are all manageable but we are losing depth and we havent even played a preseason game. i'm getting a bit worried. hopefully this all ends now

Sucks. Could of really used him in the nickel defense. That being said, all is not lost. Yeremiah Bell played well as a nickel LB last year. His coverage is underrated, he can really cover man to man. Culver would then come in at SS. Seems like the best option to me. I have no confidence in Crowder or Dobbins in coverage. Folsom has some coverage ability but meh. Can't say I know too much about Spitler's coverage ability.

The Fins have signed Micah Johnson, who is projected as more of a plugger because of his lack of speed. Maybe you guys are onto something with suggesting three safety nickel sets.

Prez..........He is definetly small but he makes up for his lack of size by being slow .....ran 4.96 at combine but ran 4.7 at pro day but to be fair he does play much faster...just not that special of an athlete IMHO but good college player......
