Brian hartline is one hell of a football player. I am excited to watch him breakout this year.

Hey I am black but it doesn't matter to me whether a person is black or white or whatever. I wasnt raised like that to look at a person's race. Know what I mean.

Yeah, I know this is not the right place to continue this talk about race but, it shouldn't be that way anyway.

Really? All the black dudes I know (I've played ball a lot of years and had a lot of teammates) say black I don't think that would offend them at all.

As for people who say black athletes are better than white ones. IMO I think it's because you see more black athletes train harder and really put the time in. When someone like Brian Hartline comes it, it should show you that ANYONE no matter what race you are if you put in the time and training you can be as good as anyone. The funny thing is that most white people believe the stereotype and at least from my black friends I know they know it's all hard work and training. Talent is nice but if you have at least some you can mold yourself into damn near anything you want if you try hard enough.

I say this with experience of training with about 10-15 guys consistently over "my" offseasons and I'm the only white dude out there. Not NFL players by any means but a lot of guys with college experience. I think more NFL coaches are seeing that and IMO there's more white WR and RBs and more black QBs than there ever has. Race is overrated period.

This article seems about 1 season to late. I think Hartline surprised many people, but in more ways than just his speed last year.

We are all homo sapiens no matter what our skin color is .Lets stick to the topic and avoid racial comments as someone will surely misinterpret what someone else has said and the thread may have to be closed . Posts will be deleted and sanctions given to those who persist...

I had to run in the bathroom and look in the mirror realfast to see what I am but forgot to turn the light on so I only saw black. Whew with that out of the way I still hope Hartline shines this year with marshall doing the same.

Exactly, it was well known that he had respectable speed. His speed isn't blazing. Of all the receivers who are most likely to make the team he is the fastest.

What's wrong with just saying "black guy"? I mean, it's not like we know for sure the black person is in fact an "African-American". Might be a w/e-American or not American at all.
