I love that Sparano is giving our rookies a chance to start from the getgo. Odrick, Misi and Jerry have all been playing exclusively with the first team and now sit atop the depth chart at their respective positions. Love the confidence he is showing in these guys. Of course it probably doesnt hurt that these guys were all seniors when drafted and had seen the field for most of their college careers, so its not a total surprise that theyve been so successful early on.
Well that and Thiggy and White having a equal shot, that to me speaks volumes about Sparano as normally the out of favor Qb is saddled with the scrub center who cannot snap the ball properly, and sees maybe..8 plays. I love the way Sparano does things, I also think sometimes he does not make decisions quickly enough, the Dolphins players will love that extra time, but the slow starts are the price to be paid for not making hard choices early in the process.
Ive seen the same weaknesses since he's been here, haven't seen any improvement in his game or his body...That's fine if you think he's more than adequate, I don't, but I hope iam wrong....you see imo, it has nothing to do with the guy playing next to him, it's about his lack of strength to hold any point of attack, and his lack of reactionary explosiveness....that's not gonna change, it might be masked to a degree, and he may have a bit more space to roam, but the player has been exposed.
Sparano said not to read too much into this roster though and said it was based more off of OTA's and whatnot. IF Misi doesn't pick things up than we could see Ike getting more reps. If Wake doesn't hold the point than we'll see more Anderson. Odrick is a MAN and will start IMO. Langford and Starks as well. I'd like to see Nolan Carroll get a heavy dose of reps in the preseason, guy is solid. Wallace has begun to get noticed a bit and I'd LOVE to see a big guy with speed beat out Turner/RGM for the #5 spot. As for the O-line, Sparano will tinker with that a couple more weeks before setting the line. IMHO he would like to see Jones or Thomas on one side and Incognito on the other. He'd also like to see Grove step up and take control of the C battle.
Agreed, especially on the OL, that unit above all is probably the one that needs the most reps together as starters to gel. Any OL on any team usually needs the most time together to form into a cohesive unit.... Problem is with Miami's, the jury is still out on who??
I haven't heard anything, good or bad, mentioned about Dobbins so far in camp. Anyone else hear anything about his play so far?
