Well I didn't play Madden 10 however the way I took the Madden 11 demo, the time runoff feature is a Madden 11 feature as part of the whole "Gameflow" feature which is meant to simply the game and make games go by faster. I'm not 100% on that though. Also I know a ranked game should be a game where when you play it you'll either go up in rank or go down depending on your win/loss ratio but once again I am assuming. Also I'd assume that you could have auto-strafe turned off online just like you could on the offline modes.
I'll have Madden tomorrow. Hopefully be back online by the end of the week. I ended up getting the new 360 console.
Wow, PS3 version sold out at Walmart.... First game I've ever seen sold out at Walmart at midnight. Why? There's nothing special about it. I probably won't even bother to get it for a while now. It's not worth me going store to store to look for. NCAA and Madden are major disappointments.
Because this game is fun. I don't know how you can call it a major dissapointment without playing it.
Just having linemen block and wide receivers able to stay in bounds on side line catches make it worth the purchase to me.
Madden needs a overhaul. I'm sick of seeing the same ol bull**** where the game is driven by pure animations. Will just wait for a week and get it used.
So true. One problem I have with it is returning kick offs. Is it as hard in the actual game as it is in the demo? I barely get to the 20 yard line.
Just found a deal on buy.com where you can pick the game up for $40 with free shipping. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2171942 Just use the links given in that first post for either the 360 or PS3 version. If the game says out of stock just keep refreshing...I had to refresh about 3 times before I got in on the PS3 version for $40. Now for the new Madden at $40 I really can't complain.
i just got madden 11 last night and i want to join a league and yes i do want the dolphins as my team is anyone going to be starting a league up???????
I'd be interested. Depending on shipping time it could be the end of next week before I have my copy though. Of course mine is for the PS3.
Hey so is there a way to change sub packages (i.e. Wake as a DE in the nickle instead of an OLB) without doing it in game?
Just something I came across that may affect people buying the game used who will want to play online: Point is, if you buy Madden 11 used and the guy before you cashed in his "EA Online Pass" (he got with the new game) when he owned the game then you will have to buy a new code for $10. Sucks for people like me who had bought their last 3 Madden games used. There could be ways to get free codes online or something but I'm not sure. So just thought I'd pass this along. The older maddens allowed these things but they rarely worked right I think Madden 2001 is the last time I saw one of these work well. Some stuff theyve done away with over the years I guess because of the fact either people didnt use it or they couldnt get it to work.
I thought you would like that. I'm by no means a die hard but I love football so I'll end up playing it. However the buy in a week may not happen I might not get it for months. I want Starcraft 2.
hey i am talkin to my buddy and me and him are going to be starting up a league for 360.Teams are taken right now are the dolphins and the bucs.
Some points -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The commentary. Gus Johnson is actually a refreshing addition. He seems pumped about every play and it's very effective in submerging the gamer into the moment (if only for a second). Get rid of Chris Collinsworth, please. He and Gus do not work well together. Gus gets you into the moment, and Chris promptly kills the effect with one of his boring-*** generic spiels in his boring-*** semi-monotone pre-recorded-sounding voice. They butchered the sound track. Absolutely butchered it. They "cleaned" up most of the tracks into oblivion. Welcome to the Jungle for example; it now sucks. I went into AFL mode and thought for a second my eyes had been raped. Nope, Vintage mode; EA now prefers their gamers blind. Who thought this would ever be a good idea? "Yeah, you know what would make playing Madden even better? If we could play without any green color at all. Never mind that the PLAYING FIELD is GREEN." Physics feel like Madden 09 for some reason. Maybe it's the fact that players sprint 100 of the time now, but the game feels like it's being played faster. Running the ball is actually fun now. Holes between the tackles are more accessible (if that makes any sense), and once in the open field Ronnie will stiff arm you into next week. Call me a noob, but I like the dual-stick controls and also not having to keep track of when to sprint. However, a problem I seem to be having is my BLOCKERS ARE NOT KEEPING UP on pitches/swing plays so I either have to wait on them and get tackled, or go ahead of them and get tackled. Hopefully this gets fixed with a patch. Player/environment textures are nicer, and the stadiums are more realistic. Lighting effects have improved and daytime/nighttime games seem more authentic. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nitpicks / side notes Most of the pre-game cut scenes didn't seem necessary to me. The getting-off-the-bus / locker room scenes are meh, and don't do any service to EA Tiburon's job of player modeling / animation. Why did they feel the need to add the Saints/Brees pre-game countdown chant to EVERY OTHER TEAM? They made a not-so generic pre-game into a totally generic pre-game. Dolphins anthem is a very nice touch. Hopefully I don't get tired of hearing it 6 times a game every game. The post-game stadium environment seems very authentic. Greg Camarillo and Rich Incognito have no face O_O
I've played 4 games in franchise now, and Collinsworth has used the same exact "the players to watch are the two quarterbacks, they've been here before" pregame line all 4 games... Already sick of him...
Im actually pleasantly surprised with the game this year. The running game seems much improved, im not a fan of auto sprint, I'll keep it off and sprint for myself thanks. Sideline catches are nice since they finally work, new stadium sounds are cool, for the phins, jeopardy song during challenges and stuff, as well as some other stadium authentic music. Pretty bummed out franchise hasn't changed at all though. All in all I'm happy with it.
I played the demo and I played several full games on a friend's modded Xbox weeks ago. Of course I gave in and bought it today.... I was just pissed on a wasted trip to Walmart last night at 12am. It's really Madden 10 with slight improvements. Happy to see some actual blocking and lead blocking though, as well as receivers being aware of the out of bounds line. Authentic stadium music adds to the atmosphere as well. I just think they dropped the ball.... made some huge strides last year, and rather than improving on the new additions that people liked from last year they leave everything as is and bring in this garbage game flow crap. Didn't even touch Extra Point and other presentation aspects. The game play feels a bit different in a good way and I'll probably play it more than any next gen Maddens so far. Still.... I think they could have done a much better job overall. They keep adding these useless noob-friendly features instead of improving things that the true Madden heads have been begging for improvements for years. At least franchise mode is supposedly going to be completely revamped next year. I was pissed about franchise mode being left untouched, aside from stat fixes and other minor things.
I hate the strategy pad on defense. It's fine on offense, but it takes way too long to do all the pre-snap adjustments I want with the d-pad. They always hike the ball while I'm trying to freaking navigate it. I also need to get used to the kicking. I thought using the thumbstick was fine. No sprint is ok by me, but I turned auto-strafe off.
i think it's hilarious that Sporano is fatter than Rex Ryan in this game. That alone should warrant a negative review
Yeah I noticed that with the demo. I had to start doing adjustments as soon as I left the play selection screen. It's a bit of a pain because I like to change my D-Line, LBs, and Secondary coverage before the snap. Since they are dumbing down Madden I guess they figure no one would ever use that anyway.
Played it 3 times so far. Havent seen any pro-tAK BS where a Rb breaks 9 tackles at once. Receivers actually have sideline awareness. Calling hot routes is now a pain in the ***. (at least until i re-learn the new buttons) Returned one kick for a TD with Kory Sheets. Twas epic. Koa Misi effing sucks.
The roster update bumps Misi up to a 71. It also adds Cobbs, Grant, and Douglas to the roster, but it takes off Ferguson and Sheets. Also bumps our team overall up to a 84 from a 79
Where/when did you get the update? I played last night and we were at 84 OVR, but it didn't have Cobbs, Grant, or Douglas.
I had a pretty nice punt return td with Bess. I never returned a punt for a td in 10' on anything other than pro level. I hate the strategy pad but I'm sure I will get use to it. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk
So is this a must have? Havent bought Madden since 09 i think How does it compare to ncaa11? I just bought that but havent opened it
Maybe in your world. In my franchise he is a beast. He had 2 pick 6s in one game and 4 tckl, 2 sacks, and fumb recovery in another.
