This would explain why there hasn't been a Borderlands DLC release since the last Ice Age.

Basically, it looks like Take Two has the rights to at least Duke Nukem Forever, if not the Duke Nukem franchise, and has contracted Gearbox to finish the damn thing. Also explains why Duke Begins was canceled. Why make a spin-off from scratch when the real thing is halfway completed?

This game will top 1 million sales just out of sheer curiosity as to what could have taken 13+ years to develop. For those not keeping track, Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 1997 running on the Quake 2 engine.

    1997. Quake 2.

    Yeah. It's been a while.

    Definitely.

But you know what the amazing thing is? This is a series largely coasting on its accomplishments from 1996. There have been some spin-off titles on the PSOne and Game Boy and the like, but no one cares. DNF still gets attention because Duke 3D was that damn good.

DN was what got me to fps games, so I would like this to true, but not gonna hold my breathe. Like u said it will sell tons of games just from the name alone.

It'll sell a million copies just so people can find out what took so long.

At this point they're probably better off with a full-on remake of Duke 3D.
