so now we've got dueling invasion angles on WWE and TNA... i like how the NXT thing has played out so far, and the ECW invasion was handled well tonite on TNA.

I also liked how the NXT angle has played out but seriously another ECW invasion? It will ultimately end up failing just like the last 10 of them. ECW is dead and has been for a long time now (just like TNA will be in another year or so).

Rumor has it that Paul Heyman may be handed the book in TNA. If so, I anticipate a lot of changes at the top of the card. Paul has always been one of the most creative and innovative minds in the business. Him booking the likes of The Pope, Wolfe, Styles, Joe and others intrigues me. I hope it comes true.

That would be good news for TNA. Heyman is a very good booker in my opinion. He did some really good things with ECW, obviously, and when he had the book with Smackdown (which when he had the power Smackdown was a much better show than RAW was at the time).

Smackdown has never been as good as it was when Paul ran it IMO.

i see where you are coming from, but just thought it played out nicely the other night. i felt the same way about the NXT invasion: oh geez, another invasion angle, but have liked it thus far. i felt like, the day the Hogan Bischoff regime came in, TNA's days are numbered. i just didn't see how financially they would be able to pay Hogan and all his cronies and stay afloat. thankfully the majority of his cronies like the Nasty's, Hall, and Waltman are already gone.

what i liked about the other night, was the the numbers of former ECW guys they brought out, with the behind the scenes guys like Al Snow, etc. might've just been from the nostalgia of it, though.

and of course, almost none of those guy can work anymore, and none of the guys who can are really over in any way, give or take RVD.

would like to see Paulie get some creative input, that could be a good thing.

Well played sir. But seriously, Kane? That's just stupid booking and he won't draw since he hasn't in 10 years. That's exactly what WWE fans are begging for too, another Kane vs. Undertaker feud. It just is strange and backwards booking since the WWE is absolutely loaded with good young talented heels. It would have been much smarter to give one of them the rub instead.

i don't mind it on a short term basis. it is pretty well guaranteed he won't hold the strap long. maybe Taker wants to do a program with him before retiring, and this way it would have some significance.

glad to see Miz get the MITB win... he has become an afterthought lately. could see him cashing it in at SS, after the main events.

Yeah I mean I'm sure Kane winning was a reward for 15 years of service with the WWE and I can't see anyway he holds the belt past Summer Slam. I guess I'm ok with it, however I still don't see why the WWE took the belt off of Jack Swagger in the first place. But I guess the powers that be once again are down on him.

And yes it was great to see The Miz get a big win last night. He's probably been the most improved wrestler in the past year and is really clicking right now.

The Triple Threat match that opened up RAW was pretty good. Orton has to walk out of SS with the title, he's just on fire right now.

Thoughts on Cenas team? I was kind of surprised by The Great Khali. Thought he could have done better than him.

Yeah I'm sure the WWE is just trying to get him over by hanging out with Cena's team. You can't have every major superstar on Cena's team either because then you weaken the under card a bit. So I don't really mind Khali there, plus if Cena's team ends up losing who do you think Nextus is going to pin to get the victory?

The real Chris Jericho DVD match listing has been released today. Looks awesome especially the ladder match vs. HBK. There are no Benoit matches on the set and no word on whether or not he'll be mentioned on the doc part of the DVD. Can't wait until the end of September to pick it up.

I don't understand why Nexus had to lose that match last night. I think it would have been better if The Miz cost Cena's team the match. It does nothing for Cena to get the win. The rest of the card looked kind of weak too with a lot of screwy endings.

I am fine with Cena's team winning, provided that Daniel Bryan is standing tall at the end of the match with Cena. It would have made his return that much better. The card seemed annoying overall. From Kane winning to Kofi's match, it was lackluster.

I just don't see how Cena winning could help him? Why not have Nexus win or like you said have Bryan be the 'sole survivor' of the team or at least get the winning fall. I'm shocked at how bad the PPV sounded, especially being the 2nd biggest of the year.

I guess it's possible. NEXUS is suppose to stick around until October, so they could help him win the title and then he could go into a title match that if he loses the belt NEXUS has to disband.

anybody catch Chris Benoit's dad on ABC news' early Nightline show last night? it was an hour special that was exploring the possibility of people with abnormal frontal lobes of the brain, and of this as a possible precursor to them becoming killers and psychopaths.

the first half of the show was interviews with 2 serial killers about how they lacked emotion and remorse when committing their acts, followed by scientists who study the human brain and how they can identify the brain scans of psychopaths easily when compared to normal people. they would mix in the brain scans of known killers with 100's of normal human brains, and they could spot them easily because of this one abnormality.

they went on to detail the Benoit family murder suicide and had Chris's dad on there, even discussing at length that steroids use was and is the popular reason to explain away the tragedy.

the Benoit family agreed to have Chris's brain studied and low and behold, according to the scientists they talked to, his brain showed so much trauma and damage, likely from multiple concussions, that they claimed he would have been declared brain damaged by medical doctors had they done the tests that the scientists performed postmortem.

they showed and compared slides of Benoit's brain to those of the killers, and what normal frontal lobes look like, and bascily said their is a direct correlation to multiple concussions and the deterioration seen in his brain. and Benoit's brain had deteriorated to a state similar to those of the psychopaths.

Benoit's dad said he could see his son's mental state slipping over time, but not in terms of violent behavior, more so in memory capacity, depression, headaches and mood swings.

not that it excuses what he did at all, but it made for some interesting TV.

anyone watch NXT finally and see the huge 6'9 chick that will be in the all girl NXT season starting next week? I can see a Big Show story line in the future. They would look sick walking to the ring though.
