That's the first I heard of it. I remember Sporano lauding him for his decision making and high completion percentage.

I know the Defense was winning a lot of camp battles and sacked him a few times, but I'd attribute that to the lack of continuity on the o-line and Nolan dialing up exotic blitzes to see how they work.

Tim Graham rates Pennington over Henne. Hmmmmm. That comment alone just makes me think Graham doesnt follow the Miami Dolphins much.

    Cheers Sick for correcting me.
To say that Pennington right now would be a better suit for Marshall than Henne is a strange comment. Penningtons arm has had surgery and was never a cannon-armed downfield passer which suits Marshall. Henne, if he progresses more, will be fine with Marshall.

Well if we are to be honest, no, Henne had little or nothing to do with the 21 points put up in game two against the JETS. That game was won by two players no longer on this team.:wink2:

As for what Marshall will be allowed to do on this team, to be honest, I am holding my breath to see if our OC will "Feed the Wolf!"

How quickly people forget how he led our team down the field for what would be the game clinching TD (pass to Haynos) with about 8:30 left in the fourth quarter.

Henne's numbers weren't unspectacular in that game because he played poorly. There were essentially 3 possessions our offense didn't have because of Ginn (x2) and JT. Given how he played overall that day, it's not crazy to assume he would've played just as well as he did on the monday night game.

Yeah, Henne sucks. He will throw for 4,000 yds, leading our Phins into the playoffs, while Orten and Cutler sit and watch.

Take it to the bank, it will happen.

Sorry, I didn't forget anything, I was being honest. If that shoe bothers you, well ........

I also didn't make any negative remarks about saint Henne though he was up and down all season.

I will hope for the best with Henne while expecting nothing, call me Mr. Show Me if you want but I'll not anoint Henne King just yet, thank you.:wink2::hi5:

You said he did little or nothing. That may be "honest" in your book, but it certainly isn't true.

You didn't forget (ahem), you just chose to focus on 21 points Henne didn't have anything to do with and then whiff on the most important part of the game...clutch time....against the #1 defense in the league...he comes through for a TD. That kind of stuff is important for a QB. Youre going to be called out for that on this board.

I agree but you know how people are...they will go against their better judgement to be rah rah rah.

Overall, Henne needs to show improvement and not keep being so inconsistant.

Whether Coach Sparano mentioned him or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that he himself has complained about inconsistancy this TC.

We are seeing that play out during the games.

I think Henne has a world of potential....HOWEVER he has some serious flaws.

Those flaws can be covered up with a decent OLine and unfortunately our line has been mediocre at best this pre-season.

When those 5 are playing well, its no wonder that Henne plays lights out. But when they are off, the running game gets stalled and the passing game hasn't matured enough to carry the load all by itself.

We'll see what happens but look for Henne to be replaced if we start off slow again and he puts up shoddy numbers.

Henne needs to get in that film room and learn to read defenses better.

MARINO was a master at that and why when they took away his ability to audible (Jimmy Johnson), he started to struggle.

Oh let me count the ways:
Three games with ratings in the 40's
two games with ratings in the 60's
    and
    three games in the 70's

Thats 8 of 13 where he was less than stellar and 4 games where he threw more INTs than TDs.

I would call that inconsistant at its finest, how about you? As for being called out, have at it my friend.:hi5:

A voice of reason, thank you kind sir. Its funny that some get so upset yet all they have to do is read my post over a long period of time. I've never been against Henne and truly hope he will suceed, why?, cause I'm tired of the QB merry-go-round we have been on for the last 10 years. Yet I will not just hand him the keys to the kingdom because of some need to fill in the blanks. He's got to earn it and thus far he has not done so in my book!

The one thing that bothers me most about this guy is the appearence of his lack of urgency while on the field. The staff must see it also or why else keep using the clock during practice. It was clear that the moment Penny stepped on to the field Friday night that there was a different rhythm. And its not because Henne is just starting because in watching other preseason games this year I've taken note of some of the other first and second year QBs, Henne looks slow to read and react compared to others.

Will this stop him from being good, or good enough, I surely hope not but I don't feel he has taken the next step, at least not from what I've seen so far this preseason.

What is this? Reminiscing about Payton Manning's first season as a starter? :shifty:

The wierd thing is that I commented on a particular game you offered up for ridicule... a clutch performance you chose to ignore..... and you bring up all these other games...they have nothing to do with the 2nd game against the Jets! It was a clutch performance, regardless of what the statistics are, in that game or any other game! Statistics mean nothing in the grand scheme. Ws and Ls are the thing, and Ws are built on clutch performances. There is no more clear a "voice of reason" than that...unless you are compiling stats for your own mental (whatever), I will be concentrating on Ws that could have been Ls if not for a clutch performance by the QB.

Ah, clutch performance and winning versus losing. Shall we meet after this season and compare notes. If only Henne had Peyton's ability, dreamer.:hi5:

A guy starting his first 13 games wasn't perfect? Say it ain't so!

Never mind the defense was spotting opposing teams 20+ points all December, forcing us away from the run and putting it all in Henne's hands.

Never mind his "no.1" receiver was afraid of his own shadow.

Never mind he's throwing to a 2nd year undrafted WR, and a rookie.

Never mind the running game struggled in December...

And with all that, he was still able to keep us in those games with opportunities to win, still managed a 7-6 record as a first year starter, and still managed 3-300 yard games in December.

Not bad overall for a first year starter. Maybe he is getting some undue praise. Perhaps it's because we haven't seen what we consider to be a long term solution at QB in a decade. However I think enough of us are smart enough to realize this guy has the goods.

Is there anything besides clutch performance and Ws and Ls? Are you hoping for better stats out of Henne so his ratings on Madden go up?

And LOLing at me and calling me a dreamer with a twisted version of what I stated re: Manning...I know the point was subtle but c'mon, this is getting sad.
