    19 more cuts to go?

As for Hartline, they kept him on the PS last yr, why wouldn't they keep him there this year?

    16 I think.

I dunno. Usually coaches will tell you they'd like to bring you back tomorrow. For him to be down like that.....

Yea his comment sounded like he was told no deal for the PS this year.

Although exciting for fans, this day has got to be gut wrenching for players.

Maybe he did not show the coaches enough of an improvement to keep him on the PS this year.

More accurately, probably wasn't told that, which is the same thing of course.

    You said it.

Worst day of a lot of guy's professional lives is one of the days we live for. Only in sports.

I think he and Gardner both get the boot. Murtha was ahead of him IMO, so he'd be a likelier candidate for the PS.

Hartline out is better for Cory Proctor, but McQuistan hurts him. With the injuries at corner and linebacker, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go with 8 on the OL, with Berger, Thomas and McQuistan the backups.

Murtha will stick as finding a good backup Left Tackle one week before the season starts is nearly impossible.

Murtha looked pretty terrible. You could be right tho. The pickup of Mcquistan looks a really nice move to me right now.

Donald Thomas is gone as well. So much for the Chuck Norris style threads on him.

Yeah that's unfortunate about Thomas, he showed so much in his first training camp but never got better. That sucks.

I know Thomas didn't progress a lot, but this is still a big surprise to me, couldn't Thomas be used as at least decent depth?

Wow, surprised we let Thomas go. I guess we're done waiting for him to clear that rookie wall.

Was just about to post the same thing. Updated the title instead.

Would seem to indicate they picked up another interior guy, though that could be McQuistan and they got someone to replace Murtha.

Sparano's PC moved back to 3:30.

    very disconcerting, discouraging
from elite to rebuilding in year three
when we need a defensive backfield

to much confusion in a year meant to contend

I swear all they care about is irrelevant monopoly moves along the OL and DL.

We're in experimental mode once again.... AFTER training camp/preseason.

We have tons of other holes on this football team that have been glaring holes all offseason long.
