    Canada EH!
More like 80-20, as in 80% chance for White to fail, 20% for him to succeed. It's not like he predicted much, he just told us the most obvious outcome. The rest of us just wished otherwise cause White was a Dolphin.

    Spare me your babble. :words:

I despised the pick as much as anyone in this forum..... HOWEVER, as a TRUE Dolphin fan, I supported Pat while he was donning Aqua and Orange. You care more about running your mouth and insulting the decisions of a quality organization than you do your loyalty to the team.

Yes, I said I thought Pat had starting QB potential---- after 3-5 YEARS of having the proper time & opportunity to groom (which he was not afforded here). I also said his demise would occur from the lofty expectations placed on him as a 2nd rounder.

Does that mean I'll agree with all of their decisions? Hell no, but I'll by no means act as smugly as yourself thinking that the team should run every single transaction or change by YOU just b/c you tooted yourself right on the Pat White issue.

Not to burst your bubble, but this regime has a LOT more to worry about when it comes to running an organization than whether or not they were right about Pat White. If our FO actually did run EVERY decision by you, then we'd be a turd of a franchise drafting 1st every season..... and then, poetically, all of us fans could, in turn, insult and criticize your NUMEROUS botched draft picks every season b/c you WON'T have the luxury of ONLY taking credit for your right choices while attempting to hide your bad ones.

I think its because he was a 2nd round pick, where the hate comes from. He was a wasted pick, when we needed other positions filled. Of course that wasn't his fault, and he shouldn't be blamed. But SICK, you know that is human nature to lash out at a target like that, especially when you are reluctant to call out the real culprits, that being Ireland & possibly Parcells.

Difference is other 2nd year QB's are brought in to be eventual starters. Their growth is necessary. If White can't grow running the ball or lobbing it to an open receiver then not much need for him. Though hating him for being drafted in the second round is dumb.

That was merely a use of sarcasm to poke fun at KB for being so boastfully high & mighty as if he were the Nostradamus of football and that we should all be oohing and aahing over his miraculous prediction!! LMAO

I'm not concerned with what Pat's "actual" % chance was or wasn't, nor was that my intention. Probability wise, any 6 year old in the country could've flipped a coin and had a 50-50 shot at getting it right. That's MY point. However, if it's "much more than 50-50" as you say, then you're actually supporting my argument by saying that KB's prediction was even "less special" than he's giving himself credit for <kind of like predicting rain when it's cloudy outside>.

Not surprised at all. It was a pick that made no sense at the time and it just became a disaster as time went on. I wish Pat all the best moving forward and I hope he bounces back elsewhere. As long as it's not in the AFC East that is.

Watch San Fran sign him and win the Superbowl with White throwing to Ginn.

    LOL.

    That would be stellar.

So, next time Mike Mayock virtually guarantees a guy will make a great QB, do we ignore him? Cuz he said the opposite of KB. Or KB becomes the new Mike Mayock. lol. I dunno, I'll still take Mayock, thanks.

Seriously funny watching Todd give it to KB with both barrels in this thread. Let's not get too far over the TOS line though by insulting posters personally.

My reaction is that Dolphins fans completely overrate this FO when in reality they've done an average job at best. We've got a bum sitting on IR from our second round pick in 2008, and a year later we've already axed our second and third round selections (save Sean Smith) from 2009.

    That's a really pathetic job.

Who have they hit on, the #1 and #26 overall draft choices? Not impressed at all.

Precisely. Last year's draft may have only four players that can actually play.

This front office has not done a great job at drafting or signing free agents. They have been better at finding undrafted free agents than they have been at maximizing their picks.

Seriously, someone should get fired over the Pat White and Pat Turner picks. Those were horrific reaches at where they were picked.

Miami really needs to think about replacing the Director of Pro Personnel and the Director of College Scouting. They have to get better than what they have done.

If you stand by that, list me the picks of the TEN front offices you feel have done much better jobs over the last three years.

I mean, surely they all have much higher hit rates than ours, since ours is terrible.

Curious which teams are batting .850

Bill Parcells isn't going to fire himself over Pat White, and Jeff Ireland isn't going to fire himself over Pat Turner.

everyone is open to criticism but really..you honestly think that what we have isn't a top FO?? you expect 5 starters every draft ?? I'm just glad they don't hold on to guys that suck to try and save face ALA Wanny and they learn from their mistakes...like what they had posted all over the war room.."No Pets and no guys that don't fit the makeup" Im sure that was about White and Turner the year before..I give em Kudos for every Turner there is a Hartline Bess etc etc..I'm looking at all the cuts today and we are certainly not the only team cutting a few high/mid round picks.

Our drafts have been average so far. High Pro-Bowl highs and low, cut in one year lows. Gems like Brian Hartline and Davone Bess are in between. The big thing is though, personnel acquisitions are still great. They have an eye for good FA pickups. Guys like Grant and Douglas. Grove and Berger...hell, all of our O-Line. The Beast and Fasano (when he feels like it). Also, I definitely can't forget number 10 Mr. Chad Pennington. Young talent isn't their strong suit apparently but the FO puts it together well enough.

Their free agent decisions are spotty at best. Ernest Wilford, Gibril Wilson, the injury prone Jake Grove, Reggie Torbor...etc.

Man... it's amazing that just a few years removed from being 1-15 that we're being looked at as potential contenders on the up and up. I'd hate to see how good we'd be if we actually made some good decisions. :shifty:

While there's plenty to smile about...... until we actually ARE a contender, you can't just ignore some of these off season blunders. Because they could very well be what keeps us from ever being more than a one and done playoff team.

At some point these missed picks and FA's add up against you..... you can't hit on all of em but if you want to win a SB you need to miss as little as possible.

Then why was Ginn a member of our squad for 2 years ? He is the ultimate anti-Parcells type of guy. Weak & plays scared.

Iam definitely bothered by not knowing who is responsible for these mid level free agent guys..Too many misses for it to be swept under the rug...

I know some think iam bias towards the man to my left, and some dont wanna hear this, but I dont think its farfetched to think that Parcells is responsible for the high priced stuff...Dansby, Long, Marshall, while Irish get's his bones thru mid level stuff.

Somebody is patting themselves on the back for "calling" that Pat White would not be an effective NFL quarterback?

So do I pat myself on the back for wiping correctly?

Pat white was drafted as an experiment for a run/pass option offense. The experiment failed. Kinda.

But let's be fair....Pat White so far has had a better career than Clint Sintim.

21 carries for a 3.9 average is better than being a non special teams contributor that is now a 4th linebacker and 2nd in the depth chart to a guy with 2 feet in the NFL grave (bullock)

Jake Long is arguably the best LT in the NFL. LT is a premium position, maybe only behind QB. Anybody that ranted and raved about Long's Inability to play the position that he is now arguably the BEST at..should NOT do ANY patting of the back.
