If not, we need to be. I really don't feel good about the depth we have at WR, mainly inexperience. Is Hartline really a #2? Doubtful. I would rather carry 6 WR's and have Marshall and TJ outside with Bess in the slot. An injury here or there and we are royally screwed, especially carrying 2 TE's....only one if which is catching balls.

We need TJ and he is virtually free since Seattle is paying his salary.

TJ would be a "progress stopper," so no.

Why? Dude is 33, had two poor seasons back to back, and was waived in Seattle in favor of perenniel washout Mike Williams?

Progress stopper? How so? We have 3 WR's with 2 years or less experience and only one that is a proven in Marshall. We don't have a true #2 since Bess is best out of the slot. One thing we have learned is that you can never have enough quality WR's and TJ is just that. He is a big WR that is a great #2 off a big time #1. Progress is getting to the plaoffs and winning a SB. How will adding that stop that?

92 catches in 2008 for 904 yards and 79 for 911 last year. You wouldn't take that?

92 catches in 2008, 79 catches last year in Seattle with their starting qb out half the season. I thought he was actually signed by the Vikes yesterday.... oh the perils of twitter.

He's 32, and would prevent younger players from getting experience. Hence a progress stopper.

32 isnt that old for a receiver. TO is what 35? There are many more examples (Moss, Rice, Brown, Mason). If we expect to make a serious push in the next 3 years hes PLENTY young enough to do so.

With all that said, nah no thanks. Big contract...

That's the coach's/fo's sentiment. I don't think it is too old, but someone like TJ is a progress stopper to our staff.

The big contract is irrelevant for this year since Seahawks are on the hook for it.

Yeah your saying his last two seasons which have totaled 171 catches, 1,815 yards, and 7 TDs are 'poor' is BAT**** INSANE.

Well if thats the case friggin sign him. "Progress stopper" my ***. We could use a crafty vet on this offense.

  22. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

He is a perfect fit for Washington in my opinion. The Redskins, under Mike Shanahan are going to be very good, very quickly. Don't sleep on them, Haynesworth-gate aside.

I would welcome TJ with welcome arms, especially since he runs very quality routes and would add another weapon to an offense that actually has quite a few pieces already actually. But if the rumors are true that we are looking at more 3 and 4 receiver sets as opposed to double tight ends, then he really isn't stopping anyone from progressing is he?

Lining up Marshall, T.J., Bess and Hartline sounds like a nightmare for opposing defenses if you ask me. And quite frankly, if it means Moore and Wallace have to take a few plays to sit on the sidelines, so be it.

Once you get to the red zone, if you aren't pounding the ball in with Ricky/Ronnie, then you trot out Marshall, T.J., and Wallace and let Henne lob it in for a down or two.

Oh and the best part? If you pick up T.J. after the first week...his contract wouldn't be guaranteed so if he does turn out to be a "progess stopper," you can simply walk away. It makes too much sense if you ask me, so it most likely won't happen.

Which is fine I suppose. Right now I am more concerned with Sparano accidently cutting B-Marsh in favor of an UDFA linemen who was cut by the Browns two days ago...

    Ravens sign him.

Hmmm....seems they aren't scared of progress. Boldin, Mason and TJ. Most of the top teams don't have just a #1 and a bunch of young guys. Our WR group is waaaaaay behind many of the top teams in the AFC, even with Marshall. I am very wooried right now with our WR corp.

    Team...their rank vs our unit
    Pats...better
    Colts...better
    Ravens...better
    Bengals...better
    Jets...with Holmes, possibly better.
    Texans...better
    Jags...close
    Steelers...close
    Titans...close
    Chargers...on par

    Blergh really?

Pats - Better with a 100% Welker and a motivated Moss. A disinterested Moss and a less than 100% Welker and they will not be as good.
Colts - Good group, but take away Manning and they aren't better.
Ravens - Better, but also older. Mason wont play for much longer, and TJ looked somewhat washed up in Seattle. Boldin is good but gets banged up.
Bengals - TO and Ocho are overrated at this point and very much on the downside of their careers.
Jests - Actually pretty solid if Braylon can grow a pair of hands.
    Texans - Better
    Jags - Nowhere near.
Steelers - Its a tossup - losing Holmes will hurt. Wallace was a revelation, but they have had issues developing the position aside from him and Holmes. Ward cant play forever either.
    Titans - Eh
Chargers - Without Jackson they are thoroughly average.
