If so, then the Canes need to take some pride in that. Those '80s teams reveled in worse insults.

Watching the game on ESPN 3. It's more interesting than the Fins game right now.

The Canes offense looks good. Not GREAT, considering who they're playing against, but good. The defense is aggressive and stifling, but again, consider the competition.

Next week @ OSU will be huge.

If anyone has ESPN Insider I'd be interested in reading the whole article. Stole him from Florida and FSU though, sounds good to me.

Best LB recruit in the state of Florida, and one of the best in the country I'm hearing on other sites. Also hearing his teammate, RB Duke Johnson will commit to Miami also. He's one of the best RB's in Florida.

Here's highlights of Johnson: YouTube- duke johnson highlights 2009

Very happy that Bridgewater is coming in, because I still see close to nothing in A.J. Highsmith. Whipple is obviously a dud.... we all knew that.

Since I am clairvoyant....and I know you and what is in the back of your mind............Sean Spence looks to have his COD back and the hip is a non issue from what I hear ... and it showed....his COD looks much much better.

Oliver Vernon looked unbelievable explosive. Lamar Miller is FAST!!!!! Brandon Harris looks much improved and confident. Hankerson has improved even more, Ray-Ray Armstrong is going to be a stud...and did I mention Oliver Vernon looks like had a cattle prod applied to his keester at the snap....what a first step!!!!!!

The bad...a bit concerned about the interior line play of the first team and the backs looked out of synch in zone blocking the blitz a couple times........defense ....... I have a real concern with....just too much talent...somebody will get pissed about lack of snaps.... :)

Overall a much bigger faster team overall and just the most talent since Randy arrived, and most talent in probably longer than that IMHO.

    UM basketball schedule is out.

    http://hurricanesports.cstv.com/spor...kbl-sched.html

Must admit, I'm pretty excited about this current UM team. Returning 4 starters including Durand Scott, who's going to be a stud. Got some good recruits in Rion Brown, Eric Swoope, and Raphael Akpejiori. Expecting big things from Donnavan Kirk this year too. Sucks that Kenny Kadji and Trey McKinney-Jones aren't eligible though. Don't much about Trey, but know Kadji was one of the best Center recruits in the country in 2008. Though looks like we'll get Kadji for 3 years since he was given a medical hardship waiver. But add them to next years squad with 4 star Center Ismaila Dauda. UM basketball certainly heading on the right direction. A lot of good to very good recruits considering Miami though. If UM can pull off a great season, and the Heat get to the Finals, could see some of these guys coming to Miami.

I wonder how much interest JaKarr Sampson has in Miami at this point. I know there was a lot of buzz about LeBron coming to Miami being a big help to UM recruiting and that JaKarr Sampson was considering Miami. Guess we'll have to see.

Some more confirmation that Duke Johnson will commit to Miami. Even more interesting about this is that AJ Leggett is wanting to commit as well. In case you don't know about Leggett, he's one of the best CB prospects in Florida for 2012. Here's a highlight video on Leggett.

YouTube- AJ Leggett ; Gulliver Prep c/o 2012

Brown, Johnson, and Leggett. 3 guys who may be near the top of their positions nationally by the time 2012 comes around. Not bad.

No possible way they will be near the top.

Rivals is run by an ex Gator and a Notre Dame grad...you think they are going to get wind of this and rank them at the top?

Look at Seantrel Henderson...#1 on every service until it got out that he was seriously considering UM....then all of a sudden Gator lean Ronald Powell was #1 on rivals, and that is just one example in a long line of examples......Patrick Johnson was an mid range 100-150 cover corner as a UM committ, then he committed to LSU and then he shot to top 20 and could do it all.....my advice....do not watch the rankings, and when looking for film of a Teddy Bridgewater or anyone...look at the film of other recruits they play against...their own film will be a highlight reel.......as example go find some film that is not Jeff Luc film and then tell me what you think of Jeff Luc ........

Those are all great players though IMO...especially Duke.

Is Rivals the end all be all? I really could care less what rivals tells me. I use Scout.com and ESPN more. They actually provide some information on players while Rivals just gives a ranking. I do try to watch as much game tape as I can on commits, but living in VA, that isn't all that easy unfortunately. I've seen some game tape of all 3 recruits, and I like what I see though.

Anyone see the Dwyer-Glenville game? Man Dwyer got screwed. On a more related note, sounds like Nick O'Leary is down to FSU or Miami, and from what I'm hearing Miami is in the lead. Man would that be a huge get. Dude reminds me of Greg Olsen.

I hope we win. Right now, I'm not sure we do. We're going to have to stay disciplined. I like our wide receivers against their cornerbacks though. If anything loses us this game, it'll be the OL IMO.

How is the Canes rune defense? Our secondary is untested and I think Harris should have no problem shredding the Secondary. also Marshall blocked 2 kicks so ST is a concern.

Our run defense looked pretty good against FAMU, but then, that was FAMU. I'm thinking we'll do just fine in that area, it's your QB Terrelle Pryor that I'm concerned about.

I think you should be more concerned with the depth we have at RB. Despite Pryor's size and athleticism he is a horrible at judging when to take off. For every positive scramble he has 3 he takes for a 4-5 yard losses. Nathan Williams will be playing in the game and he was our best pass rusher in the spring but got a knee sprain. Also watch out for Stoneburner he is a 6-6 TE with legitimate WR speed.

    Should be a wild game.

I'm worried about our linebackers in coverage. We are terrible covering the C/F and the H/C areas. We are going to get murdered in the seam.

    My 2 cents.....only my 2 cents......

Their Run D looks good. Petri likes a rotation and I imagine they will be chasing Pryor a lot, so the depth will be big and UM has plenty up front. When they are in the game, Robinson and Vernon fly up field so Pryor will be challenged to make decisions, and they rotate with talented guys like Ojomo and Bailey who is a classic closed end..... IMHO...I do not think they can be completely contained in the pass rush.. Regis and Porter are both back so now you have 6 guys inside that can all play if you include Luther Robinson.

I think they will hold up well inside the tackles and my fear as a Cane fan is that Pryor will run rampant if they lose contain....The OLB's are talented but young but not especially deep, and I do not trust Kylan Robinson, so IMHO they WILL lose contain during this game. I think you start to see some Ramon Buchanan and Jordan Futch this game.

The Db's are stronger at the corner overall but they are all very very talented...just not deep on experience in the DB area....Ray Ray Armstrong is a beast and will hit as will Telmaque..both are aggressive and have great ball awareness....JoJo Nicholas and Jared Campbell are experienced but not especially talented.....at the corners you have some big time talent in DVD, Harris and McGee....Hill is functional....

Very good kicking game with Bosher. The offense I worry about their ability to milk time since they look better at pass blocking and receiver than the typical pound it at you backs and OL.......not sure about inside the at OG/C....Not real comfortable with Tyler Horn or Harland Gunn just yet but Brandon Washington looks like a keeper and Malcomb Bunche might see the field and never leave...very talented guy......just not a ton of experience on the OL.....but more size and talent than they have had in ions.........

If St's plays in then I think Lamar Miller will make a play.....his speed in pads is special....Mike James also has some serious pads on speed......

Overall.....UM needs good interior OL play and Tyler Horn needs to make the right interior calls and lead these guys up front, they really need a TE or back to step up in the passing game to work the middle and get Ohio State out of that deep sideline rotational zone on third and more than 5.....and they need to contain Pryor as best they can....I like their chances with the first two...but containing Pryor is tough enough with a talented and deep LB core and that is not UM's strength right now........

IMHO game could go either way as I am not sure OS can stop the outside weapons that Miami has and limit the big plays.....this may be one where OSU outgains UM 3 to 1 and Miami makes a few big plays that wins the game...or OSU keeps the ball 40 minuets and wins by 13...........

That is my 2 cents............so give us the OSU perspective..........

If Jacory Harris plays within himself and does not heave it 70 yards to a triple covered Hankerson, we will be fine. It's important not to get 100,000 fans overly into the game. We have to silence them early or it will be a long day.

I'll try to break it down.

Offensively Ohio St will try and control possession. So long sustaining drives to try and keep Jacory Harris on the sideline. Keeping the Canes best player off the field is Tressel ball. I'm not sure if a shootout will happen but Ohio St can hit the home rune both running and passing. If the Cane defense over comits on Pryor it will open up other weapons on the offense. I think a lot of people overrate Pryor and his scrambling ability he is more prone to mistakes on the run. Big plays may happen... for both sides.

Defensively the front 7 is very talented. I think the Canes will have trouble containing the line. Heyward, Delinger, Simon, and Williams. Williams didn't play because of a knee injury suffered in the spring but he is our best pass rusher by far. It showed last week without Williams Ohio St had trouble getting pressure. Getting pressure on Jacory Harris is a must but I fear that could be a double edge sword Ohio St has trouble with QBs in space. Very good LB core and depth sad to see a talent such as Sabino to red shirt (lost his job to Andrew Sweat. From what I understand Sabino is not instinctive enough as a LB). Secondary is shaky. They go into the game untested and that worries me most about the game.

ST is awful for which is a rare case under Tressel. Marshall blocked a XP and a long FG attempt which resulted in 6 points for Marshall. Hopefully they improve as unit.

Overall for Ohio St to win they need to control the tempo of the game. Typical Tressel ball will be played. I'm not sure they would risk throwing it deep early. They like to take risks when they have a lead. Hopefully its not one sided.

UM Baseball Star Busted Dealing Pot

"A University of Miami baseball star was busted Wednesday night after he tried to sell pot to some undercover Coral Gables detectives, police said.

Frankie Ratcliff, 19, was arrested shortly after 9 p.m. on the 1200 block of Dickinson Drive on UM's campus.

Police said he had negotiated the sale of 21 grams of marijuana for $220.00 with the undercover officers. When Ratcliff gave consent to the officers to search his apartment, they found three more bags of pot weighing a total of 101 grams, as well as 19 vials of steroids.

Ratcliff was charged with marijuana sale within 1000 feet of a school, marijuana possession over 20 grams and possession of steroids."

Four-star DE Chickillo decides on Miami

    Michael Langston
    FlaVarsity.com

TAMPA (Fla.) - Alonso defensive end Anthony Chickillo certainly could have chosen any college destination, with offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Miami, and Michigan. However, at the end of the day, he decided to keep the Chickillo legacy all in the family, and stated he was going to be a Miami Hurricane.

Comes as no surprise. His father, grandfather, and uncle all went to Miami. If he went elsewhere, would of been a fail of epic proportions on Randy Shannon.
