QB: Tony Romo, Kevin Kolb RB: Adrian Peterson, Ryan Grant, Shonn Greene WR: Anquan Boldin, Wes Welker, Hakeem Nicks, Mike Wallace, Devery Henderson, Devin Aromashodu, Eddie Royal TE: Kevin Winslow, Zach Miller DST: Vikings K: Dan Carpenter I'm Very short on RB's imo and will probably pull some trades to get a 4th and maybe a 5th. But I feel pretty solid with this team even without a Elite WR. It's also a PPR league. Any opinions welcome for trade options.
I don't mind flex positions as long as its not 3 WRs an then 2 Flex. That's overkill. I don't mind subbing out the TE spot for a FLEX.
I'm in an IDP league with PPR, and ST points. we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR, 1 K, 2 D, 2DB, 2LB, 2 DL QB: Phillip Rivers, Carson Palmer RB: Michael Turner, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Clinton Portis, Lawrence Maroney, Darren Sproles WR: Wes Welker, TO TE: Zach Miller K: David Akers LB: Jon Beason, Jon Vilma, DeMaco Ryans, David Hawthorne DE: Jared Allen, Osi (looking to replace Osi) DB: Daniel Manning, Vontae Davis I'm obviously weak at WR. I didn't intend for it to go that way and probably reached for Ronnie at the end of the 2nd :P I feel bad, but by the time it got back to me, all of the Grade A WR prospects were gone. I need to figure that out, but to do that I need to figure RB situation out.... I like Ronnie this year...he was money for 10 weeks before his injury last year. I predict him and Turner will be top 5 RB's if they stay healthy. I'm happy with my QB situation, solid starter, with a backup that has a ton of potential. I only like Sproles if he ends up starting (injury?). He's not a #1 back, but can be a difference maker with his ST points. Matchup flex player if he stays around. Maroney is Maroney. I think he's the best back on their roster, but he never gets enough touches to prove it. He had a strong first pre-season game, but hasn't seen the field since. I was reading articles about how he's bulking up, and going to focus on running downhill.....is bellicheat hiding him? That and the fact that he has the same bye week as the phins means he's almost GOT to get traded or cut...i picked him up LATE btw. Portis is that enigma as always. I'm ok with him as my #3 back as long as I have someone to rotate with him. Some are predicting a break out year for him....I still see him as a #3 on my roster under the best of circumstances. My D is ballin. I could use a different DE than Osi, but he'll do find this year. Manning is solid, and I'm high on Vontae...see him getting tackles, and turnovers to give him a bump from last year. It will have to be significant to keep him all season long, but I'll give him a few weeks to see how he does. My LB corps is insane IMO as most of them were top 20 tacklers (I find this to be the best indicator of future performance for IDP players) last year. Vilma was hot cold, but the others are all top tier LB'ers...just too bad I missed out on Willis by two picks.....Allen is very valuable. Overall his production is decent compared to other positions, but as a DE he's super valuable. That position is the TE of the D in our league, so having a guy that can put up numbers is big. Osi I could take or leave though. Welker....I'm going to HATE pulling for him. I should be at the very least GOOD (if not great) if he stays healthy (PPR remember). I may be in the minority, but I also think TO will be serviceable. I need to bring in another WR to rotate....who should I ship, and who do you see as a "mid" talent with explosive potential? Like I say, I probably reached for Ronnie in the 2nd....getting Ronnie necessitated getting Ricky later for the handcuff....but to be hones.t.I like him..and I like rooting FOR him when he's on my real life team, and fantasy team. Remember he was a top fantasy back before he got injured last year...i expect the offense to open up more this year. Thoughts? There's 12 teams in the league btw. You NEED a solid all around team to win. Most people get a good offense, but neglect the D....you can't compete like that in our league. The top tier Defensive players put up as many points as solid Offensive starters.
I'm not going to comment on WR and RB because I'd have to be pretty nasty, but here's some quick thoughts on your defense: - DE is good - LB is okay. I'm not too high on Beason after his move to WOLB. There's 3-5 LBs I'd pick ahead of him this year - There's bound to be a lot better options than Davis on the waiver wire. There is little reason to start a CB who isn't on return duties
I agree sadly, in leagues I have been in QBs go way too early as well so you have to follow trend if you want a valuable QB.
I had my draft last night and the QBs went incredibly early. I picked 11th and by the time my pick came up six QBs were gone. This was 14 team draft and we had 20 rounds. I decided to load up on RBs and WRs early. I'm happy with those. I think my TEs are okay. I just missed out on Finley and had to settle for Gonzalez. My QBs are guys whom I think have top 10 potential so I'm hoping one of them hits. Obviously for non-fantasy purposes I'm hoping it's Henne. At the end I needed a kicker and there wasn't much left so I ended up with two guys from Houston. I'll just drop whomever doesn't make the team. Overall I'm pretty happy with my draft in a league with so many teams. Thoughts? QB Matthew Stafford Detroit Chad Henne Miami RB Frank Gore San Francisco Arian Foster Houston Ronnie Brown Miami Kevin Smith Detroit Bernard Scott Cincinnati Tashard Choice Dallas WR Randy Moss New England Calvin Johnson Detroit Mike Wallace Pittsburgh Devin Aromashodu Chicago Kevin Walters Houston TE Tony Gonzalez Atlanta Jermaine Gresham Cincinnati Rob Gronkowski New England K Neil Rackers Houston Kris Brown Houston DEF Cincinnati Buffalo
That was 6 QBs before my pick at #11. Schaub went about two picks after mine. He was the last of the top 7. Five QBs went in the second round, Favre, McNabb, Flacco, Eli Manning and Cutler) although I don't remember the order they went in.
had my money league Sunday @ Hooters! QB-Kolb/Roethlisberger RB-MJD/Bradshaw/F.Jackson/Ri.Williams/L.Johnson WR-A.Johnson/De.Jackson/H.Nicks/D.Bowe/L.Evans/L.Murphy TE-Z.Miller(oak) K-Akers D-NO Saints 5th pick in a snake draft and MJD was my keeper so i didnt have a 2nd rd pick. 12 team/PPR/2 RB/3 WR lineup. i usually target TE/D/K that have late bye weeks (8/10) so i load up at Top positions
12 team ppr league, i picked 6th QB - Eli/Henne RB - Rice/Charles/McCoy/Bradshaw/Leon Washington (took cause of a bye issue...) WR - Marshall/Harvin/Meachem/Mike Williams/Vincent Jackson (took a shot) TE - Vernon Davis K-Carpenter Def - Cincy Think I'm pretty stacked at RB. Might use Bradshaw or McCoy as trade bait if I need to upgrade elsewhere. Depth at WR is thin, but so is our bench. So hopefully Jackson plays.
10 team, PPR League.. Schaub, Ryan Caddy, Pierre Thomas, Felix Jones, Moreno AJ, Fitz, Maclin, Floyd, Henderson, Doucet Gates, Gresham 49ers D Rackers I'm thinking this one my worst teams ive ever drafted.
12 man league 1 extra starting spot (Flex) 3 man bench. QB-Tom Brady, Matt Ryan WR-Mike Sims Walker, Mike Wallace, Donald Driver, Santonio Holmes RB-Ray Rice, Steven Jackson, Michael Bush, Felix Jones TE-Brandon Pettigrew K-Kris Brown Defense-Minnesota D IND-James Laurinaitis
Very difficult draft. It was a 20 man league, which is pretty big by my standards. The way the roster sets up also made it incredibly difficult being you have to start 3 WR's, two RB's, Two TE's, a WR/RB, and a WR/TE. The last few rounds we were forced to draft guys who won't see any playing time. But anyways, here's my team. QB - Matt Ryan, Matt Hasselbeck RB - Stephen Jackson, Jerome Harrison, Tim Hightower, Michael Robinson, Earnest Graham WR - Brandon Marshall, Devin Aromashodu, Mike Thomas, Buster Davis, Maurice Stovall, Emmanuel Sanders, Greg Lewis TE - Antonio Gates, Anthony Fasano, Michael Hoomanawanui, Ben Patrick K - Adam Vinatieri, Matt Bryant Def - Bengals, Raiders Considering the circumstances, I think I did a pretty good job. Hardest draft I've ever participated in. Dropped Donnie Avery for Greg Lewis, and Travis Beckum for Michael Hoomanawanui. Bradford and Hoomanawanui have had a rea lgood connection in the preseason and he was named the starter, hopefully that continues in the regular season.
10 man draft league. 2 WR's, 2 RB's, and a WR/RB. One of everything else. QB- Tony Romo, Matt Ryan RB- Steven Jackson, Rashard Mendenhall, Matt Forte, Tim Hightower WR- Larry Fitzgerald, Hines Ward, Mohammed Massaquoi, Kenny Britt, Braylon Edwards TE- Dallas Clark, Zach Miller DEF/ST- Bengals, Giants K- Garrett Hartley
Another 10 man league. 2 WR's, 2 RB's, and a WR/RB. One of everything else. QB- Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer RB- Adrian Peterson, Felix Jones, Ahmad Bradshaw, Clinton Portis WR- Roddy White, Steve Smith (Giants), Dwayne Bowe, Devin Aromashodu TE- Dallas Clark, Greg Olsen D/ST- Steelers, Bengals K- Garett Hartley
12 man IDP league where KR/PR yards are 1 point every 10 yards. Tackles are 1 point each while all other stats (INT's, Fumbles, etc.) are 2 points each. Start a QB, 2 WR's, 2 RB's, a TE, a WR/TE, and a WR/RB, as well as a K, 2 DB's, 2 DL, 2 LB's. QB- Jay Cutler, Matt Hasselbeck. I think Cutler can have a great season under Mike Martz. RB- Shonn Green, Jonathan Stewart, Jahvid Best, Jerome Harrison, Chester Taylor WR- Randy Moss, Johnny Knox (KR yards as well), Hakeem Nicks, Demaryius Thomas. TE- Jermichael Finley, Zach Miller, Kevin Boss K- Nate Kaeding DL- Aaron Kampman, Antwan Odom, John Abraham DB- Louis Delmas, Eric Berry, Antrelle Rolle LB- Paul Posluszny, Bradie James, Nick Barnett Picked up Kevin Boss and dropped Josh Wilson because Miller and Finley have the same bye week. Putting both on the trade block in hopes of trading one for a WR. May pick Wilson back up if he's back as the starting KR this season and drop Rolle.
From an 8 man IDP/PPR league me and some friends are doing with money on the line. We start a QB, a TE, 2 RB's, 2 WR's, a RB/WR, and a WR/TE. Also a K, 2 LB's, 2 DB's, and 2 DL. A tackle is 1 point, all other significant def stats (sacks, INT's, FF, etc.) are 2 points. KR/PR yards are 1 point/10 yards. I had the 7th pick in the draft. QB - Tom Brady, Joe Flacco RB - Jamaal Charles, Lesean McCoy, Jonathan Stewart, Darren Sproles, Tim Hightower - Keep in mind this is a PPR league. I think McCoy is going to be a PPR stud. Charles and Hightower should rack up a lot of catches as well. Charles also offers some return yards. Also Darren Sproles was a top 10 back in IDP leagues last year. WR - Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, Josh Cribbs, Hines Ward, Robert Meachem - I think this is the year Cribbs finally puts some good numbers offensively. Add that to the 1 point every 10 KR/PR yards, I think I have a real stud on my hands. Actually, I know I have a stud in my hands, afterall, he was the 5th best fantasy WR last year in IDP leagues. That gives me three top 5 WR's, not bad. TE - Jermichael Finley, Kellen Winslow K - Garrett Hartley - Trying to take him every league I get a chance too. LB's - Barrett Ruud, Curtis Lofton, D'Qwell Jackson, Nick Barnett - 2nd best unit on the team. Got 3 guys who can all finish top 5 in tackles this year, and Barnett is no slouch either. DB's - Yeremiah Bell, Eric Berry, Eric Weddle - Eric Berry = IDP stud, book it. DL - Will Smith, Aaron Kampman, John Abraham - I think Aaron Kampman is prime for a great year going back to defensive end in a 4-3. I think this may be my 2nd, possibly best team in FF this year out of the 5 I've done.
12 man QB: Aaron Rodgers RB: Jamaal Charles RB: Joseph Addai WR: Miles Austin WR: Donald Driver WR: Jeremy Maclin TE: Jermichael Finley K: Lawrence Tynes DEF/ST: Chicago Bench Ben Roethlisberger Beanie Wells Ronnie Brown Sydney Rice Heath Miller
yahoo winner's league league QB- Tom Brady RB- Ronnie Brown (after I bashed him lol, had no choice but to get him) RB- Marion Barber WR- Andre Johnson WR- Brandon Marshall WR- Mike Simms Walker TE- Owen Daniels K- Jay Feeley DEF- Pittsburgh BENCH Thomas Jones-RB Mike Wallace-WR Malcom Floyd-WR Clinton Portis-RB Vincent Jackson-WR NYG-DEF
I love how you're all homers for Ronnie Brown. lol I see him drafted early and often in 9/10 of these teams.
What the heck, might as well ask. 12-team keeper PPR, all TDs worth 6. QB: Kevin Kolb, Chad Henne RB: Frank Gore, Pierre Thomas, Cadillac Williams, Darren McFadden WR: Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Percy Harvin, Jacoby Jones, Laurent Robinson, Sidney Rice TE: Zach Miller, Dustin Keller PK: Ryan Longwell DST: 49ers, Cardinals I like my team's upside, but wish I had been able to get another RB like Ahmad Bradshaw or even Jahvid Best.
10 team draft and scoring is only touchdowns. well field goals and extra points and defense but no yardage brady stafford mendenhall d. williams moreno moss boldin sims-walker daniels gronkowski kaeding carpenter philly houston
You should be a contender as long as Kolb doesn't fall on his face. I'd backup Caddy with Huggins asap. That kid has the it factor and once Caddy inevitably gets hurt again, he'll be off to the races.
Finally had my big money league draft. 12 teams. Start- 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 Flex, 1 TE, 1 Def, 1 K QBs: Romo, Cutler. RBs: Gore, Beanie Wells, Ricky Williams, Bradshaw, Bernard Scott, Tashard Choice. WRs: Roddy White, Crabtree, Knox, Early Doucet, Legedu Naanee TE: Carlson DEF: Miami (I pick one up every week and figured the Bills would be a good matchup) K: Vinatieri I really like this team. The pick I dislike the most is Beanie but hopefully he'll stay healthy and get the majority of the carries. Figured Bradshaw and Williams can fight it out for the Flex unless a WR steps up.
I think you should try to trade for an upgrade at RB2. Really not as high on Wells as a lot of people. Everything else looks good aside from Carlson. I have him in my money league too and I'm not happy. Picked up Gronkowski.
lol the whole pick up a defense is a horrible strat. especially in 12 man leagues where there is what 8 or defenses? Have fun cycling through the likes of Detroit and St. Louis.
Na, it can actually work out well. You just have to see which Ds start out fast and have lemon matchups. People that reach for NYJ or BAL in the 8th or 9th are morons, imo.
10 team leauge ppr 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR or 3-1 RB or WR, 1 TE 1 K 1 D 9th pick, Snake Draft QB Drew Brees , Ben Roethlisberger RB Cedric Benson, Jahvid Best , Reggie Bush, Chris Wells WR Randy Moss, Mike Wallace, Pierre Garcon TE Vernon Davis , Brent Celek K Rob Bironas, Dan Carpenter D San Francisco , Tennessee First of all let me say there are 2 players I really wanted bad, thats Best and Wallace, so with the core of Brees and Moss and Benson, i took Best at the end of Round 3, maybe a reach, but i wanted him badly, took him over deshean jackson, the 2nd player i wanted bad is Mike Wallace, took him over steve smith of carolina , i was pretty weak at QB and TE last year and made sure that this wont happen again, so what you think ?
You're def rolling the dice here. You took Mike Wallace over Steve Smith CAR? Yeesh. I like Wallace and Garcon, but judging by what you're saying, you could of got them way later. I think you'll prob be looking for another WR and possibly another RB. I just don't see Best or Wells coming out on fire this year.
Here's another team I drafted last night. QB- Joe Flacco/Donovan McNabb WR- Miles Austin/Braylon Edwards WR- Larry Fitz/Bernard Berrian WR- Terrell Owens RB- Chris Johnson/Arian Foster RB- Ronnie Brown/Marion Barber TE- Chris Cooley DEF- NYG/DAL
Just drafted another team yesterday. I think I like this one better than my first. 12 teams/15 rounds, no ppr, 6 points for all TDs, 1 point for 10 yards rushing or receiving, 1 point for 25 yards passing. Round(overall) 1(7) Frank Gore 2(18) R Mendenhall 3(31) Roddy White 4(42) J Charles 5(55) Steve Smith (Carolina) 6(66) Matt Schaub 7(79) Kellen Winslow 8(90) Malcom Floyd 9(103) Robert Meachem 10(114) Justin Forsett 11(127) San Fran DST 12(138) N Kaeding (SD-K) 13(151) J Gaffney 14(162) Michael Bush 15(175) Kyle Orton Week 1 lineup should look like this: QB-Matt Schaub RB-Frank Gore RB-R Mendenhall WR-Roddy White WR-Steve Smith Flex(RB/WR)-J Charles TE-Kellen Winslow K-N Kaeding DST-San Fran Bench: Malcom Floyd Robert Meachem Justin Forsett Jabar Gaffney Michael Bush Kyle Orton I think this team has a good shot to win it all.
Even if Charles/Jones split TD's Charles is almost a lock to get over 1000 yards rushing imo, and I still get 1 point for every 10 yards rush/rec. Couldn't believe I got Matt Schaub in round 6 lol.
