so how do you feel about anderson becoming a buffalo bill in the next few hours/days and let him help a little about our blitz packages...i´m glad we havent had the gameplan in place yet, at some point before we starting putting the gameplan into our players, the cutting needs to end, imo

Along with letting them know Jake Long is in a body cast :pointlol: Without Long in there, or Grove in there, that leaves us a decent LG, Murtha at LT:cry: Berger at Center who cannot double team a blowup doll. Thats not good . I am sure Long will be there though.

F***ing PISSED! Id rather ride it out with M Johnson starting a few games rather than cut Anderson and have him join the Bills! My worry level has gone from a 6 to an 8 now on the 10 scale.

Again, the money being shelled out for back end roster players is certainly a key (Grant, Douglas, Anderson, Martin) when you consider the losses the franchise had financially. If the edict is to cut costs and try to still field a contender, the easiest ones are the back end vets who have a decent chunk of change coming to them. I am willing to bet that Ross just put 3+ million back in his pocket with the roster moves since Saturday.

The question still remains whether or not these moves effect the team negatively or not and thus, render those 3 million irrelevant (on account of fans abandoning the team early and spending their money elswhere, negating his early windfall).

If they were so worried about proving people wrong/right, they wouldn't have cut a 2nd and 3rd rd pick from last year.

True, their entire LBers corps up there were all Buckeyes and they could not even push a vote of confidence in for this kid. He has Purty hair though :pointlol::pointlol::pointlol: or he did have it long a few weeks ago. S.Florida may change his mind on that.

I'm confooozed! If he's considered a "finesse" player. And nick named "barbie". How exactly is he a good special teamer? Special teamers aren't known for their "finesse" style of play. haha.

    Because he is NOT.

"he is a good special teams player" is what they made up for the media to buy this move. he is a run of the mill special teamer. No better than Walden.

he is however,..VERY VERY GOOD in coverage. Although he will never see the field. LOL.

To put it bluntly...he flat out sucks. Charlie Anderson is light years better than him.

But this douche wore a cowboys uni so that gives him a leg up.

Man...I can;t wait till we start getting those good Cowboy players. Then we are gonna roll.

That and we lost AJ Edds, he was "our" Bobby Carpenter, now we needed a Nickel ILB they could trust as Dansby will be blitzing often this year.

I do agree, if Anderson makes it past the Bills on the waiver wire I'll be shocked.

Would have preferred if this move had been delayed as I feel we are handing the Bills Starters who have full knowledge of our schemes.

Actually Laurinaitis was a freshman when Carpenter was a senior. I believe you're thinking of A.J. Hawk.

    This.

Also important to note that the Rams run a 4-3 defense. Carpenter might be a better fit in a 3-4.

Also also: Parcells left Dallas when Carpenter was a rookie. Maybe Parcells felt he was never developed properly.

I think you just nailed it sam. we are cutting costs. we just paid 1/3 of brandon marshall's salary by cutting these guys. considering we were one of only a handful of teams that lost money last year, I'm sure this is part of a cost cutting measure.

    Really?

I see this move as trading a generalist for a Specialist.

We needed a Nickel ILB, Anderson was versatile but not a coverage ILB.

I don't buy that. They've done way more to disprove that than prove it. For example, they are veeeeery quick to admit mistakes and cut bait with a player, from draft picks to star FA acquisitions.

Did you forget about Karlos Dansby and Brandon Marshall, and the fact your first 3 draft picks are likely going to be starters in their first year.

Are you really that sad for losing charlie anderson, Charles grant, and Mr. Jet.?

he was not an inside backer in any way....Charlie had some athleticism to show flashes at rushing the passer.. hes almost 30 years old as well. he was never going to be a starter, and he doesn't play that well on special teams...

Our regime drafts the kid at #18 than has to split the following year....

I'll take the risk with the coaches that drafted him, it is apart of what makes Parcells so damn good.

Really? What plays did he make?

I know he ruined two massive plays by Ginn on ST by holding penalties.

Not for nothing but Charlie Anderson is 28 and Bobby Carpenter is 27. Bobby's dad also played for Parcells in New York. This wasn't a youth movement type of move. This is Parcells knowing Carpenter and wanting another one of his guys here. That and the money that was saved in cutting Charlie.

That doesn't mean I am against the move, but lets see it for what it is.

well last year not as a starter he had 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
2008 he had a safety/ a blocked punt vs the jets week 17/2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Not being a starter I think I can say he was somewhat of a playmaker.
