Actually it seemed forced and silly; I dont think this gesture has anything to do with on field responsibilities (leave that for the board room or picket line..hahahaha)....anyone else see this????

Smith lost me with his "players just care about the game" quote. No, the players care about money. Why else would they hold out?

Which is fine - it is their job - they should care about the money. I just want football in 2011 so until they quit playing the "good of the game" card and get down to financials this is going to be a waste of time.

it was a gesture of unity and i wouldnt be at all surprised to see the players do it before the start of every game. its a very simple and quick thing for them all to do, and they are getting more attention doing it that way then individual players commenting and making different statements sporadically in the media.

the hole situation bothers me. bunch of millionaires on all sides(owners and players) wanting more money.

i think they should all just agree to shut up and have everyone take pay cuts and use the additional money for things that would please the fan base. for example:
    lower ticket prices
lower tv viewing package prices and restrictions
use surplus league revenue to fund stadium upgrades/repairs/rebuilds instead of local taxes.
and any other sensible, logical ideas that would please their consumers and maybe even grow their consumer base and revenues.
