This entire offseason has been an endless series of :jt0323: moments.

From Taylor leaving to trading for Marshall to Marshall kicking the ball in practice to Nolan hiring to White.

 and bring on the :domodance:

Either Parcells is just erasing the damage done by Ross with his blabbing, or Parcells is a prick and Carucci is a jackass.

Well, I demand to get to the bottom of it, once and for all. Chad Henne, what do you think of all of this?

Parcells always complained abot Phil Simms also, so I guess we can count on Henne winning the Super Bowl.

this preseason was indeed, more of what hurt henne last season...his wrs letting him down. i saw a lot of $$$ passes dropped. and he was downright spectacular against JAX.

Another second round QB prospect in the works?

You guys have to be kicking yourselves for taking Culpepper instead of Drew Brees. Now THERE is a franchise QB. I said it while it was happening...TAKE BREES. Glad you didn't. I don't mean to rub it in, but facts is facts. We'll learn a lot more about Henne this year; he's not a done deal by any means. I like him more than Mark Sanchez, I'll tell you that. Time will tell. The Dolphins' season has a lot riding on this question mark.

BTW, I've always been a fan of Pennington. He's really good, and I think he was responsible more than anything else for the Dolphins' turnaround a couple of years back. He's a likable guy, and could have possibly been one of the greats if he didn't continue to hurt his throwing shoulder.

Must be good to know that he is there to backup. Thigpen is an excellent option for a third-stringer, too. Don't know if there is any QB better as a third option on anybody's roster, for what that is worth.

The Dolphins and the Bills have basically had the same problem, so I can relate...you are trying to find the next Marino, and we are trying to find the next Kelly. Finding a franchise QB is probably the hardest thing to do in this sport.

Uhm...just so you know, none of US are down on Henne. Just reportedly an old dude with manboobs is.

I am MUCH more comfortable with Chad Henne at the helm than Trent Edwards. The good news is, you guys may have a shot at getting the first overall pick next year. Just make sure it is the right one...

Thank God we don't have Edwards, Parcells would jump off Skidmore College (which is in Saratoga NY for those that don't know, near the race track)

Yeah I just want some football. My question is: If he and Parcells are that close, why would he go and say this on the air? You'd think Parcells would be pissed at someone repeating something he said to the media. Maybe it is a motivational thing, who knows. We'll find out soon.

Yeah, Carrucci didn't say that unless Parcells wanted it out there. Parcells has done this kind of thing before to tweak his players.

was one of the five concerns I ran the thread on...
hours way from opening our season with a bottom feeder
hope the fix is in on the offensive line.
we need a strong start to dispel the myth of mistakes & uncertainty surrounding the club
& a Quick Start to contend this season. nothing succeeds like winning

We'll see about that. At one point, a couple of years ago, people were higher on Trent Edwards than they ever were on Henne at this point. Henne has a lot to prove. Edwards is getting another chance with a group of people that finally seem to know what they are doing, headed by Chan Gailey.

Henne does have a lot to prove, I agree with that. He isn't a slam dunk super star by any means.

Still I do not think many people are down on Henne, right now. Even with his not that great preseason.

  26. CaribPhin

This thread is useless now. The hyperbole and pessimism is unnecessary. We're the ones with the problems. Think about it. We don't have Albert Haynesworth vs. Shanahan. Larry Johnson vs. Todd Haley, Anything similar to whatever it is the Browns have, the Josh McDaniels fiasco. Think about it. We haven't had any players speaking ill of the team and management. We haven't had management speaking ill about the players either. Vic Carucci said that Parcells said something. Just way too many impatient babies on here tonight. At first I got mad at Parcells but that was just a knee jerk reaction. Fan hyperbole is what drove an excellent Donovan McNabb out of Philly. We need to take a step back and see some damn games first.

Can't really make anything of it.

Just watch and see if Henne becomes the QB we need or not.

I am sure that due to Henne's performance this preseason, Parcells is less than thrilled.

However, that may turn into 'very proud of Chad Henne' if Henne lives up to expectations during the season.

    W's cure all ailments.

Parcells wouldn't annoint Jesus (forgive me Jesus) if given the chance.

That said, Henne hasn't shown us anything yet, except that he has a lot of moxie. Moxie only gets you so far. his numbers last year were not spectacular, however he started off the season well with the wins and losses. But he tailed off at the end. This preseason he's shown flashes, but is also inconsistent. Is Parcells disappointed? I wouldn't be surprised if he was. parcells picked him. He would want Henne to be a franchise right now, in his third season in the league. Time will tell. Is Henne going to take that next step? He has to do it first.

I'm not outraged nor surprised if this were true.

I wouldn't say I'm panicing, I will point out the crew did manage to leave the Titanic in the life boats if you know what I'm saying?

Hmm, maybe this is why Marshall is a model citizen, Tuna is crazier than he his?

Tuna also famously did not like Tony Romo.

For me, this has been a rollercoaster ride, Sparano and Co have done some things that I did not like..at all..then on the other, they've assembled a really good team.

As for Tuna, he has so many flounce offs I cannot tel if this is a flounce off, a motivational ploy, a warning shot across the bow, or if Tuna is playing us all like Vito Corleone's "puppets on a string".

I do think some in the organizaton like Thigpen more than we could really know.

Blah blah blah... sure.. B ill has distanced himself now, so lets at the same time, distance him from things that might not look so sure...

enough already. he's not a good. he's a damn good football mind, but he's made his fair share of mistakes too. it is what it is.. lets stop trying to make the guy seems like he's god now that he's "distanced" himself from the team.

The big probmem in Miami is everyone that plays QB is compared to Marino. and it is going to doom this franchise forever, until everyone, especially the media lets it go.

Correct me if Im wrong, but Isnt Carucci a Bills tool? He had maybe 2 decades worth of covering the Bills in his career and we are now going to treat the **** that comes from his mouth like its the word of god?

Seems like pure speculation to me, from a fan of a team that we just so happen to be playing in Week 1. Stirring the pot?

Lets put it this way, do you guys honestly believe the Jets/Bills/Pats fans give a **** about what Jason Cole or Omar Kelly has to say about them? Hell, even Tim Graham goes out of his way to try to be objectionable and he is still run through the ringers by MANY of those fans any time he opines negatively about their team.....simply because of his history as a Miami writer.

At the end of the day its in Chad Henne's hands to show what he's got! All the rest is talk, it don't mean nothing!

Henne will either prove all the naysayers wrong or we will start looking for another QB. At this point in time my money is on Henne until he shows otherwise. As for comparing him to Trent Edwards or anyone else, thats just BS in my book, the score at the end of the game will tell us all we want to know.

Henne's the best QB we've had since Marino, give or take the 2008 season with Penny.

    I'll take Henne over,

    1. Cleo Lemon
    2. John Beck
    3. Trent Green
    4. Joey Harrington
    5. Daunte Culpepper
    6. Sage Rosenfels
    7. Gus Ferotte
    8. A.J Feeley
    9. Jay Fiedler
    10. Brian Griesse
    11. Ray Lucas
    12. Damon Huard

So, if Parcells really said he was disappointed in Henne, he may just be lighting a fire under his butt (doing it through an off the cuff remark by Vic Carucci seems like an odd outlet thought) or, Parcells is just being the pessimistic prick that he is.

That being said, I'm happy with Henne, happier than I've been with any of our QB'S over the last decade.

Uhm, Disappointed is a word that really doesn't tell you **** if you'll excuse me.

Disappointed could mean he was expecting elite performance. Disappointed means that he is not meeting Bill Parcells expecations. That's all. It doesn't mean he's garbage, or trash, it just means that whatever Bill Parcells was expecting, he did not get.
