I would, although I'd say Meriweather has a higher ceiling as we're already at Bell's.

Doing us a favor? You don't think it had anything to do with earning himself a few readers? It was a business decision that for awhile, benefited both parties. But he's got better things to do with his time.

I think he's figured out he can get more Dolphin fans to read his blog by posting shock value material about our team (I think he does it to all teams, not a Dolphins agenda) than taking the time to answer our questions and making us respect his opinion.

And that's fine. I certainly don't take it personal but I think people need to stop praising this guy because he gave some vague answers to some questions a year ago and then bounced.

I'd never thought about it before, but for a division of 3-4 teams there's really not much in the way of quality outisde backers to be found.

e.g. Reggie Torbor is a starting OLB in a 3-4? Really?

He was already accomplishing this before he came here.

Given it was an opportunity for us to directly ask him questions (which you can't really do from reading his articles online), I saw it as a good thing. He didn't demand respect for his opinions, although we should give it to him since we were asking his opinion on things in the first place.

It is a shame that some took his opinions too personal.

But you also see why most beat writers don't get involved with forums. Instead of using the writers as vessels for information, the posters pick them apart and destroy them over disagreements of opinion. Sad thing, really. I'm more concerned in learning what these guys know rather than changing their opinion to reflect mine.
