San Diego's ST unit is getting raped tonight. Hope the Bills enjoy watching "Spiller Light" in McCluster tonight lol. That 9th overall was worth it to watch another year of Trent Williams and no OL eh?
That was a smart throw by Cassell. If he doesn't throw out of bounds, the clock keeps rolling and he gets sacked.
Might stick around until they show highlights of the Jets debacle in all it's glory. Not seeing the second half of this one.
How much better are we feeling about Henne comparing him to Sanchez? I hope I am not speaking too soon *KNOCK ON WOOD*
Well, with McCluster scoring that TD this could be on of the games that a "W" or an "L" is decided by Special Teams big plays..happens to every team at least once a season. #93 for KC Corey Greewood a Canadian CIS Linebacker.
Hallmark of a Turner team. Technically proficient and can beat up on weaker teams, but they lack toughness and get beat up by tough teams that play physical.
The very definition of blown coverage right there. The Chiefs watched us yesterday and thought "yah, it seems like a good idea to blow a coverage and let them back in the game".
Bess should be able to do something similar, let the double team come on Beast and just break his route upfield.
Damn Rivers is good.... Best QB out of that 2004 class. I remember Dolphins fans (myself included) wanted him and then he jumped up the draft board that last month of the draft... What a shame. edit: McMichael sighting...
I like Rivers a lot as well, but he seriously needs to calm down the anger on the field. He went up to that WR who slipped on the goal line and started screaming at him. That's crossing the line if you ask me. The guy definitely has passion though. Good game and good for the Chiefs to start the season with a win after a tough past few years.
It's not unusual. When the Pats had a scrimmage against the Falcons last month, he was screaming hard at the offensive line. The things he said are unprintable on a family-friendly forum such as this, but imagine F-bombs mixed in with allegations of obesity and excessive estrogen production in each member of the OL. Rivers is Jacory "Ice Cold" Harris in comparison.
Rivers is overrated, classic fantasy guy who puts up loads of points but folds under the moment. Leads a big drive then cant make the final throw. Playoff collapses. Screaming, yelling, whining. I have little respect for him. Best QB from '04? What? Eli and Ben both have rings, both can make plays in the clutch (Ben perhaps a few too many ...). I would take either of them ahead of Rivers.
Watching that McCluster TD, wow. He makes that cut and is just gone. Crazy acceleration. THAT is the kind of wild card player you spend a second rounder on, not Pat freaking White.
Yup, I will......not the first time, not the last I suspect.....man this game can make me look foolish.....twice now. Oh well, get em next year.
he once said, after his little hissy fit a couple years back, that he doesn't say anything that needs to be bleeped (they asked if it's unbecoming for a family/religious man to act like that) and that he's just having fun. I guess that religious man was lying!
Rivers is hardly overrated. I don't give a **** if Eli or Ben have rings. ****, Ben got his first ring by having the worst QB rating in SB history. Is it Rivers fault LT collapses every playoffs? Or a defense who collapses every year? In 08 the guy threw 3 TD and almost beat the Steelers who held the ball the entire 3rd quarter (which happened in 07 when NE held the ball the final 9 min the AFC champ game). I find it funny that Rivers get **** for being passionate and Marino is hailed as the ultimate competitor. They have very similar demeanors. Dude played in the AFC championship game with a torn ACL and almost won. He's got heart and fire. I'd take him in a ****ing second and I would take him over overrated Eli Manning and Rapist Roethlisberger who has won 2 SB based on defense and one drive which Santonio Holmes shredded Arizona.
I remember saying I wanted Rivers in the 2nd that year but that I thought he was worth a 1st and being blasted for it. This was early in the process so the critics were the ones that base their evaluations on the draft mags. And I agree that Rivers is better than E. Manning by a ton. I also think he's better than Big Ben, but that one is closer. As for the yelling, I agree that he should tone it down but its also true that he's not doing anymore than what Marino did.
I stand by it. I'm not saying he is bad, just overrated. When he can lead a drive like Ben/Eli did in the Super Bowl, or when he wins the AFC championship, then I will change my mind. Until then he's a fantasy QB and not the guy I want taking the snaps down by a score with 2 minutes left. I will leave Rapelisburgers off field antics out of it - I will not question that Rivers is a better person off the field (apparently as hot headed as he gets, he never swears). He just strikes me as being more immature than passionate still. Frankly, I think he could solve a lot with a good coach like a Sean Payton rather than the turd known as Norv Turner. The whole team has a history of wilting under pressure (Tomlinson sulking on the bench) rather than manning up and punching it in, and I feel in no small part that that is part of the Turner effect.
