You've obviously watched a different Dirty Sanchez than I have.
Dating back to college, he has never ever had good footwork...never.

Sanchez's greatest attributes IS his feet Nabo, coming out of college his feet were truly excellent...so I see that discrepancy you speak of..

I loved that freakin article man....When you have the most lethal arm in the game, upside is hard to project in terms of how good he can be {if that makes any sense}, This dude who wrote the article has no problem though..

Standing deep in the pocket in one place and being able to threaten every quarter of the field, from a still position, is dangerous ability....

Sanchez has to use those feet to do the same..

I disagree with the article in terms of whether Sanchez has the physical tools. I think he has all the physical skills needed to be a very good QB. IMO he has shown better accuracy, pocket presence and anticipation than Henne did in his few appearances as a rookie in preseason and the regular season. Other than arm strength, I would say that Sanchez has as good or better physical tools than Henne. But I agree about the mental toughness. I think Henne has that in spades over Sanchez. Now I think Sanchez' mental toughness may be a bit under rated b/c he comes off like such a pretty boy, but Henne's mental toughness seems off the charts. With all that being said, the fact that this Henne's third year compared to Sanchez second makes all the difference. I agree with the article that Henne is head and shoulders above Sanchez at this point.

BTW I listened to the actual podcast and it was pretty good. They talked about Wake, Dansby and Marshall among others. They also talked about how this has obviously become a passing league. I mentioned this once assuming it was common knowledge and for some reason it prompted months of arguments.

The thing that impressed me most about Henne last year, or the particular moment rather, was in the Bucs game, when he threw that terrible interception. Instead of hanging his head and letting it get to him, he ran right back onto the field and made some clutch throws to march them right back up the field (with some help from Ricky).

Honestly...Im psyched both teams have QB's good enough to warrant this kind of debate...

Would love to see Marino vs Obrien all over again...

Henne has the physical tools to be better and I think he is.

As much as I hate the Jets, I'm not going to knock Sanchez's year.

You can't discount the experience both of them entered last year with either....

Sanchez was a 1 year starter at USC and played as a rookie. Henne was a 4 year starter at Michigan, sat for a year in the NFL behind a greater tutor in Pennington, and then started.

Bingo. Finally someone else who sees it like I do. One of the major differences between the 2 right now is that Henne has the mental toughness to come right back after a mistake and make plays (see the TB game where he threw the pick then came right back to lead the team down the field to win the game). He stays calm and collected with pressure coming at him. 3 game winning drives last season for Henne. He has it.

Sanchez, at least IMO, doesn't have that mental toughness. He makes mistakes and it gets to him. I saw it a lot last year and it led to more mistakes.

He also kept us in that Tennesse game despite the picks, and there were two awful calls that screwed us.

Was that the game where he almost blew Bess's hands off with that bullet?

So far, Henne is 2-0 vs. Sanchez. No rah rah needed, just the facts.

One reason you'd want to pick Henne over Sanchez is the simple fact that Sanchez plays in a big city. New York and Philadelphia...if the QB makes a mistake and costs the team the game, the city turns on you.

Look at Pennington. He was destroyed in New York and what happens when he comes to Miami? He fourishes.

The enigma that was Mark Sanchez is over. Welcome to the NFL

Agree that his probable contributions to the rushing attack deserve a lot more mention!

I like Henne over Marino b/c I feel Danny-Boy lulled our offense into 1-dimensionalism, preventing us from ever having a legit shot at a SB win. With Chad, I think there will always be great balance.

Henne for Heisman!!! Wait, Am I too late?

i agree..shouldn't we really be comparing henne to matt ryan anyway? i remember their rookie seasons it was all about henne/ryan and how we passed on a guy like ryan for him but the minute sanchez was brought to the jets it's been henne/sanchez onlybecause of the rivalry..that would be like comparing dan marino to ken o'brian(sp).

Yup..... gotta keep it apples to apples here, not apples to turds. (with Henne being the apple of course!)

I'm glad we have Chad over Matt..... you could flip a coin to decide who we drafted and I'd be perfectly content with the outcome, but having Jake is the deal maker!!!

this whole topic is subjective, but will be followed by us for so long.

As pointed out in the article, Sanchez would not have even made the playoffs last year if the colts didn't mail it in vs the jets. And Henne had an opportunity to win out and get his team to the playoffs, which he didn't get done.

This year is a new year of growth for both of them. Both have good Olines, running backs, wideouts. No excuses. This year will be a big determining factor which ways both their careers are going to head towards, and i feel pretty strong that Henne is going to run with it. Best advantage he has IMO is Pennington as a mentor, Penny's accuracy is a direct result that he can read and anticipate a d. Him coaching Henne along to spot open spots (from a qb, not just a coach) will go along way in limiting turnovers, correcting mistakes and finding a rhythm with your recievers.

Henne's approach will be textbook and systematic, where i see Sanchez's setup to be more wild run and gun, which i believe could lead to some back breaking plays along with some highlight reel plays.

I'm with Williamson, I'd take Henne today and long term to be my leader and signal caller.

I couldn't agree more. Henne has all the tools to be a star - and will be one. I'm not sold at all on Sanchez. A lot of hype - but hype don't get you anywhere or give you more overall talent.

That will be the second coldest day in hell. The coldest will be when ALL the news agencies will become unbiased, fair, and accurate - really!

And right along with it will be the day I have something complimentary to say about the New York Jest.... I hope we go on a sweep tear like we had against Buffalo a long time ago, and not let them win a game against us for ten years or more.

Henne may have some questions that will be answered this season, however I saw enough good things from him last year to believe the article is right. Plus I believe we have surrounded Henne with a better cast of weapons, running game, OL-wash, but I'm not too worried about Henne this season. He has already shown the tools, arm, accuracy, long ball, smarts, ice in his veins. All he really needs to demonstrate now is touch and decision making. I wouldn't take Sanchez if you gave him to me.
