I hope so! its going to take a hell of an effort from this team to beat Minny though. Its possible, but we have to play darn near perfect I think.
Vegas has us getting 5.5 points..... I think thats a nice complement against a team that went to the NFC champ. last year and playing in their building. I think we can do it! Whoooohooooooo
Did you see how Favre played last week? If this defense shows up The Old Man is going to have a hard time putting on his Wranglers on monday!
Warren seems to be trumpeting Miami . Several times prior to the season opener he calle Wake "his guy"... Stated Miami needed pressure from Wake and Misi to replace JT and Joey ( spit ) . He would give that Sapp wink, attitude when talking about Wake. Genuinely seems to feel Wake will be both productive and a difference maker fwiw.
The game is winnable no question. I think one big key is whether or not our ability to contain the other team's TE has improved from last year. Shiancoe was their leading receiver last week. 76 yards and a TD. With Rice being out their passing game isn't nearly as potent as it was last year. So essentially they're a different team now. However, I think it's going to take a lot of creativity to contain AP.
I don't think it's that much of an upset if we do win. Minny has lots of potential because of how they played last year. They looked aweful in the week 1 game, granted it was against the saints. This will be a close game but either team winning wouldn't be an upset in my opinion. It gives them the edge because of their play last year, they are at home. Analysts opinions of the Vikes might be different in weeks 5-6 compared to living off 09 performance. They looked like a different team so far in 2010.
TBH, I really care very little about what some "expert" has to say. If they were correct more than incorrect, there would be no odds on NFL games.
Warren has a open mind anyway. Anythings possible. Sorry Farve but im rooting for Miami this week to.
4 Things need to happen and we will give ourselves a great shot at a win. 1. Get Pressure on Favre. 2. Contain A.P. to not have a huge day. 3. Control the clock with long sustained drives. 4. Limit turnovers on offense. My prediction is we will not win the game by lighting up the board. If we can do these 4 things, I predict a 17-10 victory.
I hove no doubt in my mind that the Fins can win this game. Having said that I don' think they are going to. For us to win we are going to have to force turnovers AND score off those turnovers. We win with our defense. I don't see our offense having much success vs the Vikes Defense.... Then again, I don't see their offense having much success vs our defense either.
I think Fasano and our backs can be very effective in the passing game this week. Once we get that established I think we can open it up vertically for a strike or two.
I'm assuming Sparano and Co have every intention of winning. I believe the plan this last offseason was for Nolans defense to combine with Sparano's goals, of infusing a quick start approach to the season. As we've all heard, Nolan's defense is less complex, and allows certain players to fly around creating havoc. A welcome change, for players like Jason Allen, and a team that for years has struggled early on, learning new defenses. While later in the season, it may be less effective as teams dial in their performance, it's strength leans more on raw talent, and aggressive play, ideal for capitalizing on teams, still trying to perfect timing and coordinated passing attacks. Now imo, is our best opportunity to strike the Vikings.
If the Dolphins win.I for one, would not call it a upset. At times I'm upset with the team but I expect them to win every week.
