Which can you see happen this year: the Dolphins sweeping the Division or going undefeated in the AFC games? Like I said..just curious
this wave of optimism is almost as bad as the equal amount of cliff diving going on about the back end of our roster. Lets see how we look against an actuall football team first since we have only faced the Bills so far.
I guess I can see anything happening with my vivid imagination, but I don't think either of those are likely. IMO a great year in the division would be sweeping the Jets and Bills and splitting with NE. I could see that happening. I'm not optimistic enough to call that likely though.
Well, to be fair, the OP said "going undefeated in the AFC games." As to the question posed by the OP, IMO the answer is neither. I think this team will have it's fair share of adversity this season. What will determine the success or failure of the season will be how they deal with the adversity, players and coaches. Having said that, the odds would obviously favor sweeping the AFCE teams, as opposed to beating all AFC opponents this year. Go Phins!
I dont think either happen. But, i think our best chances would be with sweeping te division. Either way, it doesnt matter right now. All that does is the vikings!
really? I like your optimism but give me some of what you're smokin! Even a solid top tier playoff team would be hard pressed to achieve either of the 2 scenarios you posted. Lets reassess our progress after Sunday.
Our AFC opponents are Buffalo again, New England twice, the Jets twice, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Oakland. That’s an 11-5 record just against AFC opponents. We could certainly go 11-5, but we’re not sweeping our AFC opponents in the process. That’s a tall order.
Of course, but sweeping the Div (6 wins) doesnt equate to going undefeated in the entire AFC Conf based on our schedule (6 more AFC opponents). Bottomline, our Schedule hasnt changed.....we beat BUF (impressive in BUF) but that was expected/planned. Our next 3 @MIN, NYJ, NE leading to our bye week will be a valid measuring stick. Of those next three, when the schedule came out, you would hope/expect to win 1 of those and finish 2-2 in those first four. Nothing has changed that expectation simply by winning @BUF. Long way to go, and lots of variables await us.
Maybe he meant going undefeated in the NFC games? That might make a bit more sense... Either way, I refuse to predict anything on this team. For one I don't want to feel like I'm jinxing things, and two everything is just very unpredictable right now. We haven't seen consistent play from this team since last year. We've seen one regular season game, and a bunch of pre-season that didn't use any of our regular season schemes.
We play 6 games against the division, and 6 games against AFC teams outside the division. He's asking which of the 2 is easier to sweep.
Well, not really. It was just for fun and I was curious to see how everyone would respond. Thanks for posting
