There are a lot of players, mostly defensive, who deserve the game ball today, but lets give some love to Jason Allen. 3 Picks in one game. He's been maligned his entire time here and he finally showed up today. Shout out who you think deserves some recognition for their play today.

The WHOLE defense. I can't think of one player who had a bad day on that side of the football. They won that game in the 2nd half. Alone.

This. Aside from the encroachment calls, the defense really did a great job at minimizing one of the greatest passers to ever play in the league, and a running back that many would say is #1 in the league.

Defense came up big, even with our offensive blunders.

Just because it didn't stand doesn't mean he didn't pick him off 3 times.

Can we remove Dan Henning's balls and hand them to Mike Nolan?

Mike Nolan. How can you not give the game ball to him. If this Pasqualoni was still running things, we lose last week and this week.

I'll give 4 out today. Jake Long beasted Jared Allen one-on-one all day. If not for Henne running up in the pocket, I don't think Allen registered any tackles besides those two.

Kendall Langford was a man today; tremendous penetration on the goaline stand and got another sack of Favre.

Karlos Dansby had some real nice plays in endzone and led the charge on the goaline stand.

Vontae Davis/Jason Allen - had 3 (nearly 4) INTs today. Both made excellent one-on-one tackles on Peterson, which I think went overlooked, and Davis helped finish that stop on 4th down.

The beast is loose - our defense is awesome!

There were so many games balls to go around that it's hard to limit them to just Davis. It looked like they got tired in the 3rd qrt, but can you blame them? God, they play the equivalent of three games today.

We might be relying on our defense a little to much though. I'd like to see more points from the passing game and a wildcat that actually tricks someone, but for today "all hail the defense" on a great game!

    Jason Allen for playing outstanding.
Jake Long for containing Jared Allen.
Cam Wake for getting constant pressure.
Vontae Davis for another outstanding coverage and tackling effort today. Easy on the celebrations though Vontae.
Possibly Henne too. He didn't turn the ball over at all again today. Good decisions all day long.

    Mike Nolan. Again.

Really the entire defense, but if I had to single someone out it would have to be Jason Allen with all that he's gone through. Talk about finding yourself as a professional and finally putting it all together.

    I don't agree with that.

The whole D answer is easy but a Coordinator's game plan can be just as important a factor if not more than any one players play.

I think Nolan deserves a lot of credit.

Vontae Davis is turning into an elite cb right before our eyes. you see the sticks he laid, especially on AP on that 4th and goal...ou think Revis makes that hit? He's turning into the best multi-dimensional cb in the nfl, and its his hitting that is the x factor.\\and jason allen is turning into a good nfl cb...thank the gods.

and how about sean smith with some sweet redemption on coverage for the win, blanketing shank.

The Defense did a great job....how about the offensive line, Jake Long OWNED Jared Allen all day long. It was really great to watch. Game ball has to go to Jason Allen though. This guy has been at rock bottom to fight and claw his way back up through special teams and become a starting CB...and a damn good one at that today. Game ball my friend.

After this preseason, who'd have thunk we'd beat the Vikes with such defensive flair as we did today. Color me surprised as I thought that we would be losing close games because of the defense, and low and behold....that ain't happening...we're winning close games because of the D....

At any rate, my vote would have to be Jason Allen...they finally found a position for him and he's come thru so far this season and without his performance this season, we aren't 2-0....

    IMO

    Naturally the defense...but individually...

Wake/Misi: Pressured Favre all game and gave us the winning score. Bad decisions, at times, come under heavy duress and I credit these guys just as much if not more for helping our secondary and team win the game.

Jason Allen: 2 picks and good coverage.

Fields: Field Position helped win this game and I do not think the Vikings ever started a drive past the 40.

Now that's getting ahead of yourself. Long has gotten much better but I would like to see him shut it down for the whole season. But yes, he was extremely solid today.

Dont forget why they are having that success. They are not getting doubled and are able to just beat their man because of the great play by Starks who is playing well and swallowing up multiple blockers leaving the outside rushers one on one and just aiming for the QB.

Gandalf, I agree man. The inside presence gives them the opportunity to make plays. All around great effort by everyone. Soliai did rather well at NT, which is great to see as well.

I would like to see the D as a whole do better at tackling though, couple times in the second half they got good push in the backfield only to have AP break tackles...Credit AP though..."tough to bring down" is an understatement.

Big ups to the offensive line for more than holding their own against the best front four in the league. That's a very good front seven and Miami was doing their thing. Especially in the first half.

Second half, we started inside the 2 yard line three times in our last four drives. Kinda mars the effort. But Henne was largely unmolested. And we were opening holes to run thru more often than they're used to.
And to pile on, Jake Long beasted Jared Allen with an sprained MCL. If it weren't for Henne taking off running, you wouldn't have known Allen played today. That one play in the first half, where it looked like Long and Allen were standing still hugging.....it doesn't get much more dominant than that.

The entire defense gets a game ball. They're fast, they're physical, they're disciplined and they've got some big brass ones.

Favre admitted after the game that part of the game plan was to exploit our secondary
    especially Jason Allen.

It turned out that our secondary especially Jason Allen exploited Favre.
