id give two game balls out.
    one to vontae davis
    one to jason allen

those two made more decisive plays than anyone else today.

Id give to everyone but Dobbins, he was somewhat dissapointing, but the rest of the defense was lights out. Davis and Allen shut down the passing game, even SS24 made a play to seal the win. The DL was dominant except for a late fade against Peterson, but that man is a monster - at least we didn't let him break any.

And Dansby of course, the man is worth his weight in gold so far - think he saved two TDs with the deflection on the pass to Shiancoe early, and then stoning Peterson on the goal line.

Revis is actually pretty solid in run support, I hate the man but he is pretty good. I think Davis can be better though, he is coming on hard and fast, though he needs to be careful on the celebrations not to hurt himself!

Would take Allen over Cro by a mile at this point though.

The only defensive disappointments imo were Sapp and Dobbins. Offensively, the whole line played well overall against possibly the best front 7 in the league, and Long made Allen into a magicians vanishing act.
Disapointing day for our running backs though, losing those fumbles. We can't do that again and expect to to win. Neither of those were balls that should have hit the turf.

How many times did we hear "right tackle?" Well yeah, he was the right tackle ... to pick!

I thought Dobbins was near horrible today.

I posted the quote in another thread, however it fits this one as well. GO DAVIS!

Since you touched on Dobbins, Dupree, I would like to mention that Carpenter played pretty good. I was surprised to see how many snaps he got, but he did get his hat in on a couple plays.

Yeah how he missed Favre on that wide open blitz I don't know - if that were Dansby Favre would have been planted.

He whiffed on AP once in the backfield as well. Didn't have a great shot, but he went for a weak ankle slap instead of grabbing and holding. AP doesn't get ankle swept. We do miss Crowder - that second ILB spot may be the weakest link we have atm, which is admittedly much better than we all expected to this point.

To me, the single best performance was Jake Long.

There might not be a better defensive end in the game than Jared Allen. Allen's 72 sacks the past six seasons (that's an average of 12 per) is the most in the NFL. 6-6, 270. He's a complete player.

The point is, Long faced elite competition more than anyone else today. That was a heavyweight championship bout right there. And Long turned into a sparring session, even with the added disadvantage of crowd noise.

We have a BEAST of a left tackle.
