    Offense:

    - Henne looks apprehensive to "let it loose". I like the fact that he's not making the stupid plays, but I do not like the fact that he is playing too safe. I know this offense is predicated by time possession and ball control, but he is going to soon have to loosen up a little to help the defense.

    - Incognito had two straight dufus plays on the drive where Ronnie busted loose from the 1 yard line. One led to a sack where he totally missed Williams, and the other allowed Greenway to catch the back in backfield. That was an important shift in momentum that kept Minnesota in the game.

    - Pulling the guards worked in this game and should continue to work during the season. It's beginning to look like a strength.

    - Play-calling in the 4th quarter was a little too conservative. When Miami had a chance to eat some clock, they did EXACTLY what Minny's D expected: Run the ball on the first play from scrimmage. Throw a damn pass on first down every once in awhile to keep them honest!

    - Pass protection from the outside looked solid. Long really held his own against one of the best in the business on his home turf. Kudos!

    - Two words: Lousaka Polite.

    Defense:

    - Dansby over-pursued late in the game on some of the late game AP runs, but more than made up for it with the goal-line stop and the knock-away in the endzone against Shiancoe. That's 14 points! Thanks Dansby!!!

    - Cameron Wake is winning me over. He has a high motor and is making game-changing plays. Guy is good. Also, props to Koa Misi. They're young, always active.

    - Sean Smith is a liability against slot receivers. He does not have the quick hips to keep up with those guys. I feel like he is better suited against TEs, as shown late in the game against Shiancoe. I seriously doubt he wins back a starting job this year, save injury.

    - Vontae Davis is impressive. Of course, I always thought he would be. He is a really solid hitter and tackler. Way to help Dansby on the goal-line stand!

    - Soliai played decently. Can't really remember anything negative on him this game.

    - The miscommunication needs to stop now! Two "12-men on the field" penalties in one game, much less on the same drive is too much. Also, the 'defensive end dropping back into coverage' play caused miscommunication (and a big play) for the second week in a row. Please fix it, Nolan!

    - Backfield pressure on a few AP runs was good, but did not stop him from gaining big yards. I know, he's probably the best in the league, but it was still frustrating to watch.

    - Jason Allen, I am glad you did not sell your condo this offseason. You worked your butt off in OTAs and TC and it has finally payed off. I suspect that you will get more chances at INTs because Vontae is almost like Fort Knox on the other side. Please keep it up!

    Special Teams:

    - Why did Miami pick up Clifton Smith??? I have truly been unimpressed. Is he not getting any blocking?

    - I like how they've been pinning the opposing team deep into their own territory. Field position is critical in the NFL, especially for a team like Miami.

Good post. Incognito had me screaming at the TV all afternoon.

I recall Dansby's PBU in the end zone coming the play before the Viks scored their TD. So, it only temporarily saved 6 points.

I agree, Henne needs to take a few chances every now and them.

Well, overall I thought the Offense was just sloppy, especially in the 2nd half.

Great write up CMax, the Monday after a win threads can slide down the page quickly.

Henning needs to grow a pair, we know Henne has the arm. Unleash it.

For a young guy making the smart plays is better than trying to force the ball into coverage. He will improve as the year goes on, nothing to worry about at all. He reminds me a bit of Phil Simms, not the douche in the TV booth, the player.

I believe the 12 men on the field were back to back flags. :tantrum:

Clifton Smith has not impressed me either.

Henne will air it out when he needs to air it out. Sure he doesn't have the gaudy stats like say Brady, but he is also 2-0, which to our staff is all that matters.

If were trailing by 2 or more scores i suspect Henne will open it up.

Nice write up Colemax. Agree with all of it.

I thought Langford had a solid game as well. The play that stood out is when he chased AP to the sideline to make sure he didn't turn the corner, was a 1-2 yard gain instead of a 15 or more yard gain.

The last couple drives we should of targeted Bess. Who wasn't thrown to all day. We needed 10 yards on 3rd down and even if we came up short a sure short pass to Bess with a run after either could have got the first down or at least kept the clock moving. 1:42 with one timeout vs the Vikes at home is too much time. I'm not sure if Bess was able to get open but I was expecting Bess to get that target. Poor play calling and execution in my opinion.

Other play that was a little baffling was giving ricky the ball on the second time we were at our 1. If you dont' want to give it to Ronnie again as they loaded up the left side on D, give it to Lousanka to get you some breathing room. He's auto for a few yards. His predictability to gain a few for a first down could have been utilized in a different situation to get us off the goal line. Poor decision on that one. Not that Ricky usually fumbles but he wasn't running very good at any point in the game. Henning needs to realize that and go with the back that is working.

Ronnie looked abysmal and sleepy on his fumble. He approached that line like he had no interest in carrying it at all. I know he was waiting for a seam to open up, which can be great but he should have realized ball security is the more important issue where the game was at. Poor situational read by Ronnie on that one. Again, we don't usually see that from him so i'm not concerned at all, just something that stood out.

I honestly cannot recall, but I think you're right. Guess it doesn't matter if they make it in the endzone. Was a nice solo effort by Dansby, nonetheless....
