What stands out in my mind (I was 15) was seeing Marino's reaction after the miss...its like he knew he was never gonna get back. Sad.

for me? Fins Raiders in October of late 70's (78 I think). Larry fumbled twice on the one yard line... first time I had seen the Fins live.

was this the game, where shula had the chance to take a penalty and force the chargers to a FG but he took it and they converted a like 3rd and 17 for a TD ?

Hey I was just looking through some Dolphins photos for this year so far and for some reason they had the Stoyanovich one included.

    True story

that game sucked. i really thought we were going to stomp them. the worst is still the sea of hands game. i never doubted we would win that game. then when stabler sucked up all the luck in the universe on that last throw I was in complete shock. plus it was christmas eve

I remember exactly when stoyanovich missed that fieldgoal. I was 10 years old and called my dad on the phone while he was at work. (he's a pastor but let me stay home to watch the game) I was telling him the dolphins were going to kick the winning field goal and I was going to give him a play by play. He missed the kick and I yell out God Dammit and just start balling and hang up the phone. My dad came home that night and told me he understood why I was mad but to not get angry. It's been 16 years and I still act the same way LOL.

Anyone remember the crazy forward pass by Keith Jackson in this game.
We were penalized from our own 10 or something after a big catch over the middle. He was trying to lateral the ball off to Fryar and he threw it forward and fumbled. Pissed me off.

Consider us lucky. The 49ers would have handed us our *** in the Super Bowl that year. Marino would still be in therapy seeing all things San Francisco if this had happened.

Never consider us lucky to not get to the SB Sam. I watched two losses as a teen and would love to get back in that game. They hurt badly of course but there is not a better feeling than being there.

It will just make it sweeter when we win our 3rd SB......I have been waiting since 1974 (when I was 8 years old) for another Championship. BUT just think how the fans in Cleveland feel....they haven't won anything since 1964.

I'd rather get killed in the Super Bowl versus any other fate

I'm not going to lie: I cried after that game. And, as someone else mentioned, Marino had that look on his face that seemed to say, "I'll never get back." I also will always remember the classiness of Dan after the game. He didn't blame Stoyanovich. He simply said, "I should have gotten us closer to make it an easier attempt."
