If Edwards has been busted by the league for substance abuse, which we don't know because the 1st time is confidential, he could face a suspension of up to 4 games. It does not matter if the previous would have been alcohol related or not.

The same would apply to Ronnie.

It probably won't affect his availability on Sunday Night, but it gives me plenty of fodder for jetnation.com and the manifesto.

If he does play I'm hoping we can get some good taunting in on Sunday night.

5 days until my first home opener and 13 days until my first MNF game!

They could start the freaking Janitors, and this would still be a grind. That has nothing to do with how good our bad our team is, it's just a fact. Dolphins vs Jets = Brutal

Supposedly he was at a charity event for a teammate. Anyone seen the pictures from the event? Braylon is shown with TWO drinks in every single one of them. Different types of drinks too, so he was double fisting all night long.

yeah I mean the key is how long is his probabtion??....inactive probation just means he doesnt have to report to a PO, but there is still a length of time he is on probation....

I havent been able to find it, and even if he does volate it, they would have to drag him to cleveland to impose sentence.....and I just dont see Cleveland caring that much...

Fitting, considering Rex runs that team like a sloppy frat party. This drunken frat boy wont even be punished, while most of the media was stating he should be suspended by the Jests for this game, at the very least. They'll probably make him team captain for the game.

TheJetsStream: D'Brickashaw Ferguson AND Vernon Gholston were in car with Braylon Edwards, according to source.

Just keeps getting better, doesn't it?? Don't think the Jets will do anything to them since they were passengers other then yell at them, but they obviously knew he was drunk.

    Boston, MA...

Twice actually! Did you see the 2 point conversion? It was real close to be a second flag...

What makes me laugh further about this is that THE Workout Warrior was involved...should he not be worrying about getting on the field some more after going that high and so far being a bust...?

Unfortunately, I agree he may not be suspended in time for our game, but it does hurt their team no matter how you slice it down the road.

Braylon Edwards really disgusts me as a football fan.

    He's perfect for the Jets.

 Way to stay classy Edwards.

Bummer for him though, he was quite the talented and promising player coming out of Michigan. The things I watched that kid do for the Wolverines was very impressive. Too bad his head got the better of him once he hit the NFL, now he's just a schmuck instead of being the talented, dominating WR he coulda been.

He'll be benched for the first series and then be put back in. The Jets want to win this game, they don't care about discipline right now.

    Another nugget to all this:

ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini spoke to one unnamed Jets teammate who said: "It's ridiculous. First, we have a program in place to prevent this exact thing. Second, he's in a contract year, and if he can't keep his nose clean this year, how about when he gets a new contract? He has money to call for a ride. ... Some people can't handle a little success. ... We just started putting that reporter stuff behind us, and now this. They should fine him to the max. This is just stupid."

I don't know about you people but I want nothing to do with him being suspended.

I want to play the Jets at full strength!

Edwards makes them better, sure but he is prone to have a drop or two and let him do that taunting to one of our players. My bet is they head hunt his *** if he does.

Edwards is not the best receiver on the team anyway. That would be Keller....

Good news....more dropped passes and no excuses after we kick the Jet's azz. It's too bad Revis Island isn't going to be there to get his too.

The Jets really can't do much about Edwards. This from the NFL's Greg Aiello:

This is an important point for a couple of reasons. I am fine with the league cracking down on actions like Edwards. But, I also remember fans saying the Dolphins were hypocritical for not punishing Brown or Allen for their DUI's during the off-season. However, they really can't do much for that.

The league problem, of course, is that they have to wait for the outcome of the case. I have little doubt that Edwards is at fault but there have been instances where things were not as they first appeared.

I also think it is better for the league to be the disciplinarians, not teams. The reason is, a team that has no conscience may not suspend a player, but another team (e.g., the Steelers) might do so. It creates a very uneven playing field both for teams and players (to say nothing of Vegas lines).

One thing I don't like about the CBA deal is that the league cannot technically treat this DUI as a "second" offense to the occasion in Cleveland where Edwards punched a guy. Those are two actions of bad behavior - but the league, per CBA, has to treat them separately. Of course, sometimes Goodell will just deal with overall issues (as he did with Big Ben).

Of course, nothing would make me happier than to see the Jets implode as a team on the field - especially after the moves they made the last year with the kind of players they brought in. Keep up the momentum, Jets!

    :sidelol: :sidelol:

    Post of the week.

I didn't notice this on the board, but what is also additionally ridiculous:

Edwards was drinking with Donte Stallworth in Miami the night Stallworth killed the pedestrian (though Edwards was not with Stallworth during the accident).

Even after THAT and he still is going out drinking? That is just over the top unbelievable.

That gives him a higher 'moronic' rating on the stupidity scale than a Habanero has on the Scofield scale.

Damien Woody was on Sirius tonight, he was all pro sticking with his teamate Edwards through this difficult situation. I had a feeling he wasn't speaking for the whole team.

What that unamed jet said is bang on. There's no excuse for it.
