Fascinating, I wonder if Jest fans have gotten the memo that we play Defense in Miami now?

He's been really complimentary about everyone. He raved about Jake and Vontae in his press conference. Pretty weird for Rex.

Perhaps, he is trying not to rile us up anymore than we already are or give us bulletin board material for the game...

Clearly, he's trying to bloat our players' egoes so it gets to their heads just like he unwittingly did to his entire team.

    I guess I shouldn't be surprised "but":

Mike Nolan is Rex Ryan's former boss in Baltimore back when Rexxy was just a newbie Defensive Assistant Coordinator making photocopies and bringing coffee.

When Nolan went to SF Rex inherited Nolan's scheme and added his own concepts from his father Buddy Ryan, needles to say those two go way back.

I'm surprised more folks have not thought about the fact that Rex Ryan interviewed for the Head Coaching job in 2008, he could have been the Head Coach in Miami.

A reason why Rex said that about hiring Mike Nolan:

Against the Bills they allowed 9 first downs

Against the Vikings, in 9 drives, 7 ended in turnovers either on Int's or on downs.

    THAT is outstanding Defense.

Could he be maturing? Or just tired of looking like a jerk? Maybe he has hired a public relations company to help him build his public persona. One thing is for sure - we will test his new persona Sunday night. :wink2:

I like Rex better when he's giving our team bulletin board material. This complimentary BS is disturbing, to say the least.

Nolan has been a DC for a very long time. As of now there has only been one year his defense collapsed like that so I don't accept that that's the norm. I didn't follow Denver that closely last year but something tells me there has to be extenuating circumstances.

When your offense is averaging 17.8 pts a game in losses, it's not necessarily an issue with the D....There's a big difference in playing in close games versus games in which your offense can't keep pace...

Agreed. Like I said I just dont think its fair to place all that on Mike. I mean I'm not sure if there was injurys or even of their control freak of a coach stepped in and made him change some things. Remember is was disagreements in coaching philosophy between Nolan and McDaniels that led Mike to ask if he could interview with us. :knucks:

I think the PR department and The higher ups are doing damage control after Moses got arrested. They have to at least portray a tightly run ship now.

    STFU.
We beat you twice last year without him and a QB who looked liked Marino because of your D.
Nolan is a great Coordinator. We(I) don't need you telling me what we have.
My goodness,it took him a year to start throwing out the love for the Dolphins.
Is he finally learning to shut his mouth?

I am reading that DIFFERENTLY than most of you.

Like saying: "Your lucky that he is there, because if not, your puny team would be 0-2, and after our game be 0-3. If not for him, your team is sh@$ out of luck."

He's still being an arrogant jerk. Hey Rex, don't tell me what I should and shouldn't be glad about! I'm glad we got Jake Long and Chad Henne and Brandon Marshall too. I'm glad I'm not a fat **** who lives in New Jersey like you!

Was just about to post this.

The Jets look like an absolute freaking disaster PR wise, and the more they portray that, the more their players will buy into and feed that. Between that, and Sheriff Goodell roaming the halls, I think that organization realizes its time to reel in things.

That, and honestly, how much more boasting/grandstanding can they do? They're 0-2 against us with him as HC. He really doesn't have a leg to stand on if he were to try to take any shots.

I watched Rex's PC from today. Either he is playing everyone, or he has realized the error of his ways. He seriously gave us a ton of credit. Said we obviously out played them last year, said we have a great team and that he loves Henne and thinks he will be an outstanding QB.

He hasn't learned, he's backtracking cause he know's his own mouth and the mouth of his players, have brought negative vibes to his franchise's way, and he's try to be karmatically correct..he also knows were well coached, diciplined, and physical....

What I give him credit for, is not giving us anymore ammunition..too late.
