I started off a Redskins fan, which at the time was my local market team. I was around 6 or 7 when I flipped to the Eagles for a year just to be the opposite of what my Dad was. My aunt moved to South Florida when I was young, and she became a die hard Dolphins fan. I started to root for them as well because it was just fun to watch football with her when she was in town. Eventually, my cousin got a job with the Phins and he started sending all sorts of fun free clothes and stuff up, and that was that. It also didn't hurt that Marino was the man at the time. ;)

I grew up in New Jersey, but when I was younger, every winter we went down to Florida for a vacation, and we'd always make a Dolphins game part of it. Dan Marino was my favorite player growing up, got to see him play every year. The Phins have just stuck with me ever since then

I am an Arizona native who is born and raised in Phoenix. My dad is a Cowboys fan and during their glory years of the early '90's, I was getting used to hearing him scream Cowboys every time they would score. I got tired of it and wanted to see what he was screaming about. I saw in 1995 or 1996 Marino, avoid a sack by sliding around the pocket and delivered a rocket bomb to a receiver. I was sold on the Dolphins. I did a research on them and learned about their Super Bowl years and the Perfect Season. I was a fanatic ever since and will never go to another team. Ever!! Go Dolphins!! Dolfan 4 Life baby!!!

Being from an immigrant family, football wasn't a part of our lives. My karate teacher was a huge Dolphins fan and he would invite my cousins and me to watch games with him on Sunday. He showed me the ways of Marino and taught me to hate the Jets. He took me to my first game and taught me to chant,"F*** the Jets!"

My Dad got stationed here in Miami in 1966/7 and he retired here and I was more than happy to live in the warm weather after our previous stint in Alaska.

I used to play football in a field near my house that was part of an orphanage. Every single week during footbal season, they were given about 20 tickets to see the Dolphins and they invited me every single time. So I got to see every single game from 1970 thru 77. That's right! Every single game of the undefeated season! Been a diehard ever since......

Pfft anything says something to me it's not like the 49ers or Raiders are that tight. At least we win our division once in a while.

But as for why I'm a Dolphins fan. Was born in Florida and lived there for the first four years of my life. Both my parents are Dolphins fans. (my mom was actually at the game where Griese broke his ankle in 72) Pretty simple equation.

I live about 20 minutes east of Concord, I'm sure you know where that is. :)

For some reason, moving to three different cities in Mississippi, Dolphins were always the default coverage team up until I moved here to the Coast.

But my Dad called me in to watch a Christmas eve game in the third quarter of the legendary "longest game" vs. KC in 1971 and I was 8 or 9 at the time. Hooked from then on.

There were times in my teenage years when my Dad and I couldn't talk about anything, but we always enjoyed Dolphin football together, every Sunday (or Monday night, or the occasional late season Saturday game). He was really a bigger Saints fan than the Dolphins, but he enjoyed the Dolphins games with me because, well, that's what a Dad does. God bless your soul Daddy. Love ya, man.

Grew up in Tampa and had an older brother (4 yrs). My parents didn't know any better about sports, but knew better than to give us the same team stuff, to avoid arguments and such. So big bro got Bucs shirts/hats/jerseys and I got the "other" team sold in the area. One time playing football w/ big bro's friends, I was wearing the "85" jersey I had (knew nothing about the Dolphins) and everyone kept calling me Duper, which I didn't get, but everyone seemed to know who Duper was, so I caught the next Dolphins game on TV...happened to be a game in which he caught only one ball, but it was a long TD. I remember it beig a close, exciting game. I was die hard after that.
