We can all sit here and nitpick every play and reason why we should have won this game.. But let's not lose sight of the fact that the Jets were playing in the AFC Championship game last season, and have come roaring back from a putrid start that had many of us giddy..

I hate to admit it, but the Jets looked really good last night.. With all the controversy surrounding the team, they came out firing, had faith in their QB and put up 14 quick points on the road... All while missing their best defensive player..

We didn't deserve to win this game. The Jets outplayed us and when the game was on the line. Their OL was opening massive holes for their RB's and Sanchez converted when they needed first downs.

If Sparano and Company showed the same confidence in Henne that Ryan is now showing Sanchez, this franchise would be farther along.. These WC wrinkles in the middle of successful drives is maddening and needs to be stopped immediately.

Guys. The difference between us and Rex Ryan (outside of a few hundred pounds) is we give credit where credit is due.

I guess what chafes me the most about this is that when we were 1-15, the Jets went 4-12. Last year they go to the AFC championship game while we stay at home. Then tonight, they come into our house without Revis, Pace or Holmes and they just punched us in the mouth. Yeah, they're a better team, but we should be winning games like this, we should be better than we are out there, and now we have to come back after this loss and beat the Pats on Monday night.

The reality is only this.....the JETS shot themselves in the foot LESS than Miami did. So great....they have 9 missing toes....we have 10 blown off......good for them.

We blew it....we came out Flat on D to open the game, We battle back to take our only lead, just to watch this D again give up a 1 play TD score, never to regain the lead or even tie it, and in the biggest drive at the end....we failed by letting them go 80 yds for TD with bonehead mistakes, dropped INTs, PI's in the endzone on 3rd down, etc.

Then when we had a long shot chance to tie it up, we Failed on 4 plays to score from inside the 10.

This is less to do with typical DIV opponent....its all to do with how many mistakes we made.

We then got Long, and they got Gholston.

The following year we went 11-5 and they went 9-7.

    Feel better?

...the Patriot's secondary and lack of any pass-rush. Henne has to be licking his chops.

    Feel better?

True, but there was a lot more talent on that 4-12 Jets team than on that 1-15 Fins team. A LOT more. You have to remember the Jets have been the playoffs 5 of the last 9 years. They didn't have nearly the reclamation project we had on our hands.

if henne starts showing improvement on certain things then sporano and company will get the faith in him.henne is still holding to ball too long, over throwing deep recievers and not hitting his recievers in stride, not getting it to them with no chance of them making anything out of it.

    sanchez is a gimmick

they didn't outplay us,we failed to take advantage of the things given to us.edwards didn't outplay jason allen..he slipped on his own accord.langford was handed a pick 6 by sanchez in a nice gift basket and he dropped it,henning chose not to trust the guy they paid 50 mill to make plays down in the endzone and so on-so on.

you don't throw for 360 yards or hold the ball for 40 minutes and lose the game..it's all on us.the jets are a good team that we should've beat like an old rug.

I give all the credit in the world to them...as hard as that is to say. The thing is, this is a game we shoulda/coulda won, and shoulda/coulda losses come January will be hard to overcome...

The jests aren't chopped liver. That said, they are beatable if we don't have a CB on roller skates or Misi and Wake actually show up or Doggins (my new name for him) doesn't put on the Akin Ayodele mask or the STs can't/won't/aren't coached up enough, aren't talented enough to make a play...period.

The Jets played the sort of game I'd hoped the Dolphins played.

    Pressure on:

    -Offense
    -Defense
    -Special Teams

Every phase of the game they had the talent and scheme to force us to make plays, from long returns to Sanchez having a great game to clogging the running lanes, credit were it is do.

But we didnt. Just like we didn't beat the SB winning Saints (at home) when we should have, just like we didnt beat the SB runner up Colts (at home) when we should have. Good teams win games they should lose. Bad teams lose games they should win. We arent good enough....not nearly so. What I saw last night was a team much closer to 7-9 than 12-4. Thats the wrong direction.

This is meaningless. Only things that matter now are what happens this season. We just lost a game, by all accounts, we should have won...except, we sucked when it counted. They did not.

They beat us in the physical dept, did'nt feel like we ever were gonna make the right play at the right time., and we didn't, and they did it without their best players..

This is a year of evaluation as much as it is anything...we need to work on this team, lots of missing parts.

Eh, cannot imagine Holmes or Pace would have contributed more than Taylor and Smith did Deej.

Young team, Sparano is also a fine counter puncher we'll bounce back.

This....while Miami was too busy trying to think of something to beat the Jets in key spots...something that will "catch them off guard"....the Jets simply do what they do best....run, make good high percentage passes, and pressure the quarterback....

I give all the credit in the world to the Jets, they came into a hostile environment, and handed Miami *** back to them......not an easy thing to do, win a road game in the division......

True that, and better believe the Pastriots were taking notes.

Sparano said it best when he said there are some things on film that other teams will attack until they get it fixed and they have to put this loss in the rearview and prepare for the Pats.

Well, tomorrow is Disappearing Player Tuesday, will be interesting to see if they bring anyone in, last week Nalbone and Smith got the ax, this week it would not surprise if some ST guys also got the ax.

That is what happened in 2008, they kept on bringing in ST guys until the ended up with at least competent players.

    Take it easy

Seems some dolphin fans are panicking a little, saying we didn't do this or that when it counted.... Remember the you can say what you want about them but lot of these jets players have been in huge games, won road playoff games and are battle tested in big spots ....takes time and will come for fins

We played a depleted Jet team ...we have no excuses, were not as good as the jets at this point, the situation last night, call's for your best game...and that game as we all saw, is not there yet in games like this...and its not as close as the score would indicate.

    Traditional 1 cut runner..

    Tight End.....Bigtime...

    3rd down scatback...

    Full time returner..

    another Middle linebacker...

Bro, 13 games to go, after we play the Pats on MNF there is a sort of demolition derby set up for the AFCE teams.

Sparano has always started slowly, this year we had an unexpected bump by starting 2-0, and we tend to get stronger as the season rolls along.

Have some patience Deej, the 9 new starters on Defense were sort of exposed and it just takes time for young OLB's to learn their job.

Not panicked I am effing annoyed about the lack of execution, on all phases...their ST is a joke, I literally said "I'll take it" when they returned a KO to the 23.....thats sucks! But their ST is so bad that I an only concerned with them not fumbling, everything and anything after is a plus.....again that sucks, we, and they should expect better....the KO coverage was a freaking joke.....kicking the ball out of bounds 2X in 3 weeks...cant happen...Carpenter should only do that 2X in his career let alone in 3 weeks.....samething with 12 men on the field 2X in 3 weeks, thats coaching guys, simple simple simple.....

for me the positives were henne, and marshall, those 2 have some confidence going forward, and they didnt quit after being down 14-0...

not a positive but they got douched on 2 plays...one was the Clemons "hit"....Clemons stuck his helmet in the shoulder of the receiver, and actually was letting up, no way thats a penalty...and the PI late was the other, Jason Allen got his turned around on that play...that being said everybody gets douched on plays, it is the nature of the game, and not an excuse by any means, but those where big breaks at huge times in the game for the Jets.....

It will be great to see this young team have to come back in the same situation and play the Pat's....Lets hope the offense coming together, and the defense learning from their mistakes forms a better product on the field.

Special Teams as well, Deej, the Pats Returner Tate is the NCAA record holder for most Return yardage.

Be interesting to see if JA tightens his game up v Moss, as we know Brady goes right at JA when he is on Moss and he has since 2007.

absolutely Pod, this year is different for me, I know their young, I know it's gonna take time, and I know where we came from...My thought process is to become good enough to make a run at the playoff's while keeping an eye on personell upgrades..

As much as I hate the Jest, and its ALOT have to give them credit. I think we are heading into another era where both teams are close and we have some epic QB battles ahead between Sanchez and Henne ala Marino and OBrien.

It frustrates me when people complain about this instead of crediting the player for making a great play. Few DL intercept passes. If Langford did not sniff this out then LT (I think it was LT) would be up the field for, at the very least, a 5 yd gain. Also, Sanchez threw it right at his dam facemask and it bounced...you have to have the hand/eye coordination of Marvin Harrison (exaggeration but nonetheless to make a point) to make that pick. All I am saying is get off the guy's jock: Great diagnosing of the play by a DL, bad luck he could not keep his hands on it. Lets move on to the Pats.

call me crazy but I see a good matchup there...tate, welker, eddleman, gronkowski, hernandez, different story, lol.

Sean smith cant even cover a tightend at this point, how they hell is he gonna stick with one of these guys..

Its a tough situation for this young defense, lets see if they can come out alive.
