I hate the Jets. I hate the Jets with same intensity I love the Dolphins.

    Yet, I'm calm.

In fact, I'm more than calm, I'm feeling pretty good about the team.

Henne lit it up. He had no TOs again. I feel certain, we have our QB now. Is he perfect? No. Will he be incredible...before the end of the season? Yes, I believe so.

Henning made some bad calls. All coordinators do. For every WC play, there were many more that allowed Henne to shine. My main problem with the play calling was the lack of running, and then the lack of Ronnie when runs were called. The strange thing about this staff, is they seem to be unsure of Ronnie, until about game 4. Its a weird thing I don't understand.

The defense didn't play as well as they have. Maybe the Jets O is better than the Bills & Vikes. Maybe we didn't get any pressure. Maybe there was some lucky calls and bounces. Probably a little of all three.

Jason Allen shouldn't be the goat. He slipped on Edwards TD. That's just the way it goes sometimes. The PI was weird. It was n't the wrong call, but there wasn't much he could do about it. He did screw up on the first down play by allowing the underneath, but I've yet to see a player be perfect, every down.

This was a great game actually. Let's get off the ledge and focus on the Pats. The Jets deserved this game.

God I feel the same way it's weird. Like we're gonna go put a bunch of wins in a row together or something!

I'm the same way. We played poorly on D and ST, and still had a chance to win. I am more worried about NE than the Jets to be honest.

I'm worried less. The division has turned. The Pats are far from the best team now.

Eh we get our heads out of asses and get both units playing to their potential we are very scary. Now will that happen ...........well thats another story. Jets deserved the win, they did what they had to, we didn't.

Funny. I was about to start the same exact thread.

We're still in good shape and we finally saw what kind of offense we have. Chad Henne was terrific tonight, and the receivers are all playing very well. Marshall really is something else.

Defense really let us down tonight. As did special teams.

Im not calm. Miami is a good team and that makes me all the more frustrated when they lose a game like tonights. Next week is a big game against a tough offense. It won't be easy but it is possible.

I'm calm too, but it's more of a depressed calm.

I'm glad that Henne can play. I'm glad that most of my fears I had about him are put to bed. He can play. Still needs to develop, but he can play.

However this is a game we could have won. The defense can't stop the run. I'll be glad when Crowder is back. He's much better than Dobbins who flat out sucks. The jets ran the ball down our throats none the less and that is just the facts. Our inability to stop people on 3rd is scary too...

Henning is hot and cold... He's a genius one second and a dumbass the next.

I guess the most frustrating thing is, can we win big games? Is this going to be like last year? We'll play teams close and find a way to lose? Are we truly contenders? I'm sick of rebuilding and I'm sick of being close. I want another AFC east title and a playoff run. This is the kinda game that makes me wonder if we can really make a run.

I don't know if this post makes any sense whatsoever. My energy is drained and I'm too tired to proof read it. Really disappointing loss.

Count me in as one who is actually positive about this game. We are better than last year and that means we are a legitimate playoff team. No injuries and we should be playing in january

    Heh, so was I.

We saw that the offense can move the ball through the air...and OMG...that final drive was insane! Thrity seconds we're at the goal line...and props to the Jets for stoppng us. I was screaming for Wildcat on first down (all 4 downs since we weren't going to pass it in, actually) but that's Henning's call and I don't want to badmouth anyone tonight...I saw too much promise.

All the touch passes from Henne, Marshall finally having a breakout game, and the offense opening up made me feel strangely calm for a loss against the Jets.

The Jets were better tonight though, so hats off to them. If we picked off that easy INT screen pass I think we would have won the game, but I'm not going to start the what-if game and complain...not tonight (although maybe tommorrow). Go Fins!

Thanks for putting that down and saving me the time to write it.

Its just for me man 1992 (year we got AFCE title and then to AFC Championship game) just keeps getting further and further away.

    Just disappointing.

    Good post.......some good points

I do think Jason Allen was terrible tonight tho and it's just part of the "boom or bust" kind of play we've always gotten from him and what's kept him out of the line up.

A win against NE next week should do wonders...

Im with you guys. We spotted them 14 pts. and at that point in time i was pissed. But our offense showed us for the first time what they can really do! Henne played great once he calmed down, and you seen why we traded 2 draft picks for Marshall. HE IS THE BEAST. Now it's just time for Sporano to unleash Ronnie and we'll be clicking the whole way around!

It was a frustrating loss tonight, but looking ahead to next week? A win versus the Pats and all is right with the world! If you had told me Miami could be 3-1 after the first four games before the season began, I'd have taken it in a heartbeat!

Special teams needs work, the Wildcat should be saved for goalline plays, and Ricky needs to hold onto the football better. Jason Allen took a step back tonight, but maybe he'll learn the lessons he needs to and make a play or two next game.

No reason we shouldn't be able to move the ball on that Pats D, outside of some bad play-calling by Henning anyway.

Each game is a new one....nothing carries over....no irrelevant speculation of what one team did against someone else will ever equate to what situation will face Henne on a given day.

We are 2-1 after 3 games. We have a legit chance to go 3-1. This weeks loss is just one out of 16 over a long season.

We cant beat ourselves....if we do, doesnt matter the competition or their past performance, cause beating yourself guarantees your opponent gets off easy. I am ok with where we stand right now. Dont like it, but ok with it.

We have to turn the tide of failing to step up....GREAT TEAMs step up and make plays to pull themselves out of beating themselves. We didnt. But going forward I do feel we can reverse this trend and become a GREAT TEAM again.

I'll go as far as to say that while I believe we're going to beat New England next week, I won't panic even if they lose that game.

Despite, a horrid performance last night, it's clear that this year's defense is significantly better than last year's (and is filled with youth and athleticism). And most importantly, it looks like we finally have a franchise quarterback and a top-tier No. 1 receiver that he can throw to (hopefully we can add a top-tier tight end this offseason).

Even at 2-2, this team looks like it will be primed for a playoff push late in the offseason, and at 3-1, they could push for a divisional title and dare-I-say, some homefield advantage.

P.S. I do blame Jason Allen on both of those plays as well as the dropped INT early in the game. This is the NFL, so things like slipping are not acceptable. He's played well thus far, but when you play cornerback in the NFL, 1-2 plays makes the different between good and great.

I don't feel that bad either as we are 2-1, and we could have very easily lost to Buffalo or the Vikings. We have a very tough three games coming up with the Pats, Green Bay and Pittsburgh, but I think we can compete with anyone, we just have to make less mistakes.

Could have been anyone, true....However, take notice how often this kid seems to lose his balance ?? I'm not too down on him for that particular play. This string of 3 games is the best he's played in 5 yrs here... There's a reason he hasn't cracked the lineup since pressed into play his rookie year. This was one of those reasons...

That said, we have to learn to beat teams that we are capable of beating. We didn't do that tonight...too many mistakes and too many missed opportunities...

Did anyone else have a problem with the sluggishness of this team to start the game out ?? Seems to be an on-going issue with this team under Sparano and big games...

Jason Allen had a tough game, but he was not the only reason we got beat. I think d-backs have the hardest job on the field. They can look great for 95% of the game, but if you miss a couple tackles, like Allen did, you stand there and watch Braylon Edwards running down the sidelines for a TD.

It just seems like our defense has opportunities to make interceptions and everytime we have a sure "pick" we drop the ball. Teams like the Steelers always seem to make INTs and always come up with fumbles. I just hope J-Allen learns from this as the Pats will test him next week.

I feel very calm, since I have no expectations. This team has been mediocre or sub-mediocre for the last 10 years, and hasn't won a playoff game since the 2000-2001 season...how can ANYONE think they are a contender until they prove it?
I won't have any expectations until I see this team win a playoff game.

    I'm anything but.

Now, if the 'Phins come out against the Patsies next week and DON'T defer the ball on the opening kickoff when they've won the toss, my blood pressure will probably drop a little.

If on their first series they don't run the pathetic Wildcat one time, it'll probably drop even further.

If they score after a good, balanced drive that produces catches by B-Marsh as well as a few good runs by Ronnie Brown out of a BASE formation, my blood pressure will probably be pretty good.

If they win the game doing these same things throughout, NOT putting all the pressure on their defense to win the game and allowing them to play to their strengths by forcing the PATSIES to be perfect on offense in order to beat us, my blood pressure will probably be something my doctor would want to write a journal about.

If, however, Sparano defers and allows the Patsies' offense to get on the field first, and our defense, thinking they need to be SUPERMEN, gambles and allows New England to score quickly on the opening drive, putting us down 7-0, my blood pressure will rise.

If Henning continues right where he left off in the Jets game, and throws the Wildcat out there every single time we've gotten a huge first down through the passing game out of our base formation, and our offense stalls like some poorly-maintained '65 chevy truck with bad plugs, my blood pressure will really go up.

If we lose the game because he continues calling such idiotic plays, and Sparano is gutless and unable to stop him, my blood-pressure will skyrocket, I'll probably throw something through the tv, and will be hoping a f*ckin' bus runs over both of them as they're leaving Sun Life Stadium.

Since Sparano's been here we've deferred every single time, and the Pats always take the ball when they win the toss. We will start this game on defense and there's no other way around it. Hopefully it works out this time.
