http://www.facebook.com/anthonyscoalfiredpizza I heard on his show with Joe Rose on WQAM that Dan Marino owns or part-owns "Anthony's coal fired pizza." They are mostly in Florida, but they opened one in Pennsylvania and White Plains, NY and he was there for the grand opening and I had no idea! Anyone been to one before? What a bad weekend, I miss a Marino appearance and then the Dolphins lose to the Jets. Only remedy for this is a win on Monday.
if he does, hes gotta hit, cause that's some real good pizza...large with meatball and Ricotta is off the chain.
Great pizza. The best part is ya don't have to wait for delivery. Ya wait outside and Dan The Man just throws it to ya. LOL
Yeah and its some of the best pizza there is!!! The Paul and Young Ron Pizza is Sausage, Meatballs, Ricotta Cheese, and Jalapenos. It is absolutely to die for as is the Meatball and Ricotta. Chicken wings are also excellent but man, the salad is something I crave once a month.
The one I go to is in South Florida, and other than a couple of small pictures by the front door, you'd never know he was part owner. Lots and lots of flat screens but nothing Miami Dolphin related.
By the way! The answer to the OP's question is no! Anthony Bruno is the owner of Anthony's Coal Fire Pizza. Marino, I believe, is just a minority owner.
There are a few here in the bay area. Been wanting to try it. Didn't realize one was near my office. Will have to get up on that. Joe Rose is seamless as he transitions into the shill. I remember one time last year Marino cracking up at the segway.
New York style pizza at it's absolute finest. Most people who like NY pizza would expect it to be thin, which this is, and fairly greasy because of the type of mozzarella cheese, which coal fire is not. I like both types but Anthony's is my favorite by a wide margin. It's a must try.
That is the one thing I miss from Florida, some decent Stromboli. Up here, it is more or less a Calzone..
This thread is not good for my diet guys. Thankfully it ends Friday. I love me some meatball pizza and this place sounds fascinating. Too bad there aren't any around here, all though there are plenty of pizza places here that are heavenly.
LOL frigging Philly guys always thinking they have the best food. Don't you realize most people in FL aren't from FL?
Oh yeah, there was a mom and pop pizzeria near where I lived and Fridays were stromboli nights, yum yum. But sorry gapper, no cheez whiz allowed, that crap is like 90 weight motor oil in your veins..
They opened one up in Pinecrest and in Kendall recently, Its really good stuff. Now if only there was a LaSpadas down here. God the Wings and the P and YR are awesome. Its the best Pizza place in SFL.
Good news, they are opening two in New Jersey the site says. Edison and Ramsey. Maybe Marino will go to the opening like he did for the ny one.
Yes and yes. I wish I had a LaSpada's around me, the monster with the sweet peppers is the ultimate sandwich. Also, the wings from Anthony's are a thing of beauty, with the sauteed onions. Damn, now I'm hungry.
Laspadas, where a six incher is really a footlong, and a footlong is really 18 inches. Holy hell that sounded alot better in my head.
