Whoa. I remember he was just on the David Hasselhoff roast not long ago. I also remember him from 'Z Rock' on IFC. Can't say I was familiar with much of his work but I enjoyed what I did see. RIP.
I've known he's battled addiction even when he was supposedly clean in recent years. And the recent overdose. But it's still a shock that he's gone. Dude was one of my favorites.
Damn. This is a blow to crappy comedy (as evidenced by the farewells from some of today's worst comedians) But seriously though, at least he died partying.
Dude graduated from Harvard and was a lawyer at a very powerful law firm before becoming a comedian. Very smart guy. Sad that he let it get this far. One of my favorite comedians. Roasts certainly won't be the same without him.
Bad comedy is unforgivable. I refuse to live in a world where hacks like Dane Cook, Sarah Silverman and Kyle Cease can succeed. If you had a chance to travel back in time and make it so these people got a degree and never pursued a career in comedy, wouldn't you?
im not a fan of dane cook. but i dont mind him......people started hating on him once he got hugely popular. kinda ****ed up.
no, not your fault. but it is your fault that i......kinda wanna kiss you right now......tongue and everything....
I'll need to backtrack then. See where I went wrong. Getting these types of reactions can't be good can it?
We love our train wreck comedians. I first saw him on Colin Quinn's "Tough Crowd", he was funny in a cerebral kinda way. Then the more I saw of him the raunchier and edgier he became (not to mention disheveled). I don't think anyone can say they were surprised but it doesn't sting any less. He was hilarious no matter what brand of comedy he did. RIP, You will be missed.
jesus, i saw giraldo earlier this year on tour. and george carlin in 2008 on his tour. aparently it's a deathwish if i see a comedian live! on second thought, i'll go check out the dane cook tour when he comes through too soon?
Giraldo is, and always will be, one of my all-time favorite comics. He was the thinking man's crude and dirty comic.
Dane Cook. Dave Matthews. "The Blair Witch Project". Three things that are worthless yet achieved success due to mindless sheep afraid not to like them for fear of being labeled "uncool".
Except it seems the polar opposite with Dane Cook atm. As soon as he became popular people starting hating on him hardcore and people who do like him are labled "uncool." Odd dynamic. He's no comic genius, but I laugh when I listen to him.
Not your fault that he doesn't agree with you but you could also be more considerate of other posters. It is a crappy thing to say... So crappy its being deleted.
