Dolphins for this one. Although both teams have a brutal stretch of games coming up, so neither team can really afford a loss.

In a way, watching the Dolphins-Patriots game is actually more enjoyable. With the Jets, it's always nerves and I feel like I can never sit back and relax and enjoy the game.

Brady has to be the most over rated QB's in the entire NFL. I can think of ten QB's that were better and got very little press; Warren Moon to name one off the top of my head, and no one ever called him "the best ever". If you look at his record with both the CFL and the NFL it makes Brady look sick.

It was all just media fodder as the talking heads (like Jimmy "survivor" Johnson) were told to program people to think that way for TV ratings during the patsies last good season. I am a poor American because I don't roll over on command and think what everyone tells me to think. I like to form my own opinions. One of my opinions is that Brady and Bell-a-cheat weren't crap after Spy-gate. Once the cameras left - so did the championships.

They were cheaters and stole numerous superbowls. They should have been investigated further and got more than the slap on the wrist that they got. It will do my heart good to see both the Jets and the Dolphins dissect the Patriots this year - and every year. The Dolphins and the Jets played hard solid football all those years while the Patsies were fondling their lenses.

Every time I see the phony attention that New England gets I'd like to puke in my soup. They are a total disgrace the game of football.

Brady is hardly overrated. Dude is pretty damn good IMO.

I dunno about that. I would think it happens more than most people think, other teams haven't been caught. Further, have the Dolphins played "solid, hard football"? Didn't Miami get caught recording the snap count and the calls when they played NE a few years back during the Saban era?

It's weird, I'm watching the game for a second time and it is noticeable that they went a little away from the original game plan. I think they tried to expose Cromartie but they did it the wrong way; you don't attack him deep, you attack him laterally IMO. I don't know if you caught this but in the first half, the Jets applied some pressure on NE through blitzes and NE did not adjust well to it in the second half. If you look at the NE offensive line in the first half, they played with their hands in the dirt. Three point stances. If you look at their opening drive in the second half and further, they played in two point stances. Oddly, I think that was worse for them. Sebastian Vollmer got beat soundly on a couple plays right out the gate of the second half. He was too slow getting off the line on the first play, didn't get his hands off his hips and when he finally did, Shaun Ellis slapped them down and went around for the sack.

On defense, New England two gapped on the first two downs, expecting run and they actually played it well. Later, they go to 515 techniques and they get run over. They over pursue. In the secondary, a whole lot of 2 deep.

    Boston, MA...

Try living in NE Hermano, biggest batch of bandwagoners...you should see them flock to the Celtics as well...Jets have always been the eternal enemy of the division and who I hate most. Nonetheless, these past few years and the fact that I am older, has instilled in me an even deeper hatred for the Patriots and their fans. I concur about Spygate and all...its a shame that Goodell did not take it further, but I saw that coming with how it would have tarnished the legitimacy of the game ala Donaghy+NBA. For that reason, Patriots games are like a mini Super Bowl for me. The greatest thing is walking through Boston, MA with a Dolphins shirt on after a big victory so lets do it up on Monday!

Brady overrated? C'mon bro. He is one of the best now and is one of the best ever. And though they didn't win the Super Bowl that year, after Spygate they went 18-0 and Brady broke records. Lucky for us and possibly karma for them, they got beat in the big game. However, Brady is still as dominant as he ever was (post Spygate).

Gronkowski might be NE's version of Brandon Pettigrew. I dunno, I just don't see a lot of explosiveness from him. Hernandez is definitely an issue though.

I also think the Dolphins should attack Sebastian Vollmer. I'm confident that we're going to see Cameron Wake switch sides often this game and test both offensive ends of the Patriots. Matt Light is not always quick enough off the line IMO whilst Sebastian Vollmer does not get his hands off his hips quick enough. That's going to be a problem for him against Cameron Wake's explosiveness. I also think Koa Misi can bulrush Vollmer. The Jets overloaded Vollmer quite a bit this game and did some stunts, which he struggled picking up I felt.

    No..No..No..!

Put it this way, Sparano is historically a slow starter, we managed to jump out to a 2-0 record, however that does not preclude it taking until Gm #5 for Sparano to have his team tight like he wants it.

Well, not so much, Brady has lost that lovin' feelin' in the second half lately, in fact he has become downright pedestrian in the second halves of games the Pastriots are trailing in.

    See:

"Has Belichick's Genius Card been Revoked"

    And

"More proof these are the Pastriots not the Patriots"

Down in the AFCE rivals forum.

This is also the worst performance for their defence since Belichick arrived in NE.

It means nothing. This is a division game, anyone can beat anyone by any score. These games are way harder to predict.

What did you expect? He's playing with a young secondary, a struggling pass rush. Hell, even Vince Lombardi would have trouble coaching that. They may struggle this year but they'll be back, you'll see.

Wait until the Oline is settled and the 2nd Te found.

As well as the JA matchup is a point spread killer until he proves himself.

That 4 pt margin could easily be the calculation that JA WILL give up at least one long TD to Randy Moss, as long as JA starts and doesn't prove himself you have to have not like money to take the Phins.

We'll see, maybe Shawn Crable has taken some Wes Welker "magic juice".

Why am I the only one who finds it questionable that a team with the steroids history the pats have, finds is more than dubious that Wes Welker has had a "near miracle" comeback from two torn knee ligaments in less than 8 months?

I can't remember where I read it but Welker talked about the injury. He said it was not two torn ligaments. I read a quote from him saying it was a slight tear of one ligament, the ACL.

That's one thing that annoys me with the constant shuffling of o-linemen in preseason. In my opinion, too much time is spent shuffling these guys around and when they do decide who the starters are, there isn't enough time to come together as a unit. Hence the slow start that we have seen for the line in the previous 2 seasons.

That does mean if someone goes down, the backups know what they are doing, when John Jerry comes back, McQuistan will have had live game experience when it counts.

That is one of the secrets to Sparano's late season success, injuries no longer deplete the Dolphins as the normal backups/rarely playing Linemen have precious experience to step right in.

We saw that when Garner went into the Carolina game and played 3 positions and we still won the game, fans do not realize how rare that is to have linemen ready to step in and play as well as a starter.

the MCL was so swollen it took a month for the swelling to go down enough to perform the ACL surgery.

And as FFG has said, the ACL has to be replaced, there is no such thing as a "slight" tear, a cadeavor ligament has to be sewn into the knee.

Which supposedly took a month, which makes his comeback from such a serious injury in game #16 of 09 to practicing in July 10 even more miraculous don't you think?

I wish we had drafted Hernandez, then again we have a problem hitting on skill position players from Florida schools.

    Indeed he does.

our team will improve with each game. we are missing three important pieces: Crowder, Oderick & John Jerry. hopefully Crowder & John Jerry will return for the Monday night game. a win against the Cheaters would give us a nice start to the season& legitimatize/revive hope in a competing for the Big Enchilada

Dolphins need to rush for at least 100 yards. Leading the league in passing yards is Philip Rivers, yet the Chargers are 1-2. We didn't rush for 100 yards against the Jets, we lost. Was the difference from not running in the red zone? We'll never know, but if we did we may have scored and probably would have got to 100 yards.

Need to control the ball more and be balanced, and especially run at the goal line at least twice. I expect some more passing though. Not sure what to expect from Defense. It's the patriots, try and hold them under 27 points and offense should get to 30-34, especially if the Bills could.
