http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports/columnists/hyde/blog/2010/10/_1_lets_not_be.html Is this a motivational tool or is Parcells just simply putting Marshall on blast?
Henning blew 2, goal line, game winning, favorable down and distances, situation's..The guy just made a huge play on the previous, then you go back to him on a fade...funny..
This is such bs. Everyone (not talking about fans) is getting on Marshall for being tired at the end of the game. Nevermind the fact he pretty much carried the team up until that point. Also he is a competitor he doesnt need some one like Parcells trying to motivate him and play mind games. I wish Bill would just go away at this point, he is becoming more like a distraction.
brandon was one on one with no defensive help anywhere near him, on the first down directly after his 30 yard play. i think the defense was counting on him either not getting the ball, or not having enough to fight for it on that one play. maybe our coaching staff wasnt counting on weaker coverage for him on that play and going back to marshall too quickly back fired.
No he's not imo, he's being misread by the media, as usual....any involment with Parcells and my team, is better than nothin. some folks are gonna be real sorry one day soon..
why you guys are run by bums, and have a halfway decent team... I agree Parcells doesnt need to motivate the guy, he was gassed, he needs to up his cardio big deal...come at me with this in Week 14 if it is the samething.... Maybe if the coaching staff made him do a little cardio instead of the Tour deDavie....he would be in a better position...in all who cares..Marshall is going to ready for the big games...and by the look of things Jets fans have a little something more to worry about than Ted Ginn Jr....if he dropped 10/166 on you...in his first game... ***waits for Revis is the savior retort....ohhh STHU!!!!!***
Two of those plays should've been TDs. The fade to Marshall, and the play where Henne scrambled into a sack instead of leaking out to the right where he could've scrambled for a TD or at least bought another 3 seconds to scan the end zone. The last play Henning was expecting blitz and got a 3 man rush instead. Yeah I wish he'd have come up with something better too, like something with Bess in the game, but overall I think Henning did/does a good job. I don't get why he's become the fans' whipping boy.
I may be wrong here but, as I recall, it was the same DB covering Marshall on the fade who covered him for the 30 yard big play. IF so, and he is is in the same condition, Marshall should have the advantage on his height alone. At the same time, I also find it hard to believe Marshall is not in football shape.
"Better than nothin" is a HUGE understatement. Tuna & Company have done a Phantastic job. I have a great memory, and cannot recall when our Dolphins had, anywhere near close to, as much great young talent. Can anyone?
There are other WRs on the team who can catch a 7-10 yd TD right? Don't blame the lack of winning on that final drive all on BM
No need for Bess to not have caught a TD in the slot at that point. Or all passes on 2nd and Goal from the 2. Or Jason Allen gern crazy, or Bell falling down. You can't isolate one part of this game and get on someone except maybe Jason Allen and Henning.
You don't think this stuff is motivating Marshall right now? You're crazy... I feel bad for the Patriots... it's gunna be ugly.
Ted Ginn did more for us in ONE game(think real hard if that's possible)than Vernon has done in his career for the Jests
Let's remember, Parcells said this to Marshall back in the spring. It says nothing about Marshall's play on Sunday. The fact is Marshall was used extensively and he played an enormously physical game. Might he have run out of gas a hair or been winded a bit on that play? Sure. It's the most physical game he's played - by far - since Denver. And, even at Denver he had some massive games with catches in the high teens. I just don't see a big issue. Marshall was not the reason we did not score in the end, imo. He was the reason we had a chance to score, however.
I can’t say I’m worried about Marshall. He’s on track for personal bests of 112 catches and 1547 yards. I am however, really concerned about the play calling. It was 1st and goal at the 6 with 54 seconds and two time outs. Four straight passes, are you kidding me? Isn't that a perfect time to run downhill on a defense? I remember Parcells ripping into Simms all the time, even while Simms was having the best season of his career. Wouldn't read too much into that.
Forget this. Get in that other thread. There's a guy who says Shonn Greene is better than Cedric Benson.
I seriously doubt Marshall isn't in football shape. But he might not be in quite as good a shape as he could be. He did miss a lot of time in the summer due to the hip surgery. Football is a hard *** game to play at that level. And this is a guy that goes all out. If he had just a little bit more at the end, that might make all the difference. I can't see this being a permanent issue. That cardio will build the more games he plays in this climate.
