Playing conservative through 3 quarters will always put us in close games in the end, but I dont think our defense is up to par yet. We always seem to give up the big play.

You'd be surprised. People have been calling for Schott's head for years now and the guy they always cry for is Henning. They will say Schott can not develop players and look at what Henning has done with Henne, etc.

I think 95% of the time, the OC is a scapegoat position. When an offense is doing well, you never hear the fans praising the OC. But when a team struggles, he is the first guy fans want to hang. I can't even remember the last OC that Jets fans liked. Probably Henning.

No love for Weis when he was there? IIRC, Henning was the QB coach at the time too.

I had started to put together a reply with a link to a half dozen or so threads at JN as well as some quotable replies on the subject. For the most part it would have just fallen upon deaf ears so I scrapped it.

Bottom line is its just easier for people to blame a coach than hold players accountable.

Henning was OC in 2000, after Weiss.

    Fans liked Weiss.

Yeah, I just seem to recall reading a while back that he was a QB coach prior to being an OC? Weis - OC, Henning - QB Coach.

    over there
It's a flavor of the week mentality to be honest. That is how people think especially when it come to their team and sports fans in general.
Last week it was Jason Allen,...etc.
It won't change unless a Superbowl is won and then it will start again the next year after the first loss.Just the way it is,bro.
