After week 4, their is only one unbeaten team in the NFL. I really doubt anyone ever said that they thought Kansas City would be the only unbeaten team in the league.

I can see the big grin on the 72 Dolphins getting ready to pop the bubbly. I know the young pups on here don't really care for what the Dolphins did back in the 1970's, but for us old timers, it means a lot.

I'm not saying that people have to like what they did, but you need to respect what they did.

Man, the parity in the league this year has been more evident than ever just 4 weeks into the season.

Watch them get to at least 10-0....and give the '72 Phins a small scare.

Wouldn't surprise me considering, like you said, there's only 1 undefeated team after week 4. Whacky.

And then one looks at the list of Super Bowl winners and realizes there is no parity, especially this decade.

Only six teams have won the Super Bowl once. The rest are repeat champions: Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, Colts, Dolphins, Raiders, Redskins, Packers, Giants, Broncos.

There is no parity between teams, only conferences. And with only two conferences, that’s to be expected.

i can only think of one person that ever said they thought Kansas City would be the only unbeaten team in the league....my Father. He's a die hard Chiefs fan. The only reason he is...is because the first football game he ever saw was when the Chiefs won a superbowl when he was a boy, he's been a die hard fan ever since! I think this is the first time the 72 Dolphins have ever waited on the Chiefs to drink their champagne. lol. they won't have to wait long, they'll lose to the Colts.

16 different teams have won the superbowl. Thats not that lacking in parity.

The AFC playoff race is going to be an even bigger clusterf*** logjam this year than it normally is.

I wonder if the NFC West will be the first division to have it's champion finish with a losing record.

The only parity is the division of Super Bowl winners between conferences. The NFC has only two more wins than the AFC. That’s it.

In 63 basketball championships back to 1947...

The Lakes / Celtics have represented one or both of the teams playing in the finals 40 times (63.5%), winning 33 of those (52%).

We're lucky that the NFL doesn't have the dynasties of other sports

Try baseball. The Yankees have been in the World Series 40+ times IIRC or something ridiculous. It's just insane.

    Gotta love 'em.

I really don't want to go ahead and actually calculate this (it's 1:36 AM here) but even if we assigned an equal chance to win the SB to every team, 16 different winners would probably be a rather probable result.
