agree. now we know why we were playing conservative with the lead against minny and buffalo. looks better in retrospect huh?
On the bright side, if you would of told me we would hold the Patriots to 6 points at the half, I would of laughed you out of the room...
Wolves should be howling as the D stood tall on two straight Pasties drives off of Henne picks. anyone think Sparano would be pissed enough to put Penny into the game?
It was said before the game by Steve Young........ Henne is going through his reads too fast. 1. Nothing there 2. Nothing there 3. Nothing there 4. Checkdown Young says that Henne isn't letting the play develope. Young says, "Slow down. Nothing has happened yet." Bellichek has seen it on tape. He's covering the checkdowns. The hurry up, no look stuff we will pay for tonight.
Wow....never has it felt so f'ing bad leading into halftime. We prove time and time again we do everything in our power to give games away. Making stupid plays, calling stupid plays, and blowing coverages. This team needs to grow up quick.
Henne is getting careless. It was looking like a blowout but these guys always find a way to keep it close. I don't know if I've ever seen a team that so consistently can't put anybody away.
After the Ricky run why did we abandon the running game? answer henning is looking for a big play Pats were gassed. Keep running the god damn football
Nope.... Sparano is damn near married to Henne. When Henne fails, Sparano has failed. The history of the NFL says it's so.
he's 11/15 124 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT. Sure the INT's were boneheaded decisions, the second one was a rushed decision as someone didnt block their man on the rollout, still a bad decision, he shoulda thrown it away. I really wouldnt call that playing like **** though. He's gotten away from what we've trained him to do, and thats throw the ball away in situations like those, not sure why he's trying to force things tonight though.
It's not great, I know that much. It has directly cost us points. WE could be up by two scores right now.
You guys are playing well. Especially on defense. I don't like the idea of going up against Wake and Davis over the next few years. Hernandez is going to be a ***** too. You have the beating of the Pats.
Very good point. Its gotta be tough for Henne though when he's been taught to be forced to throw that ball withing 3-4 seconds no matter what. I've said this before, you cant just tell a QB thats the golden rule IMO. he's gotta learn that you have to get rid of it quick, but he's gotta also be able to get the game experience to develop a feel for how the play is going to develop as well, sometimes that takes an extra second or two.
That might be the worst call I've ever seen in a game. I have no idea why he thought that could work.
What is even worse is that I have a feeling with Henne's two INT's he is going to become super conservitive. He's not going to push the ball down the field, he's going to start looking for the checkdown quicker. I just hope they dont give up on him passing in this game. We might have held them to 6 the 1st half, but we know what they can do to the scoreboard.
We'll see what Henne is made of now. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he responds in the second half.
This team can't go up by that much on the worst team in the league. They'd find a way to keep it close. A fumble, a pick, Jason Allen slipping, something.
Henne's made some bad reads but there's no need to go conservative. They've got to talk to him and half time and get his head on straight.
I think RB's hammy is bothering him as Ricky is shredding the pasts and Ronnie is dancing at the hole.
I think things were going so well he started to feel invincible out there. I can't think of any other reason why he's throwing to guys who are covered.
