Tony Sparano should be put on notice by Mr Ross--either you get this turned around, get in the playoffs, and win a playoff game, or I will get a coach that can.

I hear all of the complaining about STs and that sorry coach. I hear people complaining about Henning and the play calling. People are rightly pointing out that Henne isnt developing as he should under D. Lee.

All of that is well and fine, but Sparano is the Head Coach. Hes responsible. The team was not ready for the Jets game and the team was not ready for the Patriots game.

I dont think TS is anymore ready for Primetime than this team was the past two weeks. Having the Patriots on Monday night was the perfect opportunity to make up for last week.

Hard times in Miami. Sparano needs to go away.

i doubt Tony hired any of them. Parcells may not be a significant part of this franchise now but lets not start torching the HC for hirings that Parcells made.

I hate to say it, but I absolutely agree. I think Sparano is a good guy, but this team should be a LOT better than it is.

    Sigh.

Special Teams, people. Tonight, special teams gave up exactly 21 pts. 21 pts! If our St were competent, we'd be either 3-1 or 4-0.

The only blame Sparano should take, is keeping Bonemago.

Special teams are our only real problem.

Sparano probably doesn't have nearly as much control over personnel decisions as many of you seem to think he does...

Then again, maybe he does. I doubt it though. I think we're too used to the way things used to run Pre-cam cameron. If you think about it, Shula had control over everything, and then Wannstedt did too for several years. They both had GM and coaching control, but since then we've have responsibilities divided up and now their isnt just one single guy to blame anymore. You're all blaming Sparano when it could be Parcells, Ireland, or even Ross at this point.

Tonight was just a pure and simple train wreck. Sporano has the guys playing hard but not to beat a dead horse our special teams are awful. I don't wish for anyone to get fired but I don't see how you don't fire him after that debacle. I still think we have a long ways to go.

linebackers are horrible (see #50, has he even made a play yet this year).
    need another wide receiver
forget the wildcat unless inside the 10
Need another corner (allen still sucks, he is just better than the other guy)
    Who are our safeties?
    D-line is too young still

maybe next year, but I've been saying that for 30 years now!

that's Horse manure. Henne threw two bad picks before the debacle, yes, but we were very much in the game. He was making lots of great throws until the ST nightmare struck.

The pats will get enough glorification from every where else in the world, please don't give it to them here.

I get it, you guys are emotional after the loss.

Our offense put up a bunch of yards and points on one of the best defenses in the league last week and our defense held the best offense to under 14 pts this week.

Time management didn't cost us anything and Henne far from sucks. This game was entirely special teams. Last week was a lot of special teams.

Even if the first two INTs would have lead to TDs for us, we still would have lost by a TD, thanks to 21 pts given up on STs. This is pretty simple math.

I was with him first couple of years but it's becoming fast apparent Parcell's was running the show... It's 3rd year and Sparano is being exposed. It may seem silly but the whole sunglasses thing is really irking me right now because it makes him look like a coward hiding his eyes from the world, Sunglasses at night Sunglasses at the PC's, I never noticed this before Parcell's left.I might be wrong but the whole impression it gives me is that the jig is up, Parcells is gone and Sparano knows he's about to be exposed...

I don't think we are as bad off as it seems, I think we have the players to get the job done, at the very least we have a solid foundation this team just lacks proper coaching and is losing their focus. Starting with Henning and his grasping at straws while hurting Henne's development via the wildcat then on to the Ostrich Sparano burying his head in the sand (or more appropriately behind his sunglasses) and on to Special Teams and on and on...

My gut feeling was Parcells was taking the easy way out, rather than replace the coaching staff that were his friends he would just leave and let someone else deal with it. Parcells is a coward too. Hopefully Ross can straighten things out. I don't have alot of confidence but money works wonders and the man has alot of it...

This team might turn it around after this embarrassing loss but I highly doubt it will have anything to do with actual coaching and a whole lot more to do with their own self respect and embarrassment after this loss tonight.

All I can say really is same old Phins... It sucks but it seems like we are in for more of the same until changes are made again, hopefully we get lucky next time...

For the record, I like Sparano. I don't think he's a bad coach.

That said, Henne **** the bed tonight, period. He threw two dumb picks, balls that NEVER should of been thrown, has no pocket awareness, struggles to read defenses, stares down WR, etc...

He's done it in 3/4 games. the difference is he didn't throw enough in the first two. We all wondered why. We know now.

I guess you enjoy sub .500 seasons with no hope of contention. Sorry, but I've been through that my entire life and it doesn't quite work for me.

One good year. One good year.... with the easiest schedule this team has ever faced.

Henne's two picks left us at exactly 7-6 tonight. They were missed opportunities but they barely cost us anything. The Henne hate is insane. You'd think after the crap QB play we've had to endure since 13, Henne would be untouchable right now.

Nice avatar! "sign Michael Vick?". GTFO. This is what, Henne's 17th game? You really need a clue as to how player development works in the NFL. Seriously. If the NFL followed your beliefs, then EVERY QB drafted over the past 3 years would be ditched for players with more experience.

    Well it's clearly the biggest.

I think to say it's our only problem is wishful thinking though.

Clearly though the lack of effectiveness on ST's is a glaring issue.
Problems on ST's usually shows greater problems with a coaching staff as a whole. THat's what worries me the most.

ONLY REAL PROBLEM? Sorry man, no disrespect but I can't even take that seriously. That unit really blew it tonight, and they cost us in some aspect every week.... but the offense has some major problems as well, though admittedly that starts and comes close to ending with Dan Henning.

14 points at home against a ****ty defense.

Know which team can do better than that? Buffalo.

  26. Samphin

Someone needs ot be held responsible for the bottom falling out tonight. Otherwise the thought that permeates that it is okay to give up and be horried and everything stays the same. A culture of losing, if you will.

The obvious and prbably right scapegoat is John Bonamego. This is NOT the first time (even this season) that this has been an issue. That unit has been shaky at best for a long time, but it's holes are GLARING at this point. Maybe you put starts on special teams to send a message that it is important. But I really think you have to part ways with possibly, the worst special teams coach in the league.

But they aren't alone. The Patriots gave up 30+ points to everyone this season. And I do mean ev eryone...including the Bills. Yet we can barely manage two scores? Something is clearly terribly wrong here. The offense doe snot have the explosiveness we all thought it would have with Henne's arm and Marshall's abilities. But it also lacks the ball control ability that the supposed superior run game is to bring.

And the defense...is just kind of there. They get gashed by no namers and all-pros alike. a 12 year old (Woodhead) gashed us tonight and it won't get any easier down the road. Sean Smith still sucks and seemingly the only players worth their salt are Cam Wake and Vontae Davis. Everyone else just seems disposable currently. Dansby disappeared tonight. Absolutely vanished. For someone who keeps touting himself to be the best, he can't do that.

I don't know if it is scheme related, talent related or a combo of both, but this team just lost tow divisional games...at home. They pretyt much just sealed their own fate within the division tonight. Welcome back to mediocrity boys and girls. Its where we seemingly always are.

    Couldn;t agree more.

In fact, when Sparano 'assesses his coaches' after each season he can choose to keep or fire them. He got rid of Maser, but kept an underperforming Bonamego after year one.

After year two, he fires Pasqualoni, but keeps a crap Bonamego because one great game by Ted Ginn provided enough smoke and mirrors to let Sparano lie to himself about Bonamego's ability as a coach.

The Pre-season, STs look WORSE THAN THEY HAVE IN THREE YEARS... and Sparano sticks with Bonamego.

Sparano deserved STs melting down and costing him a huge division game.

He shoulda fired Bonamego after his first year.

Bad decisions Tony, CONSISTENTLY year after year there.

The point is, none of our other problems are really game changing. As I said before, our offense put up a lot of points and yards on a top 3 defense last week and our defense stopped the number offense this week.

Henne's picks stopped drives in NE territory. That means points off the board. He didn't **** us completely, but he didn't do anything to help us either. the loss isn't on him alone, but he shares a big part in it.

If you're comfortable judging Henne's success vs. Lemon/Beck/Culpepper/etc... have it. I'd rather judge his success on whether or not he makes plays that win games. Wins that accumulate and get us into the playoffs and beyond. That's just me though. I'm weird like that.

That second INT was a killer though FinD. We were in New England's territory and it isn't unreasonable to think that at least a field goal would be netted. So you are talking about a six point swing minimum, which would have been two scores and potentially change the gameplanning on New England's side.

You could just see the life almost go out of the offense on the second pick, and then seeing the kickoff return for a TD to start the second half, it just deflated the team and they gave up. The problems compounded on themselves. Henne is not immune to criticism when it is warranted. He sucked tonight, and deserves to know that. Much like everyone else who sucked tonight (ESPECIALLY special teams)

Which would have meant nothing, when your Special Teams give up 21 pts. Pretend the first two ints never happened and we scored TDs. We still would have lost by a TD, thanks to special teams.

Meh, even before the special teams blew the game open for New England the offense struggled. We move the ball well every week, but we just can't seem to find the endzone. Most of it is play calling, though.... most of it. I still can't believe we ran the wildcat on third and six with Henne off to a 7/7 start or something like that.

We've left points on the field in ALL FOUR GAMES now.

Almost every Michigan fan I know said Henne has always and will always be mentally inconsistent. That's not something that has changed in over 60 combined college and NFL starts. It's a focus thing, or something.

He just has brain farts once in awhile.

Unless a mule kicks him in the head and fixes his brain wiring after a lifetime of being a dude with that personality, I don;t see him being educated into consistency.

This is as much a behavior/mentality thing as it is an X's and O's thing, man.

Henne will win us some games and he WILL lose us some.

Fortunately, tonight, even if he'd played great, the special teams would have taken care of the losing part all on their own, so it's not all Henne's fault anyways.

I'm comfortable judging his progress in a realistic manner. I'm weird like that. 17 starts and he's holding pretty steady around 80 QB rating. That's pretty good actually.

You want to compare a virtual rookie to Drew Brees, go ahead.
