Throwing 2 passes to a Linebacker who has not had a career INT tells me alot. Henne shouldnt have thrown those passes. Wasnt like the Defender made those plays. Henne gave it to him. Unforgivable. Henne is decent but i wont hide in my opinions. Henne needs to protect the ball more. Throwing it straight into a LB's lap tells me he is jumpy and not reading the field well.
I wont start on the Special Teams because those clowns are costing us games. They have cost us 2 after 4 weeks. Not Henne.

Who is responsible for the team giving up 21 points? The HC has to be responsible.

he should be simply fired @ the end of the season if we fail to make the play-offs.
Sparano has been a parcellian experiment gone very wrong. he is not head coach material

Thats really the wrong question to ask. IMO, the right question is "Who is responsible for getting this team ready on a regular basis"?

I think the answer is the Head Coach.

If we agree on that, then IMO, the question is "Can this head coach get us to where we need to be?"

I think that is the question. Forget how much time hes had on the job, forget how bad this team was when he got here. I think in three more years we'll continue to see the past three years.

Sparano is in over his head...IMO, he has as much chance of growing into this job as Bobby Carpenter does in becoming the next Dick Butkus.

Based on what evidence? You're being ridiculous and reactionary.

He guided us to 11-5 and division champs his first year. Last year we were in the playoff hunt till the end. This year we are 2-2, because special teams sucks and he just fired the coach. Get a grip.

You are one of those fans that has tunnel vision. If we lose a game he's the worst coach ever. You are ill-informed and a slave to your emotions. It does a disservice to these boards.

I have a grip. If any area of the team sucks, hes responsible. Quit making excuses. We have been bad in STs for two seasons plus 4 games now. He waited too long. He will share Bonegamo's fate.

And praytell, how does what I say here affect a service or disservice to the board? Thats an absolutely absurd statement.

Fine so following your ridiculous logic, every coach, who hasn't won a Super Bowl should be fired. Every coach who has made significant improvements on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, but has a poor special teams should be fired. Brilliant. Seriously, do you even pay attention to the games, or just look at the final result? In your mind, does McDonald's have the best hamburger in the world, simply because they've sold the most?

Because these boards are supposed to be better than the innocuous tripe that is spewed on other message boards and the crap you see in the comments section of online articles. By vomiting your reactionary and unfounded BS, you hurt the quality and reputation of this site.

3 years from a 1 win season, and we're talking about firing our coach at after the season? THAT is how you end up with a 1 win team.

Tony came in to what was a HORRIBLE team. We had 0 talent on this team, and he's had to overturn the entire roster. We now have a top wideout, a stud LB, we drafted a top 5 CB, developed a stud pass rusher at OLB, have a stud OL, have a stud DL, and drafted a promising young QB.

Enough of this instant gratification BS. The dolphins are fun to watch for the first time in YEARS. Our team is YOUNG, and scrappy as hell. They got down 14-0 early against the jets and fought back.

Sparano has installed a scrappy fighting CULTURE, and he deserves the time to develope that. His team doesn't roll over or give up, we're fighters and stupid mistakes aside I'm proud as hell of this team.

Sparano has made mistakes. Our ST was abysmal, some of his judgment calls deserve to be questioned (but what coach doesn't fall into that?), and I hope he reigns in the wildcat.

But one thing is apparent...this guy has balls. He's not afraid to do what it takes to win, and he has his team buying in. What happened last night was an embarrassing debacle, but you can be damn certain Sparano feels the same way and will make this team feel it.

Running Sparano and the FO out of town would be a HUGE mistake. He's a young coach, and he's learning. This team makes strides every year, we just have to be patient and it will come. Our defense was cheddar cheese, but he built it into a terrifying unit that snuffed AP on the one yard line for the win. The offense was ANEMIC for TWO seasons, and now we're a high powered offense capable of putting up gaudy points.

I'm tired of losing too, but looking at where we were, and where we are in 3 short years amazes me..and it should you too. This isn't a mediocre team, it's a young team that will make mistakes. But that's how you build a team in the long run. CONTINUITY. Sparano is playing in a division that has the HC and QB of one of the most successful dynasties in the history of the NFL, and is competing against a team that was built BECAUSE there is no salary cap. The Jets can't put that team together ANY other year. They paid for players..and I honestly think in the long run it'll come back to bite them in the ***. Until then, i can assure you Sparano is looking for ways to grind it out against them like he always has.

    ROFLMAO...this is good stuff....

Uh, yeah. I have read some of the stuff written on these boards by some of the "smarter" posters, or so I was told. If the reputation is is harmed, dont blame me, brother Finacious D. I tell the truth. Thats all. You dont have to agree with it. There are still people that believe the earth is flat. So, it shouldnt come as a shock that some will still believe Tony Sparano is a good coach. People can be made to believe anything.

Your McDonalds example...What the hell was that? It has nothing to do with what we are talking about and its not analogous at all to the coach, the team, the season.....Unless of course, you are plugging your employer. If thats the case, You do deserve a break today and allow me to plug mine by saying "be all you can be"....:wink2:

Now, let me help you out with the only part of your post that showed any semblence of coherence......

-Not every coach who ever loses a game should be fired.
-Not every coach who improves the team should be retained.

Are with Brother Finacious? Stay focused here and pay attention...

A coach has to be evaluated in regards to what the expectations are of the franchise, the talent available to the franchise, and the opportunities given to the individuals. Ok. Got that? Re-read that, because that part is important.

    1. What are the expectations? For some of you (far too many, actually) the expectations are just not be 1-15. If we win 3 games, hey, its better than we were, cut the guy some slack.

So for you guys, Tony Sparano is basically Joe Paterno. He can stay here until he dies.

Others here, like me and 23 to name a few, have high expectations. We expect to be winning playoff games, and we expect that we are going to progress from season to season.

Ok, lets say the first year was a fluke, and instead of 11-5, lets allow him a reversal, and say, he was only 5-11 (to adequately account for expectations. I think a three game turn around is fair. So the next season, (last year, for those of you who have draft websites:wink2:) it was fair to expect him to win 8 games. This year, keeping the same three game improvement goal, he should be expected to win 11 games. Some of us would even expect him to win a playoff game.

    2. What is the talent level of this team? I think thats debatable, but we did upgrade offensive talent this year, and I dont think the offense is better. Defensively, we got younger, though perhaps more talented. Overall, I think its better talent than last year.

    3. Opportunities-This is the third year and these guys have had a plethora of draft picks. They have blown too many of them and its coming back to bite them. But they have been given every opportunity.

So, in this context of evaluating Tony Sparano, obviously opinions are going to differ, but its not irrational to want him fired or say that he hasnt met expectations.

    Better now?

"Hello, I am calling with a message for Da Phins...This is reality, and I am just checking in with him....

He said in a post the Fins were 'scrappy'. According to my records, it shows a final score of 41-14 and 0-2 in the past two weeks on prime time. Scraps? Yes. Scappy? Not even close.

He said Tony was learning, implying that he was 'improving'...yeah, DaPhins, that would be wrong...or its at least a statement with no supporting evidence. 0-2 at home isnt improving...(cue music) Dum dum dum....

So please return my call, again, I am Reality, and you need to seriously check with me before making more posts on this board. Have a nice day".

You haven't made a single intelligent thought or conclusion, you've no business judging any other post. You also haven't told the truth. You've told your unfounded opinion.

Sigh. Let me spoon feed you then.

You are clearly the type of person who only looks at 2 things: w-l record and who signs on the dotted line. Case in point, was Sparano a horrible coach when he guided us to the single greatest turnaround in the modern era of the NFL? I'll wait for answer.

Since you're that type of person, (I won't say fan) then you're very clearly the type of person to say no one makes better food than McDonalds because they sell the most. This isn't rocket science, chief.

Ok, now let's really dive deep into your ridiculousness. First of all, you say a coach should be judged based on your expectations. Do you even comprehend how ignorant that is? Then you go on to say he sucks based on you actually changing history. You're like, "Well, Brother Fin D, if we hadn't won all those games, then you'd see my point about how we suck".

Of course in the context of the evaluation that your bringing to the table Sparano sucks. But that is only because you are using all the wrong and flat out ridiculous measuring sticks to judge him by. What you are basically saying, is that the Godfather sucks, because it didn't have space ship battles in it. And since that is what you require for a movie to be good, how can anyone not see how it would suck based on that criteria.

Then to top it all off, you bring the 23rd in to it, who up until last week, wrote the world's most craptacular poetry singing the praises of Sparano, this team, and the killer whale 27 or whatever...all of which proves what i said before, you and the people that agree with you are slaves to your emotions and wouldn't know reason and logic if it took a dump on your lawn.

15 + 14 + 23 + 14 = Gaudy ? Hmmmmm 66 points - 7 (one of those TDs in Minny was not the O) = 59 pts in 4 games. Just under 15 points per game. I'd say that isn't gaudy but just about league middle, if that.

We are all frustrated, but c'mon bro, stop sipping the Kool Aid. This team is not nearly as far along as other teams are in their rebuilding. Take KC for instance.

You started this bs, when we were 2-1. That means one of two things: either you're flat out lying by saying "we don't need to be undefeated" or if we were 3-0 you still would be *****ing, which means you're basically a troll.

So which is it, are you a liar or Jets troll?

Sparano shouldnt be on the hotseat. This was a four year rebuilding project from the beginning unless we got extremely lucky. I have said that since before Ireland was hired and I still feel that way. We are getting closer in my opinion though last nigfht was certainly a frustrating and embarrassing loss but there were consequences for that loss starting where the blame belonged, on the ST coach.

If you saw Jay Feely's twitter account it was the same protection scheme and rush package that the jets used last week and once again we missed the assignment. Special teams was where this game all shifted.

I don't have Sparano on the hot seat yet but I've lost some faith in the man. He should see what other coaches see and correct them with his postion coaches. Now, with that said, and I sure hope he does, but if he can learn from this because he's only been an NFL coach two full seasons then I pray he is or does soon because I don't want to go thru another coaching/GM change....

I havent lost an ounce of faith in the man. Bill parcells rebuilding of Dallas started the same way. Playoffs in year one, back to back 6-10 seasons and whispers that the old man was done and a division title in his final year there. This regime builds teams that last, not for a quick fix. They go for the initial quick fix to get morale up and then get young players under the vets to replace them. Like I said, its a four year rebuild but as long as it works I dont care. We have pieces but we arent complete.

The only move that really eats at me is releasing Jake Grove. I know he hasnt been picked up yet but he was the second rated center last year by Pro Football Focus and was right on Mangold's level pre-injury which, like him or not, is pretty darn good. I think he could have done a number on the Pats interior DL last night for damn sure since he did very vs Wilfork in Miami last year. That release wreaked of trying to save $$$ which I dont care about, Im interested in wins not what it cost.

not only that. Imagine being on the offense thinking 'Man, if we don't score a touchdown, the punts getting blocked! Even if we get into field goal, it'll get blocked!"

Maybe that's the whole idea. Bonemego was brutally teaching this offense the necessity to score on every possession in the harshest way possible.

I know why I am getting warnings. Dissent is never welcomed...not on message boards, not in town hall meetings, not in third world dictatorships. Its just not smart if you want to survive. But I wont be intimidated. I will speak the truth until I am banished.
