this might explain why he was not really thrown to last night. I am sure they really didn't want to risk injury if they were planning on trading him, but didn't want to sit him cause of the threat he poses. Still...Vonte did a great job on him!
Are the pats ****ing stupid? Dude is their only downfield threat. Watch those safeties creep and defend Welker all day.
Yep...ESPN is on it now. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/nf...ss&source=twitter&ex_cid=Twitter_espn_5653186 This thing has serious legs it looks like.
And Moss will Garner a high pick, Damn Pats loading up on picks. Can Miami ever do that? Pats 2011 draft picks 1st Round 1st Round (OAK – Richard Seymour) 2nd Round (CAR – 2010 3rd Round) 2nd Round 3rd Round 4th Round 4th Round (DEN – Laurence Maroney) 5th Round 6th Round (NO – David Thomas)
it better not be a first round pick... even if its a second it's too high IMO... but I reckon that is what it is... or a third and a player or two...
It isn't really a rumor. From what Glazer is saying, this deal has legs. It is just a matter of getting a contract done and they have to open the talks. Still, the Vikings are making moves to add him to the roster...
When Moss was traded from Oakland to NE, that was for a 4th round pick...right? You don't gain value at his age. I would say maybe a 3rd and a 5th, but I can't see it being more when his trade value before was so low.
This has to be one of the strangest days I've been part of (obviously on a microbial level). The simple meltdown of our special teams and now this. What? Did the Pats, if they make this move really just reopen the division like that? Really? That changes the whole dynamics of the division. Wow.
Damn, the pats are hurting themselves for the rest of this year in order to help themselves for the future.
Watching Bellichek & Brady on the sidelines at the end of the game they had their old swagger of you're a piece in our puzzle that we can replace. They must feel they won't miss him or they wouldn't be working on this.
Of course the Pats trade him a week before the Vikings play the Jets. This is great news for the Jets and Dolphins, though. Get this guy out this division. Moss will be on Revis Island this week! LETS GO
We would have had to face him again this year anyway, so it is what it is. I'll have to see what the Pats get before I say it was a good deal or not.
I'm not one to sit here and claim Revis to be the best thing since sliced bread, but when he is on the field, the Jets have a pretty strong secondary. I don't care who helps who.
It's called Man-Free. That's about as close to an island as you're going to get, other than Cover 0 which the Jets run a ton of. All this stuff about him getting help, I don't see it. There's a reason why their secondary is completely different when he's in there and not. When he's in, they roll their coverages and help Cromartie and the others. When he's out, they play a lot of Nickel and Dime to create blitzes as well as have enough back there for coverage. People won't admit it but Revis is right up there as the best in the league IMO. Him and Asomugha. Those two have the best mirror skills in this league.
When Mike Pettine, Chad Ochocinco, and Brandon Marshall all say that Revis gets safety help, I believe them. Back on topic, apparently the compensation is in the neighborhood of a 3rd round pick. Vegas has suspended all betting on the Vikings/Jets game.
The deal is not done, yet. Please, go to a Pats forum. Pats fans think they're getting AP or Allen. Unbelievable.
They did indeed say they were running Man-Free. It's not like they are playing bracket coverage every game out there, ya know.
Put this in your pipe and smoke it boys ready......? After this deal is done.....BB calls AJ Smith, and gets a deal done for V-Jax.....watch....I smell BB stench from miles away...he is 30, gets a new deal....Brady's new target, a shade less than Moss, but what 4-5 years younger....
Revis Archipelago has a population of two Jets jerseys and one opposing WR. Vincent Jackson is not on the trading block. Dean Spanos won’t allow it. He’s the one driving hardball with Jackson, not AJ Smith. Smith probably would have preferred to give Jackson the money he wants. The Pats either snag Percy Harvin from the Vikings in this trade, or they fly up the white flag on their playoff hopes and wait until next year. Vincent Jackson won’t bail them out.
GreshandZo RT @Gary_Tanguay sources say Moss showed up unhappy today. He and BB had words. He is gone to Vikes if he and Minn workout a new deal
Last season NFL Match-up showed the help that Revis got. If you don't think Revis gets safety help then you don't know what you're looking at.
I was listening to EEI this morning coming in, and they had Mort on, who basically said this thing is about done....they Dennis and Callahan asked about V-Jax, and Mort said he heard nothing, no rumors, only conversation amongst reporters as speculation.... To think of it, they would have to give SD a 2nd and a 3rd, and 30 milly in guarnteed money....BB and Kraft arent doing that...
wow and honestly that is stupid....how do you let that guy go..... Moss will head to Minnesota without a long-term deal. It's anyones guess as to how much Moss has left in the tank, as it's been awhile before anyone has seen him give 100%. The Patriots now have an additional pick in each of the first four rounds of the 2011 NFL Draft, and are primed to add even more talent to their roster.
